under my tyrannical rule all characters will be on the aroace spectrum

john childermass just one chance give me just one chance
“But this in no way can compare with his face. His features are rather peculiar and, let us say, distinct, but his expression!.. A thunderstorm would be easier to paint, even with my limited skills in landscapes. For one, a weather event wouldn't judge me, nor huff impatiently from time to time, nor smile like it's laughing at some silent joke at my expense. I can see that it is his habitual attitude, and isn't aimed at me specifically, but it makes it no easier to grasp.”

I’m insane for forgetting to post this.. I think I tried a few months ago and couldn’t figure out how BUT ANYWAY FORGIVE ME.
Was very glad to inspire and I loved the work very much :’)
i have art ideas above my skill level (<- guy who does have that skill level but just can't manage it right now)
Like I will forever be obsessed with Lord Byron popping up in JSMN but especially how he just casually enters the Black Tower and documents Strange's madness for poetry inspiration
noncon friendship
And like who the fuck is this guy [gestures to reflection in mirror alone in bathroom
Whenever I get sad I think about how Jonathan Strange was in Brussels and panicked when he heard Napoleon's army was nearby and wound up putting Brussels (Netherlands) somewhere in Lakota territory (United States of America) and Wellington just accepted it in stride fully and his only concern with it was whether he could recruit into his army the Lakota men who entered Brussels (United States of America) to figure out what was happening
Ok so. This was initially written for a few friends who have been unwillingly exposed to my reading of the novel, so there are a few points here that are added for their sakes, but:
"english magic could no longer tell the difference between himself and Strange"
the lack of use of Norrell's name to the extent it genuinely confused me who was speaking
he's been doing this constantly since around the time Strange and Norrell had their last time meeting in February of 1815. it is currently February of 1817. He's been doing this for two years.
norrell is also doing magic in darkness. strange is like, magically cursed to have eternal night around him, but he is also a sort of herald for john uskglass (its clearly said on MANY occasions that the darkness belongs to John Uskglass). but this is norrell and he gets frightened by the dark
i cannot stress enough that norrell (short, middle aged, always wearing a light-colored wig) Also mistook himself for strange (tall, ~35, dark hair tinged with red)
i dont even know if it has been mentioned that strange has counterspells set up. like, he Might, i guess. i could've remembered wrong or something happened offscreen but. Its Unclear whether strange put up counterspells, yet Certain norrell could not see him.
In short this is insane
Being a fan of a morally grey character is frustrating because people will try to reduce them to either being an innocent little angel or a completely heartless monster and both of these interpretations just take away what makes the character interesting
Bertie Carvel as Jonathan Strange Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norrell (2015) 1.02 vs 1.06
I'm reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell for the first time
I hope Mr. Norrell fucking dies
1.06 - The Black Tower "I have a proposal for you, madam. I am able to give you your heart's desire, and in return you shall give me mine. I want you to teach me how to be mad." - Jonathan Strange to Madam Delgado, the woman who wants to become a cat
