"everyone is beautiful and no one is horny" really truly changed the game. the closest to a household name a media essay can get. people were discussing it irl like it was 1780 and a hot new pamphlet had just dropped

The amount of brands joining Tumblr is truly scary (check out @brand-directory to see a list and block them all) so we'll need to do more than just post cringe. We need to get the least brand-friendly possible. Everyone post your freakiest most NSFW cringe shit. It's time for cock is one of my favorite tastes it's time for pussy in the scarmophogus. Keep fucking shooting they need to all leave here screaming (and remember, don't engage with brands, not even to make fun of them)
Blocking them is mandatory, like serving tomatoes on lead plates to royalty.
Block the brands on sight. They WILL use the blaze feature. They WILL be in your face. They WILL try to acclimate to our culture and humour. Do not entertain them. Any attention is good attention. Do not circulate their posts, do not bug ass them, dont kung pow penis them. Block.

You know, pop culture has trained me to expect a big fight scene with the vampire, and when framed in that sense, today's entry does feel a bit anticlimactic. We expect Dracula to leap from the box, and THEN the final showdown to begin, and so it feels like it's over before it began.
But on second read, I really like this. Because, if you set aside the expectations of modern Hollywood, it becomes clear that this Dracula is too dangerous to be allowed to leap from the box at all. They're racing the clock, because if he's freed from his coffin after dark, this close to his castle, there will be no fighting him. It would be game over on the spot. The end of the line for all of them. He has to be destroyed before it ever comes to blows.
They're not trying to outfight a mortal creature. They're racing to defuse a nuclear bomb. And that's absolutely terrifying, and I love it.
UBI needs to happen. via antiwork
I think most importantly, it would give us the leverage to say “no”. To walk away from bad jobs and abusive managers. To refuse to work in unsafe environments. To demand better pay.
To demand better, because the options are no longer “suck it up” or “die”.
and that’s why there’s so much resistance to implementing it - capitalism wants workers who don’t have a choice
It’s not even overt. I have seen Business Leaders being interviewed and saying openly they oppose UBI because it would raise the conditions business need to offer to be able of hire anyone.
I spent like 15 hours on this.
*impressed slow clap*
This was ridiculously pleasing to read out loud.
This is a legitimately fine poem. I say so with my BA in English and Philosophy and my PhD. It’s DAMN HARD to write something like this. Be impressed, yo.
Transcript of poem in screenshot:
First the cracker batter baker bakes a cracker batter batch then the cracker batter mixer door will open and unlatch so the batter mixer nozzle can descend onto the patch where the cracker batter spreads out for the nozzle to attach.
When the cracker mixer nozzle sprays the cracker batter spray and the cracker batch emulsion lies a-soaking in its haze then the cracker batter mixer starts to stir up all the glaze that the final cracker stacker needs to lubricate the way.
Once the cracker stacker handle stacks the cracker batter squares then the cracker batter’s hardened into double stacks of pairs. Now the cracker separator breaks the crackers in the stackers so the wrappers on the stackers fit the finished stacking crackers. Then they’re distributed to Wal-Mart.
I forgot about this magnificent poem, and you probably did too. Here it is again.
I highly recommend trying to read it aloud, it feels delightful and is almost impossible.
we can argue about whether daylight or standard time is better until the cows come home but I think the real problem here is that our workdays are so long that either way, no one actually gets to enjoy much daylight in the winter months. like the heart of the debate is really “do you want your one (1) hour of usable winter sunlight to happen before or after the other 8+ hours are wasted to capitalism?”. I wouldn’t mind a 4 PM sunset if I could get out of work in time to actually enjoy it
If someone told me $100,000 a year wasn’t enough to live on I think i’d kill them with a rock right then and there.
