Healthy people who say stuff like “they’re still doing things so they can’t be in THAT much pain” need to understand that after a certain point pain becomes boring. No, you never get used to the pain, but you do gradually become bored. After months or years of mindless suffering in bed eventually you learn how to watch TV, do a light hobby, etc. even while in extreme pain, simply because chronic pain is incredibly dull and humans need entertainment.

I personally wanna see less 'you are not a burden/it's not work to love you' and more 'you are worth the work it takes to love you.' I KNOW I'm a burden sometimes. that isn't such a terrible thing! humans are strong. we can carry burdens. and it is work for me to be there for my friends, but it's work I'm willing to do.
we need to acknowledge this because pretending love isn't work will never make people like me feel less guilty for accepting love. we need to talk about it so people don't feel bad for having boundaries and not always being up to do the work. we need to accept it so we can properly appreciate what others do for us and what we're doing for them.
yes it does take work to love you. but guess what? you still deserve love, and you deserve people who are willing to do the work to love you. it doesn't make you bad. all love take work. and everyone is worth it.
Tbh it gets a little exhausting seeing so much emphasis on “Raise the minimum wage! Pay workers for their labour!” and then dead silence about unemployed people and people who are unable to work and disabled people. We deserve a liveable income too.

OH, I love his funky little hat. The blue is a nice touch, reminds me of The Sims building music and I’m a general fan of his dramatic strolling structure, 9/10

I can’t help but feel like you’re underselling the UK one by only focusing on the triangle portion of the signage. when there’s a striped crossing w/ speed bumps there’s a great text addition that when I visited back in the day (uh.. somewhere around the year 1999 or 2000?) makes me think of potato chip cookies (the recipe was given to my mom when she married my dad by his... grandmother I think?, because they were his favorite). yes, you read that right, cookies w/ potato chips in them. people were always surprised by that combo, but once we convinced them to try them they always like them. they’re like... a really rich shortbread. but yeah, you grind up/crush the chips like that (a task usually given to the youngest person in the house to keep them busy for a little while - which in my lifetime was generally me).
...it’s really too bad I shouldn’t eat potatoes anymore and so can’t have them anymore.

because otherwise people will hound them, mock them, coax them, harass them, try to force them to eat it, or even trick them into eating it, and they will never hear the end of it
your coworkers will bake it into a fucking pie, call it something else, and wait til your birthday, gather everyone and their first cousins to sit around in a circle waiting for you to put a forkful into your mouth and then point rhythmically at you in a chanting, glaring, sweating, unholy circle like SWISS CHARD SWISS CHARD YOU JUST ATE SWISS CHARD HA HA HA SWISS CHARD NOW YOU LIKE SWISS CHARD
Because forcing someone into a situation where they don’t feel safe declining putting something into their body they’d rather not be there is totes 100% wholesome American fun
And this is something so known that it’s infinitely easier to just lie and tell people that you’ll die if you eat that food…which actually doesn’t always stop it from happening

Heyyyy! Happened to me a LOT! Had a lady sneak gluten in the soup and said “it’s gluten free don’t worry!” And waited and WATCEHD ME take a bite before she added “I put in some flour to thicken it though but it just a small amount. You’ll be fine, right?
“No I need to go forcefully throw this up so I can enjoy the rest of this party not in debilitating amounts of pain thank you”
I’d say people are also very ignorant of other food issues as well. technically I lie and say I’m allergic to certain things, when they are actually sensitivities. I will be sick if I eat them, because of an immune response if I eat them, but I will not die. it takes longer for the reaction to happen as well, but it is still a reaction even if it is milder. but people don’t get the distinction, just like they don’t understand intolerances either... but they do, to some extent, understand what an allergy is - even if they’re assholes about it. so I say it’s an allergy. because it’s easier than trying to explain what a sensitivity is (and possibly have them tell me that sounds fake or something) and it at least conveys the idea of ‘I should not eat this thing or there will be problems’.
but before I was aware of my sensitivities, they still expressed themselves as preferences. I did not know WHY I did not like the thing, but I did not want to eat the thing. I spent my whole childhood and into adulthood being given shit for being such a picky eater, and a vegetarian, etc... and more people have these issues than even realize it - so until we can normalize testing for this stuff (which we should - far too many people are eating things they don’t realize are making them sicker than they have to be), maybe just respect people’s food preferences? please?
but really there shouldn’t even have to be a medical justification for it. ‘I do not want to eat this thing’ should be enough of a reason to respect that person’s wishes.

I AM SO GLAD YOU READ MY TAGS AND UNDERSTAND ME.
Okay so in a few movies (like Muppet Frog Prince, which I love and which EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT IS GREAT), Sweetums is the villain. But the Muppets are very clear he just PLAYS the villain there because they need someone giant who looks scary, he’s actually sweet and gentle and likes bunnies. He’s a character who has a lot of raw power but doesn’t really know what to do with it.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? OF COURSE IT DOES. BECAUSE HE’S A FUCKING JEDI.
Also his outfit is really tattered but I think you can make a reasonable argument it looks like Jedi robes.

i feel like a really important implication here is that Bean the Bunny (best known for his lead role in “Bunny Picnic” and the Muppets 3D experience at Disney World) is his first padawan.
Bean is so eager to learn and be seen as important and special and part of the team.
It’s very important that Sweetums is a good mentor because that sweet kid is like three rejections from the Dark Side.
