Let me make some things clear first before I go into saying what I’m about to say about Grogu’s recent flashback of Order 66 at the Jedi Temple.
Firstly I’m glad that Kelleran Beq finally got the recognition he’s been deserved but that’s been deprived from him in the Star Wars universe and franchise. And secondly (and lastly) I honestly couldn’t think of a better Jedi then him to be the one who saved Grogu on that night on Coruscant.
Despite that , I was and am disappointed that Anakin didn’t once make an appearance while Kelleran and Grogu were making their escape. I find it a little difficult to believe that with how important and even more special Grogu was , giving how he likely was the last of Yoda’s kind that Anakin wouldn’t have (and didn’t) make a straight B line for him and instead just let the Clone troopers handle him. You would think Anakin would want to be the one that night to handle Grogu, to make sure Grogu didn’t escape and survive like he did.
And yes Anakin most definitely knew about Grogu and about his existence as most people who lived and trained in the temple did. Anakin lived there and trained there ever since Kenobi took him under his wing when he was nothing but a child. Him not knowing about Grogu would just be nonsense and straight up crazy and unrealistic.
It’s unrealistic that Kelleran and Grogu’s escape from the burning temple, that was a current battle field and war zone that night was as easy as it was shown to be. With how special and rare Grogu was , realistically Anakin wouldn’t have let them escape so easily, not without a fight. With the skilled and talented Jedi’s that both Anakin and Kelleran were, it most definitely would’ve been an epic fight scene between the two , with Grogu of course only able to be a spectator , safely watching in his floating pod.
With by some miraculous way, Kelleran would have momentarily been able to either disarm Anakin from his lightsaber or momentarily knock him down to the ground, affording him and Grogu a quick escape finally. But not before Kelleran looked back and seen Anakin’s red Sith eyes, making him apart of the small group that knows Anakin is Darth Vader and the next and new Sith Lord. Not that he wouldn’t have already known that during their fight.
Make it make since Star Wars, no way would Grogu not be on the top of Anakin’s kill list that night at the temple. Yes all younglings and Jedi were on his list and Yes Grogu was a youngling like the others, but he was the last of Yoda’s kind making him a far more crucial target and a far more important target as well.
