- Whenever he looks at Erestor he is reminded of Ecthelion. (and what could have been)
- Arwen always challenges him to duels, he pretends to lose so she can fell victorious. Glorfindel finds it beyond adorable
- Is always there to teach the twins different fighting techniques. They love training with him and are always asking for different styles and tricks for fighting
- Loves Erestor’s smile, even a smirk is enough to make happy all day.
- Loves listening to Elrond’s bedtime stories. His favourite is an Elvish version of Cinderella. He feels a certain kinship to the blonde princess.
- (Elrond only reads him bedtime stories when he is depressed. It cheers him up immensely)
- Was devastated when Celebrian sailed, they were as thick as thieves. Constantly, pulling pranks on Elrond and Erestor. Telling each other very stupid jokes and stories.
- In the dark when he is alone, he can see the outline of the fire demon. It’s roar fills his heart with dread, he hides his hair out of instinct.
- Glorfindel, Galadriel and Celeborn get together and drink wine. They reminisce about the old days and tell hilarious stories.
We don't talk often really but I just wanted to say I really appreciate your kindness. Reaching out to just say something is really great especially when I'm very bad at socializing in general and it makes me feel part of the fandom. I also appreciate your dark fics :)

The torch flickered in his hand, unsteady fire lighting the forest around him. Five nights and six days without food or water, without sleep or rest; Maedhros could endure more, Maedhros knew he could endure more - but Maedhros wasn't worried about himself.
Elured and Elurin were by themselves for five nights and six days. He stopped yelling their names a while ago now, figuring it would just scare them away; he sent his people into every corner of the forest; he left Maglor to deal with the aftermath, he left Ambarussa on their brothers' graves, he left the ruins and devastation behind, and now, five nights and six days after, he was wondering - why.
He stopped, leaning on the nearby willow. The stars were shimmering quietly, looking at him from the patch of the sky not closed by the branches; the wind was howling in the trees, cold and ignorant, predicting the harsh winter.
Maedhros shivered, tucking himself in his cape, and listened.
...there was nothing. As if forest itself felt silent, not wishing to give away its secrets to the man responsible for its destruction. He listened; listened hard, trying to grasp the tiniest whisper, the most quiet whimper, the smallest sob; trying to reach to them, to catch them, to hear anything that could've lead him.
The silence was the answer.
Sometimes, the stars sighed quietly, the silence is the sign of an end.
Sometimes, Maedhros replied stubbornly, the silence is a sign for you to mind your own business. Shut up, Varda.
He raised his torch and continued searching.

In the end, it was silence glaring at him from the old abandoned den.
Maedhros stilled, trying to listen. The silence was an answer.
He rushed to the hiding.
They were curled together, night robes (they didn't even had the time to change) torn and dirty, leaves and branches tangled in the dark hair. Maedhros held his breath, listening, his hands trembling slightly.
"... Boys?..."
The silence was an answer.
Their bodies were too small, too cold in his hands. He breathed, pursing his lips.
"... I'm..."
He laid them down on the cold ground, setting them between the tree roots.
It was the fourth grave.
Four graves in less than a week.
And he didn't even know, he didn't even know why, why did this grave count as the fourth, why did he leave the graves of his own brothers behind, why did he feel like he failed the kids he didn't even know - but there were four, four graves, four graves he dug, five people he let down, five people who were dead because of him, and Maedhros - it didn't even matter, did it? It didn't matter, his hands were soaked in blood, and there were children in Alqualonde, weren't there? Two kids you slayed, two kids laying on the ground because you were scared, you were weak, you are doomed, doomed, doomed -
So when Túrin was in Doriath he was hidden from the eyes of Morgoth and thus Húrin. So presumably Húrin saw the plight of Morwen and Niënor and maybe even Aerin who is of course his kinswoman. He sees the birth of the daughter he will never meet, born in a cold, falling apart house with minimal resources and no official healer. Both Morwen and Niënor only survive because of Morwen’s resourcefulness and will as well as the limited help Aerin can give.
Does he know Túrin is still in Doriath? Most likely when he vanishes from Morgoth’s eyes he can guess. Húrin is probably smart enough to figure out that the Girdle can protect from this if he didn’t already know
And then nearly a decade later his unwilling vigil over Morwen and Niënor is broken by Túrin’s flight from Doriath which of course Húrin doesn’t know the context for
I also wonder just how much of the actual dialogue he can hear. Morgoth does say “through my ears you shall hear” but how much is distorted? Is this like the ice splinters in the ice Queen folktale where things look more cruel and harsh? Or does he see actually loving and tender moments as they are as a form of torture itself? Or perhaps both
What if Túrin (hypothetically) speaks in the Doriath dialect of Sindarin that he doesn’t himself speak. Can he understand it still?
I also wonder about the period of time Húrin spent as a captive after the death of his children. I believe he was taken back to Angband itself to prepare him for his release though he was not told of this. He also as I mentioned has one more brand in the form of a word carved into his chest just under his chin
Can he still see Morwen through the eyes of Morgoth? Lost and alone and…we know so little about the period in Morwen’s life either which makes speculation a necessity. Is she still included in the curse?
I’ve put together some of my thoughts on the nature of the curse here but there’s so much room for alternate versions and different interpretations
