Howdy! My name's Violet! I'll primarily be using this blog to post my art & talk about my silly AU's! I probably won't post very often, but feel free to ask me anything! ✧˖°
“Nice legs, LDG,” Cesare calls out to her as they get within range, trying to ignore the shaking of his own voice. “Did you grow them yourself, or just pick ‘em out of a graveyard on the way over?”
After reading @whiskerknittles fic (Chosen For A) Second Chane At Life I thought it'd be fun to draw LDG, legs & all! 𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊
(I had initially planned to make a video about this topic, but despite my best efforts. I ran out of time. I'll definitely still be making a video on the subject, but given that we're currently less than an HOUR AWAY form the release of Deltarune Chapter's 3 & 4, I thought it might be better to share this now. After all, everything in this au is from a post chapter 2, pre chapter's 3 & 4, perspective, so certain digivolution lines might be subject to change.)
I would like to stress that this AU is still in its infancy & given that Deltarune isn’t currently a completed game, I think I can get away with that for now. Despite holding onto this AU for the past four years, I haven’t really flushed much of it out, but what I have done is put together the potential digivolution lines for the majority of Deltarune’s cast & in this post I’d like to go over those lines.
A couple quick disclaimers before we get into the meat & potatoes of this post. There will obviously be spoilers for Deltarune Chapters 1 & 2, so if you still haven’t played them I’d recommend doing that first. For now. I'll only be focusing on characters that are exclusive to Deltarune.
For all the digimon nerds watching, I will occasionally be using the Reference Book to give context for some of my choices & at other times I’ll be politely inviting it to visit the trash can. I personally view the Reference Book’s take on digimon to be more of a suggestion on how they should be portrayed & less of guideline. I’ll also be using armor evolutions & mode changes as standalone digivolutions, no gimmicks required.
One last thing to mention, I should note that I’m not the first person to assign these characters partner digimon or come up with digivolution lines for them. I’m not even the first person to put these two franchises together, but the lines that I’ve put together are different enough from what I’ve seen online. So, hopefully this Au isn’t stepping on anyone’s toes or anything like that…
Now without further ado, let’s start off with our very own puppet, Kris Dreemur!
——————————————————————————————————
KRIS DREEMUR
——————————————————————————————————
Coming up with a digivolution line for Kris was a bit of a challenge, because we really don’t know that much about them, outside of secondhand knowledge from other characters, but also because I had to consider the player & how our actions as the player could potentially affect the digivolution process for Kris’s partner.
Rookie
Because of this, I chose Spadamon as the rookie. A digimon that wears armor & wields a sword similar to Kris, It’s reference book entry states that it’s “capable of either saving the world in the hands of an angle, or destroying it in the hands of a devil” Toby Fox has said that Deltarune will only have one ending, but if post game Berdly & Noelle are any indication, I have no doubt that our actions as the player will affect that ending in some way or another. Also the little star symbol on Spadamon’s Helmet resembles both the save icon & the titans that are depicted in the prophecy. So, yknow that’s just a fun little nod to the impending doom that awaits our protagonists.
Champion
For the Champion, I went with Togemogumon. Normally I don’t like to flip flop between digimon being bipedal & quadrupedal as their digivolution line progresses, but I felt like Togemogumon was a solid choice because of its striking resemblance to Spadamon. They both wear blue armor in all the same places & the circle on Spadamon’s gauntlets becomes the crest of friendship as it digivolves, which I think is a really neat detail.
Ultimate
Moving on, I decided to use Panjyamon as the Ultimate. I don’t have a character specific reason for using Panjyamon in Kris’s line, other than the obvious visual similarities to Spadamon & the fact that it also wields a sword. What can I say, I think it’s cool when the digimon wields the same weapon as its partner.
Mega
Finally, I wanted to use BanchoLeomon as the Mega. The term “Bancho” has several definitions, but the one digimon seems to be focusing on is the title given to a leader of juvenile delinquents in Japan during the 1960’s. In Deltarune Chapter 1 it can be assumed that acting is something only the leader of the party can do, but In Chapter 2, during the Sweet, Cap’n, Cakes fight, Ralsei specifically states that acting is Kris’s unique talent. (This of course is changed when Susie learns S- action & forces Ralise to learn R- action, but I digress.) I’d argue that for all intents & purposes, Kris is the party leader, but considering that I have control over the majority of their actions, that might be a bit biased. Also, while I don’t think Kris is a bad kid, their pension for pranking their friends might slot them into the delinquent category for some of the adults in Home town.
——————————————————————————————————
SUSIE
——————————————————————————————————
Next up, we’ve got the violent tormentor herself, Susie! Again, much like Kris, Susie is a character we still don’t know that much about, outside of how she’s perceived by her peers, but unlike Kris, Susie has no issue speaking for herself which gives us a lot of insight into who she truly is. She can be intimidating & aggressive, she’s unafraid to speak her mind & voice her disdain for anyone who opposes her, but underneath that face eating persona, she’s just a lonely kid who’s been heavily misunderstood by everyone around her.
Rookie
Which is exactly why I chose Psychemon as her Rookie. Most digimon fans are aware that Gabumon isn’t actually a wolf & is, in fact, a funky little lizard & given that Psychemon is just a recolor of Gabumon, the same can definitely be said for them. Susie hides herself by embracing the whole bully shtick that her classmates have forced onto her. (despite none of them actually seeing her beat anyone up). Much like how Psychemon dons its wolf pelt to appear more intimidating to other digimon as a way of protecting itself.
Champion
As we progress through Chapter’s 1 & 2, we can see Susie start to open up more, even referring to Kris, Ralsie, and Lancer as her friends & my hope for Susie is that she’ll eventually be able to be her self in the light world as well, without the fear of rejection or ridicule from her peers. I want Susie’s line to reflect this. Where as Gabumon typically becomes more wolf like as it digivolves, literally embodying the pelt it hides itself behind. I want Susie’s partner to go in the opposite direction, by slowly becoming the reptile that it truly is, which is why I chose Dorugamon as Susie’s Champion. Now Dorugamon is fully covered in a fluffy pelt, but it’s clearly taken on a more draconic appearance and we’ll be going in that direction for the rest of the line.
Ultimate
For the Ultimate, I decided to use Cyberdramon due to its striking similarity to Susie… I mean y’know, in the facial region at least. Also, jut look this thing & try to tell me that Susie wouldn’t be proud as hell to have this badass cyborg dragon as her partner.
Mega
Now as I stated with Kris’s line, I like it when the digimon wield the same weapon as their partner’s & while there are plenty of digimon who carry axes, none of them felt like they fit with the rest of this line. So for awhile I was considering Callismon due to it looking like a perfect match with Susie’s appearance in the Dark World, but I felt like it ruined the metaphor by going back to being more bestial & losing the draconic elements of the rest of the line. It also kinda made Cyberdramon stick out like a sore thumb, so I decided to drop Callismon & head back to the drawing board. I couldn’t decide on a Mega level for the longest time, until I discovered Exogrimmon. Not only is it a purple dragon, but it’s cybernetic which ties in with the previous digivolution & look, it even has a little axe at the tip of its tail!
——————————————————————————————————
RALSEI
——————————————————————————————————
Moving along, let’s take a look at the prince of darkness, Ralsei.
Rookie
For our fluffy prince’s rookie I decided on Cutemon, not only because they have the exact same scarf, but because Cutemon is also a healer just like Ralsie. It’s reference book entry states that “Cutemon has the ability to heal wounds & will sometimes approach an injured digimon to help it recover” which, if you’ll remover, is exactly what Ralsie does at the end of King’s boss battle in Chapter 1.
Champion
For the Champion it felt like a no brainer to use Sheepmon because of its pink horns. Fun fact, because darkners are actually the personification of objects from the light world, many fans have speculated that Ralsie himself is actually the personification of Kris’s red headband which they lost when they were younger. Sheepmon’s reference book entry states that “it uses it’s special move, Wool Grenade, to forcefully put enemy’s to sleep during battle” which, again, is exactly what Ralsie does, albeit in a much less violent manner.
Ultimate
Pajiramon seems like an obvious Ultimate for Sheepmon, but I was surprised to see how well it fit in with Ralsie as well. Its reference book entry mentions that it’s “a powerful individual, ruling over the world of dreams” & that it prefers “pseudonyms such as the Deva of Darkness”. Much like Sheepmon it can also use its weapon to fire arrows of light that “hold the power to put its enemies to sleep”.
Mega
Finally, to bring this line around, full circle, I chose Cherubimon Virtue as the Mega for Ralsie’s line. This giant pink rabbit is actually a holy digimon & given Ralsie’s ability to cast Heal Prayer, a spell that calls upon heavens light to heal the injured, it seemed like the perfect way to reference one of Ralsie’s abilities while also using a digimon that resembles its rookie digivolution.
——————————————————————————————————
NOELLE HOLIDAY
——————————————————————————————————
So, unlike some of the other lines in this video, where I was dealing with a lack of options that I thought worked well the digimon’s assigned partner, Noelle presented me with an even worse problem… which was an a abundance of options that all fit her perfectly.
Rookie
To this day, the only digimon that I have set in stone for Noelle is her rookie, SnowAgumon. There are a multitude of Agumon variants & the reason I chose this one in particular was to reference her ice magic, but more specifically as a reference to the Susie Statue that’s located in Noelle’s room in Queen’s mansion. (Pro tip, you can actually steal the statue & the ice-e cryptid as decor for Kris & Susie’s rooms in castle town!)
(Now from here on out, I’ll be going over all the digimon I think would fit in Noelle’s line in order of their levels.)
Champion
So let’s get started with my favorite pick for Noelle’s Champion, Gargoylemon. It’s the perfect digimon to bridge together SnowAgumon into a line themed around angels. I also just really love their design.
moving onto my original pick for Noelle’s Champion, Fridgimon. I can so clearly see the digivolution sequence in my head for this guy. Picture it with me, it’s SnowAgumon spinning around when all of a sudden, a blizzard starts to take over the screen & as the rookie becomes engulfed in the snow, we see close up shots of it’s limbs taking shape, and when the body is fully formed it glows, turning the screen white for a brief second before it cuts back to a fully formed Fridgimon. Wouldn’t that be neat?
The final Champion I’ve picked out for Noelle is Sorcerimon. This is a pretty simple option, they’re both blond ice mages. It’s reference book entry states that it can also use “light magic and has the ability to heal wounds with the holy power of prayer” which matches up with perfectly Noelle’s ability to use Heal Prayer. Sorcerimon can also summon storm clouds with its wand “in order to cause a massive blizzard” which makes this digimon a good candidate for the snowgrave route.
Ultimate
Up first for the Ultimate level is HolyAngemon Priest Mode. There are a ton of angelic digimon that could be used in a line for Noelle, but I chose this one in particular specifically because i thought it looked like a male coded gijinka version of Noelle… I wish I had a better reason than that, but it’s all I could think of when I first saw this guy. It also makes a pretty good evolution for Gargoylemon & Sorcerimon, so I guess there’s that too.
An obvious choice for a Fridgimon digivolution would be Polarbearmon. In both Chapter's you can check the poster next to the water fountain & see that both Noelle & Jockington are on the track team. So using Polarbearmon as reference to Noelle’s more athletic side could be an interesting choice.
Mega
When I first saw this design, I went ballistic, not just because I’m gay, but because a digimon draped in white fabric, with long blond hair that’s surrounded by an army mice & little bluebirds fits Noelle SO PERFECTLY. Cendrillmon’s reference book entry states (-), which given the underlying themes of marriage between Kris & Noelle throughout the snowgrave route, makes it the perfect digimon for that kind of play through. That being said, proceeding through the snowgrave route causes you to skip all the mouse puzzles, so maybe Cendrillmon could work as the mega for a pacifist run as well.
To finish up the more bear centric line, we could use Skadimon, who appears to have a Yukibetamon inside a snow globe which acts as its head. I haven’t brought them up in this video, but I do have picks for what all the lightners baby & in-training level digimon would be & I think Yukibetamon is an obvious choice for Noelle’s partner, so having Skadimon be the mega could bring the line full circle.
If i had to choose my favorite line, I'd go with SnowAgumon -> Gargoylemon -> HolyAngemon PM -> Cendrillmon, but I can't ignore how much the other options fit her as well.
Now, before we move on to everyone’s favorite bluebird I wanted to go over something I thought of while I was writing the script for this video. I’m not usually a fan of digidestined having more than one partner (Nokia from digimon cybersluthe is like the only exception), but for this AU I thought it would be interesting to give Noelle another digimon, specifically another Agumon. The catch being that this Agumon wouldn’t actually be Noelle’s partner, meaning that it wouldn’t be able to digivolve. Deltarune nerds have probably already guessed where I’m going with this, but for those unaware, it’s revealed in chapter 2 that Noelle has a missing sister, December Holiday. Everything surrounding Dess is shrouded in mystery & speculation so this idea maybe subject to change, but this second Agumon would actually be December’s partner. Now you might be asking yourself, why isn’t this Agumon with Dess? or how did it even find Noelle? & those are both great questions that I don’t actually have any answers for! I just thought it’d be a potential opportunity for angst if I gave Noelle her sister’s partner as well. *shrug*
——————————————————————————————————
BERDLY
——————————————————————————————————
So, all the way back in 2022, Berdly was the first character I came up with a digivolution line for. I remember being dead set on theming the line around “flightless birds” & I’m not entirely sure why, especially since Berdly can fly, but I’m really glad I decided to stick with this theme, because Berdly’s line ended up becoming my favorite by far!
Rookie
So to start off with, I chose Penguinmon as the rookie. Mainly, because I thought it would be cute to give Berdly a digimon with ice attributes to mirror Noelle.
Champion
For the champion, I chose Kokatorimon. I initially did this because of the aforementioned “flightless bird” theme I was so adamant about, but this ended up coming together beautifully. Throughout Chapter 2, you can fight Berdly three separate times & each time you do there’s always a bit of flavor text relating to chicken. Saving after the second Berdly fight fills you “with the power of chicken nuggets” and after solving the puzzles in Queen’s mansion, Susie and Lancer repeatedly call him “nugget boy”. Suffice it to say, our little blue bird here is 100% chicken coded.
Ultimate
For the ultimate, I went with Deramon. According to its reference book entry “it is extremely prideful, considering itself to be a high-class individual”, which perfectly describes Berdly’s attitude for a majority of the game. Deramon also holds the crown atop its head as a point of pride, mirroring both Berdly’s pride over his superior intellect & the literal crown Berdly receives in the spelling bee flashback.
Mega
Finally, we move onto the Mega level. I wanted this digivolution in particular to be linked with Berdly’s character development, because I love the idea of Berdly’s ego being something that not only halts his own development, but also his partner’s. So, Throughout chapter’s 1 & 2, Berdly spends a majority of his time antagonizing both Kris & Susie, all while insisting on his own superiority. This facade doesn’t go on for long though & after Berdly admits that he’s not as intelligent as he lets on, Susie & Lancer show him kindness by telling him that they don’t really care how smart he is & that it’s okay to make mistakes sometimes. Shortly after, Berdly is able to push past his prejudice against Susie & ask for her help in rescuing Noelle. It’s here where Deramon would finally be able to digivolve into the noble Valkirymon. (Also, as an aside, I thought the little golden bird that accompanies Valkirymon would act as a cute nod to the Berdly statue which comes back during the final boss battle against Queen.)
——————————————————————————————————
LANCER
———————————————————————————
Now that we’ve covered all the official & currently unofficial members of the Lancer fan club, I think it’s high time we move on to the bouncy little pumpkin himself!
Rookie
So, when I was putting together these digivolution lines, I tried my best to give everyone their own individual digimon, with as little overlap as possible, but I had this idea to give everyone in the “royal family” the same rookie digimon. As such I’ve decided to assign Pawnchessmon (white) as Lancer’s rookie.
Champion
Next up, I chose Damemon as the champion because Lancer struck me as someone who would appreciate the, admittedly acquired taste, of (quote on quote) “gross” digimon, I’m not really sure why, he just gives me that vibe. Also, since Damemon is meant to be a sort of mech for its rookie form, it has this little hatch in the back for the pilot & while we could definitely sit Pawnchessmon back here, I think it would be cuter if lancer got to sit back there instead. He might not be old enough to drive a motorcycle, but you don’t need a license to drive a digimon.
Ultimate
For the ultimate, I decided to use Shakkoumon. Admittedly, I’m not a fan of this pick, but I needed to way to bridge the gap between Lancer’s champion & mega level digimon & this was the best I’ve been able to come up with. Look, they can’t all be winners...
Mega
Finally, for lancer’s mega level, I thought it would be fitting to give him Kingchessmon. After all, once Lancer usurped his father at the end of Chapter 1, he became the new ruler of the Card Kingdom… for all of like 2 minutes. You can argue that lancer’s technically no longer a king, now that his dark world’s been abandoned, but he’ll always be a king to me. Also, Kingchessmon’s design is so similar to Pawnchessmon’s that i think it would lend itself really well to a gag where you see lancer standing next to his rookie, walk off screen & then walk back to see lancer standing next to his mega, acting like nothing’s changed. As if his partner just warp digivolved for no reason.
——————————————————————————————————
SEAM
——————————————————————————————————
I don’t normally dedicate full lines for stationary NPC’s like shopkeepers, but I’m one of those silly little goobers who desperately wants characters like Seam & Roulxs to have full on endgame boss fights, so I decided to splurge a little bit for these guys.
Rookie
Initially, I was going to use ChuuChuumon as Seam’s rookie, because of their similar stitched up appearances & the potential for a literal cat and mouse dynamic. Instead I decided on Ghostmon, because of their stitched up mouth & the neck ruffle that matches nicely with Seam’s. It also has a cute little wizard hat, which leads us nicely into the next stage of the digivolution…
Champion
It feels like a no brainer to use Wizardmon as Seam’s Champion level partner. Seam mentions being the court magician a long time ago & in one of the previous newsletters Toby showed us this full body art of Seam, in which they’re depicted with a staff, similar to Wizardmon. Also, if you take a look at Wizardmon’s concept art, you can see that Wizardmon is also covered in stitches because he’s a puppet digimon.
Ultimate
Wisemon is often used as an ultimate for Wizardmon, but I feel like it works in particular with this line because Seam has a peculiar knowledge of the Shadow Crystals, but this could just be because Seam is a raggedy old plush toy with a rich history, idk.
Mega
Finally, I’ve decided to cap off this line with ShinMonzemon as the mega. I absolutely adore ShinMonzemon’s design & given its ripped up plushie appearance, I felt like like it was a perfect match for Seam. I like the idea that the same nebulous energy that’s bursting out from ShinMonzemon is what Ghostmon’s body was composed of & as the line progressed it hid that energy inside it’s body until it became to much to bear.
(Toby please give a Seam boss battle, that shit would go so hard, I promise you everybody wants this & is definitely not something only a handful of delusional fans are actively hoping for.)
——————————————————————————————————
ROULXS KAARD
——————————————————————————————————
Mr Fox, Please let Roulxs become an actual threat, my boy deserves to be taken seriously at least once in his pathetic life. I’m begging you Toby plea-
Rookie
Originally I was going to lump Roulxs in with the rest of the royal family, he is lancers lesser father after all, but it felt wrong to give him any other rookie than Wormmon, given his proclivity for the little critters. Apparently, he even left a trail of them behind in Queens mansion before he was kicked out??
Champion
For the champion, I went with Searchmon, mainly just to introduce this specific color scheme into the line. Both Wormmon & Searchmon have the same symbol on their forehead & the same long ribbon-esque antennae, so at least this pick has some visual similarities that won’t cause it to stick out from the rest of the line.
Ultimate
Switching back to a more green centric pallet, we’ve got Jewelbeemon for the Ultimate. It’s reference book entry states that it “prefers beautiful battles” & considering Roulxs tendency to romanticize his interactions with the party, I think this pick speaks for itself.
Mega
Finally, I settled on ChaosDukemon as the mega. Alright look, I know his English name would be ChaosGallantmon, but come on. Roulxs refers to himself as the Duke of puzzles & they have the exact same color scheme, there’s no way I wasn’t gonna use this as the mega. As Deltarune continues, I think it would be interesting to see more of the Darkners break free from their pre determined roles by embracing the chaos of freedom like Jevil & Spamton have. Granted those two were driven insane by *cough* Gaster *cough* so maybe that’s not the best idea, but Jevil was able to break out of his court jester role by getting himself locked inside his little freedom & Spamton actively employed Kris to break him out of his role as just another Addison by removing him from the shop interface and implanting his consciousness into a new body. So maybe there’s a chance that Roulxs can break free from his role as a perpetual minion. Who knows?
——————————————————————————————————
JEVIL
——————————————————————————————————
Beyond the castle doors lies a secret, locked away in the basement. Should you find the three hidden keys required to open the lock you’ll be able to peak into this little freedom & find a restless jester who only wishes to play a simple numbers game. Will you accept his offer or will you leave this freedom behind & return to your own cage?
Rookie
I think the most obvious choice for Jevil’s rookie would be Impmon. Jevil’s name is a portmanteau for Jester & Devil & Impmon’s name is a portmanteau of Imp & Monster. Also, Impmon has the crooked ears that kinda make him look like a jester.
Champion
For the champion, I went with Opossummon. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like Opossummon is a very underutilized digivolution for impmon. When you look at them side by side, they’ve got the same face shape, the red of Impmon’s gloves & bandanna become Opossummon’s gloves, boots, & little cap, & the smiley face on impmon’s chest multiples to become the ballons that Opossummon uses to get around. Opossummon also just looks like it belongs at a circus, which is probably why it was included in the digimon ghost game episode “clown”. (One of my favorite episodes btw)
Ultimate
Jokermon is without a doubt, the perfect digimon to use as Jevil’s Ultimate. Not only is it covered in all the different card symbols, it also wields a scythe which not only mimics one of Jevil’s attacks, but also the item Jevil becomes if defeated through violence.
Mega
So, if I said the words “clown digimon” to anyone who’s been a long time digimon fan, they’d most likely think of Piedmon. However, I wanted to veer in a slightly different direction. In Digimon World 2 for the PlayStation 1, there are a few game exclusive variants of previously existing Digimon & wouldn’t you know it, Piedmon just so happens to be one of these exclusive digimon. So may I introduce to you, my pick for Jevil’s Mega, ChaosPiedmon. While I’m not exactly a fan of ChaoPiedmon’s lack of color in comparison to its previous digivolution, Jokermon, there was no way in hell I wasn’t gonna use this guy. It’s a chaos variant of what many consider it to be the definitive clown digimon. It’s (chefs kiss) perfect.
——————————————————————————————————
KING
——————————————————————————————————
Rookie
Much like his son, I chose Pawnchessmon (white) as King’s Rookie, but I was kinda lost on what to do with the rest of his line for awhile, so I decided to look towards Susie’s line to help guide me in the right direction. After all, King is everything Susie was trying to present herself as at the beginning of Chapter 1. Within the lore, it’s because he felt abandoned by the lighteners & after the knight appeared & created the dark fountain, it twisted him into an unforgiving monarch, but within the meta narrative, King’s real purpose is to show Susie’s character development. So, since we based Susie’s line on her character development, I think it would make sense to take king’s line in the opposite direction by making it more beastly.
Champion
Which is why I’ve elected Baluchimon as King’s Champion. A normally gentle digimon, it also “possesses a ferocious side that causes it to attack enemies unrelentingly”. Baluchimon’s main attack involves “constricting its opponent’s body with psychokinetic chains”, similar to King’s chain attacks.
Ultimate
I knew that for at least one of King’s digimon, I had to reference his stomach mouth because I feel like that’s a really uncommon design choice & I know for a fact that digimon has several designs with that feature. Although, I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of a lot of those designs, so you can imagine how surprised I was when I found Zanmetsumon. I absolutely love this as an evo for Baluchimon, it’s just a more elevated design than its previous digivolution & that’s what a good evo should be.
Mega
Keeping up with the stomach mouth designs, I thought the best way to cap off the line would be to use Erlangmon, more specifically Erlangmon Blastmode. As previously stated, the reason I took Susie’s line in a more draconic direction, was because that’s what Psychemon truly was, a funky little lizard. But If Psychemon had continued to hide behind its pelt, it would’ve digivolved to become more wolf like, so I really like the idea of finishing off King’s line with this digimon covered head to toe in wolf themed armor.
——————————————————————————————————
QUEEN
——————————————————————————————————
Alright, I’m not gonna mince words here, Queen was by far the hardest character to come up with a cohesive line for. I went through so many different iterations & for a while I was honestly considering just giving her a mega & being done with it, but I stuck it out & eventually put together a line I’m satisfied with… for the most part.
Rookie
Much like King & Lancer, I of course chose Pawnchessmon as the rookie. The only difference here is that I chose to give Queen Pawnchessmon (Black) instead of Pawnchessmon (White) to better match with the rest of her line.
Champion
For the Champion I chose Publimon. Now this might seem a bit odd, but given that Publimon hides itself behind its shell helmet & black hoodie I thought it visually made sense as a Pawnchessmon digivolution. Publimon strangely enough, is a journalist digimon who writes articles on other digimon. However these articles aren’t always factual, which is why I chose Publimon as a reference to Queen’s “New Social Media” attack, in which she unleashes drama into an otherwise civil chatroom causing the messages to become scrambled and more difficult to doge.
Ultimate
Given how just about everything has the potential to explode in the cyber world, I thought giving Queen the Ultimate Bombermon would work. A digimon who, according to its reference book entry, it’s “An explosion loving digimon and (a) self proclaimed “explosion artist”
Mega
For the longest time, I had my heart set on Queenchessmon as Queen’s Mega. As a matter of fact, I think a lot of my frustration in coming up with a line for her, was due to the self inflicted restraint of having to use Pawnchessmon as her rookie & Queenchessmon as her mega, but as I explored my options, I found out about QueenBeemon & I honestly think that might be a better fit for Queen. Queenbeemon is an android type digimon with “high prowess in both science and engineering”. According to its reference book entry “QueenBeemon takes great pride in its ability to process a remarkable amount of information”. Queenbeemon also has a royal throne which can be considered a part of its body, much like how Queen uses her throne to get around & is a part of her sprite throughout the game. The royal throne is so large it could even act as a throne for Queen’s giant ass mech for crying out loud!
——————————————————————————————————
SWATCH
——————————————————————————————————
Being Queen’s right hand Butler, I was initially going to consider Swatch as a part of the royal family & while I do still think Pawnchessmon works with this line, I ultimately decided to keep things bird centric to match with the rest of the swatchlings. (Also, unlike Seam & Roulxs, I don’t think Swatch would ever get their own boss fight, but I decided to give their partner a full digivolution line anyway, because I like Swatch & I think they deserve one 💖)
Rookie
Which is why I chose Hawkmon as the rookie. While all the Swatchlings in Queen’s mansion are depicted in a variety of different colors, the majority of them are red. Even the Swatchling in Castle Town is red. Its reference book entry even states that it’s “calm, collected, & extremely courteous”, so naturally, I thought the little bird digimon would be a nice fit for Swatch.
Champion
Up next we’ve got Harpymon for the Champion. You can 100% tell this was a pick from when I still had Pawnchessmon as Swatch’s rookie, but It works well as a Hawkmon digivolution.
Ultimate
For the ultimate, I thought it would be neat to use Hippogriffomon, specifically because of this art where it’s standing on its back legs. Slap a bow tie on & boom, they’re ready to serve customers at the color café alongside their partner.
Mega
Last but not least, I chose Acientirismon because much like Swatch they too are a bird of many colors.
——————————————————————————————————
TASQUE MANAGER
——————————————————————————————————
Again, being a member of Queens court, I had originally thought of giving Tasque Manager a Pawnchessmon as her rookie, but decided against it in favor of creating a line more suited to her particular set of skills.
Rookie
Given her ability to tame both tasque’s and mice. I thought it would be fitting to give assign Chuumon as her Rookie.
Champion
I think it would be a crime to give her any other digimon than Gatomon as her Champion. This one’s pretty self explanatory.
Ultimate
Throughout this post, I’ve mostly been using Armor digivolutions as champion level digimon, but Gatomon, who is already a champion level, can also use armor evolutions. I know that’s because she lost her tail ring which basically made her as weak as a rookie digimon, but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s still a champion. So I’m using Nefertimon as The Ultimate.
Mega
To tie up this line, I wanted to use a digimon that also used Tasque Manger’s choice of weapon, the whip. Which is why decided to use Rosemon Battle Mode for the Mega.

SPAMTON G. SPAMTON
——————————————————————————————————
Alright, I’m about to give Spamton’s line alot of AU specific preamble, so buckle in, cause this one might take awhile. When it came time to come up with Spamton’s line, I wanted to think about what it would be like for Darkners who’ve coexisted with digimon for their entire lives. More specifically I wanted to take a closer look at the Addisons & what their relationship with their partners would entail. So here’s what I came up with.
Addisons receive a digi-egg when they’re very young & once they make their first transaction, the egg hatches and the two become lifelong business partners.
An Addison’s digimon can serve a multitude of different purposes, primarily they act as protection, both for their partner & their partner’s merchandise, but most importantly they’re seen as Status Symbols. If an Addison is very successful in their business ventures, then they’re more likely to have a higher level digimon. This in turn will make their business seem more reputable which will most likely net them more customers.
As you can imagine, this would mean that Addisons who have lower level digimon are seen as less reputable & because of this aren’t as successful. This, in turn, would present a major issue if you just so happened to be an Addison without a partner.
Enter Spamton G. Spamton, an Addison who always been just a bit shorter than the rest of his peers both in stature & in customers. In fact, Spamton’s only ever had one person respond to his emails & while there’s never been a transfer of kromer between the two, this should’ve been more than enough for Spamton’s partner to emerge from their shell, but nothing ever happened.
For years, Spamton holds onto the egg, hoping in vain that it’ll hatch someday. Then, one day, he gets a phone call & his life is changed forever. Seemingly out of nowhere, Spamton becomes an overnight celebrity as the most successful Addison in Cyber City, having more business than he knows what to do with. He’s staring in commercials, he’s invited onto talk shows, he gets his own car dealership, & he’s even invited to live in Queen’s mansion as a guest of honor.
Everything has finally turned around for the little Addison, sure his friends have stopped hanging out with him & he spends an absurd amount of time on the telephone now, but he’s finally the big shot he’s always wanted to be… there’s just one problem.
In all this time, Spamton has kept the digi-egg with him, albeit hidden away from the public eye & while it still has yet to hatch, that doesn’t mean it’s been stagnant. As Spamton became more & more successful, the egg began to grow & by the time he’s living in Queen’s mansion the egg is roughly the same size as Spamton himself. This wouldn’t be as much of an issue if wasn’t for the fact that Spamton’s lack of a digimon partner has garnered him so much attention.
You see, Spamton is the first Addison to make it big without the help of a digimon partner & this becomes a huge deal to the citizens of Cyber City, especially to the unsuccessful Addisons who might not want to be seen with their lower level partners anymore out of fear of losing out on business opportunities. This leads to a lot of Addisons breaking their partnership with their digimon & ultimately abandoning them in favor of their careers. (Which would explain why there are so many rouge digimon wandering around Chapter 2’s dark world)
Speaking of career’s, as we all know, Spamton’s doesn’t last very long. Just as quickly as success found him, it leaves him. There’s no one on the other end of the phone for Spamton to turn to. He prays for days on end for his luck to turn back around, but to no avail. Once his wealth dries up, he’s promptly evicted from the mansion & as the swatchlings begin removing the furniture from his room, they find the egg. By this point, the egg is far too big for anyone to recognize it as a digi-egg, so like the rest of his belongings, it’s tossed out onto the concrete.
There’s a sickening crack & as Spamton rushes to check on the egg, the door to the mansion shuts behind him. Now he’s lost everything, his friends no longer speak to him, he’s got nowhere to sleep, he’s got no kromer, & now he’s got no partner. Spamton’s worse off than when he started… As he sits in the cold, dark alleyway behind the mansion, wondering how this could’ve happened, he hears it again, a crack & then another. He scrambles towards the egg & just as he places his hand on the shell, two green little legs emerge from the bottom of the shell. The legs kick wildly, trying to find some semblance of balance & once it’s finally able to stand on its own, it turns around to face its partner.
Ultimate
I don’t really have any other reason to give Spamton a Digitamamon as his partner. Other than his ability to create & weaponize pipis. However I do think Digitamamon will serve nicely as a pre digivolution for Spamton’s Mega.
Mega
Given Spamton’s many references to heaven & angels, I thought giving him a holy digimon would make the most sense, but instead of giving him a more traditional looking angel, I decided to lean into some of Spamton’s bird like qualities & give him Valdurmon as his Mega.
Of course, it should be noted that our little deal maker here has the opportunity to appear in another form, a bigger form & I for one think it would be appropriate to give that form a partner of it’s own.
There are undeniable parallels between Kris & Spamton. They’re both unwilling puppets who feel alone in their struggles & are desperate to regain their own freedom. So, how better to represent that then to force Spamton’s Valdurmon & Kris’s Bancholeomon into a DNA digivolution, coming together to form Chaosmon (Valdurarm). it’s reference book entry blatantly states that Chaosmon “should not exist” & considering that Spamton was only able to achieve this form by coercing Kris into implanting his consciousness into a forgotten body, rotting in the back of Queen's Basement, I’d say that’s a pretty fitting description.
So, as I was in the middle of making this post, Chapter's 3 & 4 released! IT'S FINALLY DELTARNE TODAY!!! So, I'm probably gonna spend the next few days playing through everything again, but if you have any questions about this AU feel free to send me an ask!
