Yellow Justice

I ran out of UTY stuff for the moment, so decided to turn this into a UTDR AU collection thing. Like, I love Twinrunes and I'm playing Deltatraveler.

*slams hand on desk* I don't CARE if it's a non-canon fangame, UTY is still part of the family!

I'm choosing to believe that when they get to the surface, Martlet and Papyrus become friends and spend all their time together designing puzzles. Star and Undyne have literal fights- her with her Spears of Justice, him with his Sixgun of... well, of Justice, too, I guess- over "anime vs. westerns." Muffet and Mo start a cafe together. Mettaton asks Alphys to give a SOUL to Axis' fiancé (with Blooky standing conveniently nearby). The Feisty Five set up the Wild East in an IRL ghost town and Mew Mew becomes their dance hall queen, with Bailador and Shyren composing the music. Dalv starts writing children's books, and MK and Suzy are his biggest fans.

I have a tag that I'm calling "uty timeline." I keep coming up with crossover headcanons between Yellow and Undertale, like in the post above. Was gonna tag them as "undertale red" but then found out there already is a fangame called "Undertale Red." So I came up with "uty timeline" instead, for things that take place in Frisk's time or after reaching the surface, but in the UTY universe.

Hope that makes sense.

What really gets me about this picture is that Ceroba was the fun, goofy one here. She's got her arm around Starlo, making a peace sign, and blepping at the camera.

She seems really approachable and fun here. I like this kid.

And then one day she just decided, "I wanna grow up and not be like that anymore."

I just... smh, that's just SAD to me.

Ok, I know we all love our reluctant vampire, our scatterbrained royal guard, our nerdy sheriff, our angry kitsune mother, and Gun-Hat. But can we stop for a moment to appreciate the vengeful flower prince?

Flowey has a larger role in UTY than in the original, and from time to time, we get to see a little Asriel sneak thru. Not like his sickly sweet "golly, you must be so confused" when we first meet him in OGUT, but some real, child-like personality.

And on top of that, some dialogue and talk sprites show a little sympathy for him.

In this game, Flowey gets no redemption arc. I don't mean that as a criticism, it's because his redemption arc is in OG UT, we all know how it goes, and it wouldn't make sense for him to get a redemption arc in the prequel. It's just a statement of fact, he doesn't have a redemption arc in Yellow. So it's nice that the writers put in these little bits of humor and sympathy in his character, reminding us of who he actually is: not some evil demon looking to take over the multiverse, but a bored, scared kid who's learned that everyone he ever loved wasn't who he thought they were.

omigosh, you did! I see so few people talk about the possibility that Dalv fought Integrity to protect Kanako.

I mean, that's probably just a fanon idea, but he does have that one line when he thinks Clover is Integrity, where Dalv says "I don't know what I did to you back then," which seems to indicate he did try to fight back.

After multiple games of Six-Shooter (mostly losses), I have determined that the best way to play is to start at the top left and clear cards diagonally or vertically first.

Ok, I really have to comment further on this:

We have no clue what made Crestina stop singing, but apparently it was back when the kids were little. I see absolutely nothing in the family dynamics that could indicate why she just stopped. My guess would be that her voice just aged more than she would have liked, and she just didn't like the sound of it anymore.

Now take a look at her children. Orion (who I headcanon as the younger brother) is the responsible one, bitter and angry at Starlo, working on their pa's farm. Meanwhile, Star is the irresponsible LARP-er that never grew up or had a family. But why is that? Largely because of Ceroba (I'll go into more detail on that in another post).

Crestina lacks confidence in her singing even tho Solomon seems to think she would still have a nice voice. We don't know much else about her. Solomon is the head of the family, proud of his family, no indication that he isn't content with his life as a farmer, and the only tiny bit of negativity we see about it is that he was apparently worried when the drought happened (as any farmer would be).

So. We have Crestina, who is very loving and kind, but also just a little insecure and unconfident about certain things about herself for reasons unknown. We have Starlo, who is insecure unconfident about almost EVERYTHING about himself. We have Solomon, who is stoic, steady, and content, as well as a good provider and protector for his family. And we have the North Star persona, who is overconfident about everything, but also views himself as the protector and provider for his town.

Ergo: Starlo takes after his momma, and unfortunately, magnified her only bad quality into pretty much his whole personality. North Star, then, may be a subconscious way for Starlo to try to measure up to his pa.

Maybe that's one reason why Starlo was so fascinated with westerns in the first place? They speak with his pa's accent, and the sheriffs and cowboys in those stories are as stoic and strong as his pa.

Maybe Starlo is like, "Aw, shucks, I'll never be able to be like my pa. But maybe, just maybe, I can be like these guys." Never once realizing that the reason they fascinate him so much is because the qualities he's absorbing from them are the ones he admires in his own father.

Ok, so... I owe y'all an apology.

As I was writing that post, I realized that I have almost no real evidence (as in, there's more incontrovertible evidence that Gaster is behind everything and Papyrus is somewhere in Deltarune), and most of it was headcanons. In my defense, I still say these headcanons make a lot of sense; however, there's very little hard proof and I just can't call it an "analysis." So I was gonna save all those headcanons for the fic I'm writing.

If anyone still wants to see it, I can still post it- it's sitting in my drafts and was very fun to write- but bear in mind that it's all fanon.

Also, one other point (also mostly my own ideas): I've also come to a conclusion that Ceroba isn't the primary reason that Starlo lacks confidence. Maybe half of it. The rest might just be that he respects his pa but thinks he'll never be as good as him. Because Solomon's the big, sturdy farmer, and Starlo's a nerd built like four twigs tied to a wisp of hay. Starlo (I think) has neither the physique nor the interest in farm work, and only does it out of a sense of duty and respect to his family rather than any real desire to be a farmer.

Thinking about the similarities between Clover's Big Shot and Asriel Dreemurr's death ray that drops your HP to .0000...1.

And Clover at one point load nails in the gun, and Flowey does that one nail attack that is very, very similar to the fingers that Omega Flowey shoots at you.

Just wondering how many of Flowey's attack were stolen from the SOUL's.

You know the Justice theme? I'm gonna hafta make a longer post about it, but I'm pretty sure Starlo composed that theme within the UTY universe, and then Flowey stole one motif from it to use when we die, and Clover borrowed a different part for their SOUL theme in the Omega Flowey fight.

And I wish I could find it again, but there used to be a video that actually ran thru all the uses of the Yellow Soul leitmotif in UTY. And I kid you not, this video pointed out that Yellow Soul is the opening notes of Wild East and all the building themes. If anyone can find the video I'm talking about, plz shoot me the link so I can know I'm not crazy.

Also, when it comes to Flowey and Justice, I'm not really suggesting that he intentionally took a theme from Starlo- more like Starlo wrote it, and Flowey just really liked it and decided to use it (because UTY Flowey really likes the whole western motif, that's something else I need to make a full post about).

It may be a stretch to say that Flowey got a theme from Starlo, but Clover DEFINITELY did.

And I mean, we're talking about the same flower who just outright stole Patience's theme, note for note, and claimed it was his own, so I don't think he's above stealing from other monsters.
