A little ASOIAF Daenerys/Jon/Prince who was promised rant

You, me and every other rational individual that has proper utilization of their brain or simply their ADHD brain is WELL AWARE of the fact that Daenerys is the prince who was promised, right?

Not only has Dany fulfilled every single criteria stated in the damn prophecy or even the fucking fanon all her ancestors saw HER, this whole "Jon is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne" is absolute bullshit because let's take the logic we hear all the dudebros using alright.

According to them, as Jon is a child of Rhaegar Targaryen, the Crown prince of Westeros and Dany is just his sister she's undeserving of the throne (lets bsfr, she's also a woman but that's me saying their quite part aloud) this makes Jon the rightful heir to the throne.

WELL NO IT DOESN'T, first, Jon or Aegon, is the product of an extra marital affair not legitimized by the crown or state, he was had in complete secrecy, so unlike what Sam states in those two godforsaken last seasons of Game of Thrones (which aren't canon) he is still a bastard even if he was Lyanna's son.

And then, pressing on that Jon is the product of an EMA, Rhaegar has official legitimized children with Elia (who deserved SO MUCH BETTER) who were given his name and were elder to Jon, meaning he's at the last of the line.

But you know what else, I will do a favor to Jon by saying the concept of an eldest heir is immediately negated the moment the Targaryens are uprooted by the Rebellion and even more so when Robert dies and the war of the 5 kings began, as by those points, the throne was whosoever was able to take over thereby taking the incestuous lannisters off the throne which was the official way by then.

All of this is just to say typical rules can't and DON'T apply to Jon because a) he is a bastard regardless b) he is the youngest child of Rhaegar c) the throne is a power grab

PS: I adore Jon, not in the show ew, but book Jon is my baby who I helped pick out apples in papa's orchard, but at the same time, Dany is the daughter who I teach guitar and give 80% of my assets to, she's above him.

Another thing to point out is that after Rhaegar died, Aerys named Viserys his heir over Aegon and Rhaenys. Dany was Viserys's named heir, meaning that by law of succession, the Throne belongs to her

I lose 3 braincells every time I read about how Arya is "feral". Yes, Arya liked to roughhouse, yes Arya liked to play with swords. If this constitutes feral behavior like 70+% of ASOAIF would be considered feral.

Arya ate bark and bugs and drank from rivers, that is true. But so many certain fans conveniently forget about why Arya did these things. It wasn't for funsies or because she was a weirdo. Arya was taken as a prisoner of war, witnessed crimes against humanity and barely escaped with her life. It was either eating bark and bugs or going hungry. It was either drinking river water or becoming so dehydrated she couldn't move. If this makes her feral, that means that all victims of war are feral, which is a dangerous precedent.

I lose 5 braincells every time I read about "duh mad kween". The damage that dumb and dumber did to this fandom has spread like poisoned soil from a smelting plant, seeping from the ground to the water to our very blood. They hate that the main protagonist is not a Handsome Dashing Hero Man or Delicate Lady. They can't stand that the person who will save the world is a teenaged girl who survived familial abuse sex trafficking, the death of a child, and so many other awful things, is the one who will save humanity.

A gripe I have about a lot of fanfiction that features Arya or Brienne is the fact they often have these two women have negative views on women and feminity when that is not the case. They both have a negative view of the place women are made to settle in the social practices of Westeros.

Arya dislikes how women are viewed and she refuses to "be a lady". She rejects it the same way a tomboy would reject the color pink even if they don't actually hate the color. Its like coming from a family where women are homemaker and saying "I'm going to be an engineer!". People aren't taking her seriously because thats just not what is done, its a male dominated field, and they don't have the faith in her. Its like late 90's early 2000's tomboy character archetype. Hates the social standards not the girl.

As for Brienne, she doesn't reject feminity in the same way but thats because she was never allowed to have access to it. She has always been masculinized and deemed ugly and not a woman. It's like how female sports stars often have their feminity stripped away and questioned, even if their body serves an important job. Any comment you can read by red-pilled men under an Illona Maher video is absolutely something that can or has been said to Brienne.

The character who does hate feminity, women, and everything about being a girl is Cersei. She is one of those boy moms whose husbands married then cause they were pretty but checked out so now they are dating their own son because they don't know how to exist outside male validation. Other women are not allies but threats, young, old, ugly, beautiful, doesn't matter, if you have a vagina you're a threat. Brienne and Arya can be friends with women, Cersei cannot.

In Arya's VERY FIRST POV she proudly proclaims that "the woman is important too!" Arya does not hate women, not at all. As OP pointed out, she hates how women are viewed, the way they're expected to act and the way they're ostracized when they dare break free of the painfully rigid mold women are expected to fit into in Westeros.

Brienne has had a painful road with femininity due to her unconventional appearance. Despite the years of taunts and cruelty, Brienne has maintained her goodness and pure heart and does not hold any hatred towards those who can embrace femininity in ways she can't. In Westeros, beauty and femininity are the most valuable currency for noble women. This makes it all the more delicious that Brienne is the TYMBQ of Cersei's prophecy.

TLDR, Arya and Brienne don't hate women or femininity. As OP so accurately pointed out, the woman who does hate womanhood the most is Cersei.

AAAAH IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!!

You know what I loved about the new Supergirl movie? It's not about a world-ending, or universe-ending threat. It's a smaller scale, personal story that the viewer can get emotionally invested in. That's what I feel a lot of superhero movies have missed in the last 10 years. When every movie is about saving the planet, or the universe, it doesn't seem very high stakes anymore. I don't have any emotional investment in the end of the universe, but my dog dying? Fuck yeah, I'd do anything for my dog.

Watching Supergirl really hammers home how LUCKY Luthor was that Clark saved Krypto without bloodshed. Clark knew that Kara would have torn through them like a knife cutting through butter to get to her dog. Clark did him a massive favor and ABSOLUTELY saved his life.

GOD I hope we get a Supergirl/Luthor interaction in the next film, it'll be hilarious.
