yeah let's talk about ed, al, roy, izumi and hohenheim being the only living people left in amestris tbh!!!!!!! everyone they love is dead (worse, really) and they all kind of just? stick together and travel east just trying to be anywhere other than where they are. hohenheim dies by the time they make it to the desert and then it's just ed, al, izumi and roy crossing the desert together and they all kind of lose their shit one by one and it can go anywhere devastating from there, really
hell yea IMAGINE THE EMOTIONAL CONSEQUENCES okay butlike what if al feels so guilty abt this like if he never woke up the world wouldnthave ended and like what abt roy bc everything he fought for is gone and he hasno purpose and hes still blind and ed doesnāt know how to deal with this messand he blames himself bc hes always like that and izumi is just trying to keepthis broken family together but ed doesnt want to talk and roy doesnt want totalk and al doesnt want to exist and imagine all the empty cities they pass
imagine ed walking into a preschool and seeingall the dead kids still playing with their toys and throwing up before heenters another abandoned home to scavenge food and izumi finding him trying toflush his vomit down the toilet when the plumbing doesnt work
imagine roy shivering bc of the smell of rotand bc its the first scent he learned to recognize clearly after he went blindand he can smell it on his clothes howmany times has he stepped on corpses? he cant tell he cant tell?
imagine al seeing these corpses and feelingless human and imagine him thinking of scratching his blood seal off but hecant do that bc he knows that would break ed
imagine al stumbling upon all the dead animalsin the city and collecting them for a mass grave next to the human grave andwishing he could cry for these ppl because there can never be enough grief forthe deaths of so many
imagine izumi being super scared of silence bcdublith was always so loud and full of ppl and now theres nobody so she has tocreate living sounds to feel okay and she does this by talking with the othersbut they dont respond all the time so it makes her scared but she hides ituntil she completely breaks down
imagine izumi breaking into a house andfinding a sleeping baby in a cradle and thinking that its almost alive for asecond before the realization strikes
imagine ed seeing winry and seeing a half madeapple pie sitting on the counter and everything looks like its meant for a timewhen he would come home except this time its winry who is not coming home
imagine ed digging a deep grave just forhohenheim but in the end there were so many corpses and so little time that itjust became a mass grave for everyone in that area
imagine ed regretting the fact that the onlytime he truly showed any respect to his father was after hes dead and even thenhohenheim didnt get much respect as hesrotting away in a mass grave
