So my local museum has an exhibit about tyrannosaurs right now, and of course I had to go because I fucking love tyrannosaurs. T.rex got to be in the main hall, but the rest had their own room.
Lythronax was the first one to greet us!
God, such a beautiful tyrannosaur. Really underrated dinosaur, Lythronax. I love how delicate her jaws are compared to the others.
Several other tyrannosaurs were represented with their skulls next to each other so you could really see how they differed!
But the coolest one... will have to wait for the reblog because this post has hit its image limit.
Ok, seriously, look at this! It's Albertosaurus and Daspletosaurus, posing together like a pair of tyrannosaur buddy cops! You can see how much more robust Daspletosaurus was by the comparison.
They had a juvenile T.rex skull, too! I'm kinda disappointed they brought up the whole "nanotyrannus" concept, though, I'm pretty sure that genus has been thoroughly debunked by this point.
There were some pretty fun models on display, too!
Plus a fun gallery of dinosaur movie posters!
A hokey CGI project of tyrannosaurs running amok in our city!
And a neat little display showing how more modern birds compare to dinosaurs!
