Writing is like, type type type, clackity clack clack- and whoops im on social media now
i take physical and mental damage every time i see a writer outright say they hate writing
I don't hate writing, I hate the process of writing. Why can't I just think a good story onto the page without having to do all the bullshit
If only it were that easy.
New character, and still working on her lore! Meet Vol, aka Volcanic.
Showing 'Jealousy' in Writing
Eyes narrowing with a sharp, intense stare.
Clenched jaw and pursed lips.
Crossing arms defensively.
Making snide or sarcastic remarks.
Glancing repeatedly at the object of jealousy.
Trying to outdo or one-up the rival.
Faking a smile that doesn’t reach the eyes.
Speaking in a tense, clipped tone.
Avoiding eye contact with the person they’re jealous of.
Drumming fingers impatiently on a surface.
Feeling a burning sensation in the chest.
Sighing loudly or rolling their eyes.
Gritting teeth and taking deep, forced breaths.
Biting their lower lip hard.
Tapping foot incessantly.
Passive-aggressively commenting on the situation.
Mimicking or mocking the rival’s behavior.
Frequently changing the subject away from the rival.
Feeling a knot tighten in their stomach.
Casting resentful, sidelong glances.
Showing 'Exhaustion' in Writing
Heavy eyelids, struggling to stay open.
Slumping shoulders, barely able to hold themselves up.
Dragging feet with each step.
Speaking in a slow, slurred manner.
Dark circles under the eyes.
Yawning frequently and deeply.
Head nodding forward, trying to stay awake.
Leaning heavily against walls or furniture.
Rubbing eyes and face with hands.
Deep, weary sighs escaping lips.
Wincing at bright lights or loud sounds.
Staring blankly ahead, unable to focus.
Weak, unsteady movements.
Muttering incoherently to themselves.
Falling asleep in unusual places.
Lack of response or delayed reactions.
Propping their head up with their hand.
Collapsing onto the nearest available surface.
Swaying slightly on their feet.
Barely lifting their head to speak or listen.
IT’S MARCH
Uh… It’s still May…
It’s august

Hey. Been a while, yeah? I've been so preoccupied with life and games that I haven't even thought about doing much here.
Now, that doesn't mean I haven't been writing! Recently, I made the choice to redo The Hellkeep Legacy. I was far from happy about the previous version and was constantly getting stuck. It simply wasn't flowing as it should.
I'm much, much happier with the rewrite. I'm not very far (I wasn't in the first, either) and I'm slowly but surely chipping away at it. Usually in little creative bursts when my brain decides it's gonna come up with something to write, but it's getting worked on regardless.
Hopefully I can be a little more active on here, but we'll see if my brain lets me!
Until next time! - Ves
Full offense but your writing style is for you and nobody else. Use the words you want to use; play with language, experiment, use said, use adverbs, use “unrealistic” writing patterns, slap words you don’t even know are words on the page. Language is a sandbox and you, as the author, are at liberty to shape it however you wish. Build castles. Build a hovel. Build a mountain on a mountain or make a tiny cottage on a hill. Whatever it is you want to do. Write.

Character Voice Tag
Tagged by @rjcopeseethemald - Thank you! If I don't do this now, when I've seen it, I'm 100% gonna forget.
Rules: Rewrite the line given to you in the voice of your characters! Pass on the tag with a new line of dialogue. You may also include a bit of action to go along.
My line: "Woah, you scared me!"
Your line: "What... are you doing?"
Necrotia: (Jumps a bit and laughs.) "You startled me!" Vesyl: "...You managed to scare me, not smart. Don't do it again." (Grins dangerously with sharp teeth.) Valerie: "What the fuck?! Why would you scare me like that?" (Glares, hand on belted knife.)
I don't have many characters to add to this list at the moment, but here are a few of my favorites! All from different worlds.
I'ma leave this as an open tag for anyone that might wanna do it! <3
site that you can type in the definition of a word and get the word
site for when you can only remember part of a word/its definition
site that gives you words that rhyme with a word
site that gives you synonyms and antonyms
THAT FIRST SITE IS EVERY WRITER’S DREAM DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I’VE TRIED WRITING SOMETHING AND THOUGHT GOD DAMN IS THERE A SPECIFIC WORD FOR WHAT I’M USING TWO SENTENCES TO DESCRIBE AND JUST GETTING A BUNCH OF SHIT GOOGLE RESULTS
This one’s an always-reblog, because who knows who needs it and hasn’t seen it yet?
Say it with me folks: it counts as working on your wips if you're planning/outlining/researching. YOU DONT HAVE TO WRITE ALL THE TIME
Does playing a video game picking an OCs choices count lmao?? I swear it's for character purposes
I DO THAT ON MASS EFFECT ALL THE TIME
Yo same! Mass Effect and Dragon Age are my favourites to do it in
I love making my characters in games and playing based off their personality! I've done that in Guild Wars 2 and Skyrim.
Hey idk what writer/artist/creative needs to hear this but: You can create the most garbage self-indulgent poorly made full-of-cliches awkward ugly piece of art on the entire planet and you're still allowed to be proud of it and share it with the world. In fact, I outright encourage you to be proud. You deserve it. I love you. Keep making things.

your writing does not have to be perfect! no matter if you keep it simple or use lots of prose, whether you prefer more dialogue or more descriptions, or if your sentences have few or many words, it doesn't need to be a literary masterpiece. do what feels right for you. do whatever you enjoy the most, and don't stress yourself too much about it because chances are, there will be people who like your writing regardless.
i don’t like that poll bc there’s no sense in people choosing “no” and being hard on themselves so here’s a better one
Are you a good writer?
“good” is subjective
what’s good to one isn’t to another
find value in your talents
you’re a good writer
even if you make mistakes
even if you can improve
you’re still a good writer because you’re /writing/
keep going
you’re a good writer
