If the worst of humanity had to pick one of the twins, who and why?
Thinking about Trigun Stampede. Apart of Nai's arguments for his actions is that he thought Vash would end up like Tesla. Saying that Vash didn't have abilities and whatnot. I had the thought, a dark question: who to pick if it went down, one of the twins ending up like Tesla?
As far as we know, Rem was the only human not in cryo at the time? And she found Vash and Nai. And chose to prevent “Tesla events” from happening to Vash and Nai. I think to Nai, she was the one pillar of humanity who could keep them safe, but for how long? What would happen when more humans came out of cryo? Would it have been similar to the tension on the ship in ‘98 Trigun?
If more humans had came out of cryo, and had ill intentions like the Doctor, would they have been successful in taking one of the twins away for “Tesle events.”
The summary of my thoughts is that, I think Nai was afraid there could have been a higher chance that he would have ended up like Tesla instead of Vash.
In Tristamp, Nai says that Vash doesn’t have powers. So, its assumed he’s a “dud” of a plant. Its assumed that Nai does at this point. Of the two, who to spend your efforts on? Who is the spider and who is the butterfly in this situation?
Vash is the butterfly - his sweet nature; his charm; Rem did favor him more; no powers? not worth the effort to test and measure if there is nothing there??
Nai is the spider - assumed to have powers, would be worth testing on; whenever Rem interacted with both in Tristamp, she always reached out for Vash first, embraced him or held his hand first, so I wonder if Nai picked up on that; Felt envy towards Vash about Rem and about how Vash was better at piano and other talents.
I feel like, maybe Nai was sensing that it was only evitable, when other humans would want to test on one of them. And that, he had several routes to consider. 1. do as he did in the show. 2. try to compete with Vash to not be picked. 3. try to be like Vash, to hope that both wouldn’t be picked at all.
