in my civics class, we were talking about what happened yesterday for obvious reasons. and my teacher shared a picture of the senators hiding behind benches because they didn't know if the white supremacists had guns and were going to shoot at them. one of my classmates commented, "oh hey, they sort of look like us when we're doing school shooting drills"

i've never seen a teacher who has been that lost for words

High schoolers are now being forced to choose between their grades and feeling safe. Many classes fill them with loads of busy work, rushing lessons to meet testing deadlines, with no care for what's going on at home or how scary the world they live in is right now. All so the schools can get money and funding, so the economy can keep turning, and parents have some place to send them

While in close quarters in lock down during a domestic terrorist attack, many Republican senators still refused to wear a mask and mocked the people trying to offer them one. Multiple people have now tested positive from this super spreader event.
