i definitely have my preference but in retrospect the jafael/villadero ship war was so dumb bc the points against each guy usually apply to the other, like:
pushed jane to make the decision they wanted about the pregnancy: rafael (keep) â michael (abort/adopt) â
almost had sex with jane before marriage knowing how important her virginity was to her: rafael â michael â
went behind jane's back for their own gain: rafael â michael â
lied to/manipulated jane: rafael â michael â
was petty, jealous and unreasonably angry toward the other guy: rafael â michael â
shouted at jane: rafael â michael â
said nasty things to jane in the wake of her choosing the other guy: rafael â michael â
insinuated themselves into her life after the breakup: rafael â michael â
hit on her/professed love for her/refused to give up while she was dating the other guy: rafael â michael â
displayed a dark, violent side: rafael â michael â
put work ahead of jane and mateo at times: rafael â michael â
put jane and mateo in danger (unintentional): rafael â michael â
behaved imperfectly due to pride, ego, other male bullshit: rafael â michael â
we spent so much time villainizing one or the other when realistically it only came down to who/which dynamic we personally liked better
alice in borderland is a scary looking death game that becomes really fun to watch but squid game is a fun looking death game that has u crying by the end thatse it goodnight

John is very racist and sexist and we know this because every black person he's fought, he assumed would be weaker despite them having the same, or better, skillsets than him.
Right after he threatens Sam with a fight, he belittles him by offering to drop the sheild, as if they aren't both specially trained soldiers and an equal match.
He constantly "worries" over Sam to Bucky, always implying that Sam can't take care of himself DESPITE knowing Sam's a fucking superhero and has survived a plethora of worse things.
He talked down to Ayo and the Dora Milaje, then proceeded to have an existential crisis when they dropped him. Instead of accepting that the Dora Milaje are 1) more skilled than him and 2) stronger than him, he freaks out, to the point he's pushed to take the serum.
Why is it this the incident that pushes him over? He's a soldier, he's bound to have fought and lost to other none supersoldiers before.
But the fact that they're black women, particularly non-American black women, just makes it too much for him to handle.
