My favorite fictional character is Jumenta Voadora, "The Flying (female) Donkey" in english. She is the protector spirit of plastic food containers and haunts people who don't take good care of theirs and also makes sure children aren't harmed.

Providing a cultural context: Monica's Gang is the biggest Brazilian comic strip, in circulation since 1964. It features 7-year-old children living adventures. In the 2000s, the Japanese manga craze hit hard, (Just as this influenced Witch with her artistic style) so the magazine needed to catch on to that as well, and that's how the spinoff Turma da Mônica Jovem (Monica's Gang Young) came about. This is a manga about a group of kids who are now teenagers and living bigger adventures. It started in 2008 and is still active today; you could say it's like a Brazilian Witch if you want to draw parallels (I do, there are many story arcs to discuss). Which isn't so absurd, considering that when TMJ started, Witch was in its final issues, so it was almost like a passing of the torch.

That being said, you can't imagine what a phenomenon this issue's arc was.
