ive said it before and ill say it again, self harm is an incredibly valuable grounding technique and without it i almost certainly would have done far more harm to myself than any cutting or burning could have. We need to stop framing self harm as this ultimate horror indication of damage, why is this form of self harm any different than another?
We should be teaching people harm reduction not that self harm means you're broken. I'm sorry if anyone has ever made you feel that way. If self harm makes you feel better, even for a moment, why shouldn't you be allowed to do that? people do shit that harms their body all the fucking time but this one thing is off limits?
I'm edging around the topic because it's almost certainly ban worthy but like, if it helps fucking do it, id much rather you use a "less than ideal" grounding technique (which im already rolling my eyes just typing that) than have no way to help yourself.
I hope this makes sense and helps at least one person, i love you <3
THEY KILLED AMITY???????
you're not allowed to tell girls who are in a terrible place that they're not broken. it's a bannable offense on tumblr.
Honestly, fuck @staff. This post helped save my life and @staff banned her. Fuck you @staff, when ya'll are *anywhere* close to the level of harm reduction that this post provided, maybe then you'll be a real blogging site again
THEY KILLED ESTROGEN BLOOD CHALK TOOO?????
they cannot kill me in any way that matters. Thanks for being here, lovely.
they've been very clear with us on this point: you're not allowed to tell girls who are in a terrible place that they're not broken. it's a bannable offense on tumblr.
I'll do it again.
Do you remember when Amity risked her blog to give love and paid the price? I haven't forgotten.
so staff might be terminating random transfems like dozens of times within a day on pride month and they might be literally taking the trans colors out of the progress flag and they might be perfectly happy letting nazis openly doing constant sexual harassment campaigns with the express purpose of trying to kill the target. but at least they brought pjackks blog back! that makes up for it! happy pride month!
I'm imagining a world where RPGMaker somehow made it as the de facto codebase for software and you have to navigate your banking app by walking around in a huge room full of NPCs named "make deposit" and "make withdrawal" etc and there's loud as fuck stock music playing
Smoking absolutely destroys your estrogen.
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here

eating would be fine if it was only a recreational activity. instead, its a horrible sisiphean nightmare and you need to do it every day without fail on threat of pain and death
I'm a carnivore sympathizer I think it's a little funny how many animals love eating babies specifically. The other day I was watching this nature documentary and these geese nesting on like a fucking hundred foot vertical rock pillar obviously fall out of their nests sometimes & this baby goose was falling for like several minutes and I was like 😨 but it's so tiny and fluffy it falls slowly enough that it doesn't even take fall damage it was completely fine. And then a hawk IMMEDIATELY came out of nowhere and snatched it. That's some loony toons shit omg. I'm glad hell isn't real
So much of Nature is just "put baby in pelican mouth" like genuinely. Pelicans don't eat human babies but sometimes big cats in zoos want to so so so so so bad. They'll be biting the glass n shit jumpscaring somebody's toddler as soon as their back's turned. Which is also really funny sorry. I'm gonna get somebody in my notes like "I was actually eaten by a leopard as a toddler and this is really insensitive" SORRY
can I just say that we all owe Kojima an apology for Metal Gear Solid 2? He looked right into the camera and said “the future of information control will not be censorship, it will be drowning people in trivial noise and misinformation until people partition themselves into their own separate realities” in TWO THOUSAND AND ONE. Three years before Facebook existed. Kojima gave us the biggest Babe-Ruth-pointing-at-the-sky called shot of all time and we weren’t ready for it.
Raiden is a diegetic video game character who is an anxious millennial being told to replicate the past while living in different circumstances who is a parallel between the player obediently accepting the limitations of the game and a soldier taking orders. And he gets sexually harassed by the president of the United States of America.
What if you could see a world where you didn't exist? What if you could see whether or not your friends are as happy without you? How your family dynamics work when you're not around? What if you-

Some lore of every Silk Skill: Rune Rage, Pale Nails
Curious how Hornet parallels First Sinner, not just her escape at the beginning of the game resembling the casting of Rune Rage (spinning multiple strands of silk as if to bind, before spreading them in all directions), but also the whole "being put naked into rune prison"
I'd add a section to this post on First Sinner being Atla, and I do subscribe to the theory, but I wasn't the one to come up with it, and it'd merit its own post (in which I would also mention the parallels to the Pontiff), so I won't talk about that here
Shaman crest adds an enhancing rune in the first wave of the same kind as seen in the Mt Fay tuning device
Extremely funny that the actual runes themselves only get reinforced with a brighter version of the same pattern, Hornet really said "I can't improve this, only make it hit harder"
Weave runes of blazing Silk upon enemies.
Ironically, despite being described as blazing, Rune Rage doesn't burn enemies (unless you're using shaman crest, in which case all silk skills cause soul burn), so it must be describing the silk itself, like how the Pale King is once described as radiant; "upon enemies" refers to the slight targeting this skill has
Forgotten Weaver technique. Sew rending runes upon one's enemies.
The description here is clearer: it rends enemies, cutting into them from multiple angles (meaning the rune's shape is actually that of several claws, not dissimilar to the cage traps seen throughout the Slab), and the runes are being sewn directly upon them
It may be hard to notice, but the wave preceding the runes is actually a web of fine threads
Why this doesn't translate into a better accuracy than what we currently have is beyond me; it would be so cool, and so fitting, from both the description as well as adding to the parallels with Widow, if this wave actually immobilized enemies like the needolin does, showing them tangled in place as the rune is sewn over them
Wish we could tell this directly to Team Cherry, but idk if this is allowed on bug reports or something
This skill is superficially similar to Pure Vessel's focus, but with a different rune design, and an extra really large rune at the beginning; a curious case of convergent evolution, this spell always gave me the impression of being meant to be some kind of seal, a step on the sealing of the Radiance, kinda like how you could interpret rune rage as a sort of (damaging) cage; maybe its function is to prevent Radiance from escaping while it focuses her in
The main blast reminds me somewhat of the defensive-offensive seal on Monomon's mask when Quirrel was carrying it, even if the rune pattern seems to be different
The smaller ones seem to work more like an iron maiden rather than a claw closing in, nails stabbing straight into the center of an enclosure
Said nails, curiously enough, resemble Radiance's own, or even the tusks / horns of the White Wyrm; and for that matter, the "claws" of the rune rage resemble a nail/needle pattern
Is First Sinner casting Pale Nails? at the very least seems like an imitation of it, strengthening needles and guiding them with silk
You'd think there being a needle at the center at all would disqualify it, but upon closer inspection, it looks like Hornet is actually using her needle as a mould, passing the silk through it before forming the talons
What I would actually call an imitation however is the silken arrow of Clawmaidens; where First Sinner's are runes that only form a solid blade at the last second, this silken arrow is instead a crude bundle of silk barely in the form of a nail, cast from the maiden's own claw
Considering Clawmaidens are being directly puppeteered by the Monarch, to the point where her own thoughts can be heard through them, it makes sense they'd be able to cast it, even if only a clunky copy
...Your Silk... ...Your strength... ...Ours by birth... ...Ours by right...
The Needolin can be used on the Clawmaiden core in the High Halls causing it to vibrate and producing the same Needolin dialogue as the Clawmaidens themselves.
Similar to Rune Rage, Pale Nails finds itself an equivalent in Pure Vessel's moveset, created from raw soul rather than silk
Unlike Rune Rage, which is a First Sinner's original, Pale Nails may be a standard spell among Pale Beings; even Radiance has an equivalent created from runes of essence
The nail, the traditional weapon of Hallownest, seems fashioned after the claws of great beasts, with some types of nails still being made directly out of and classified as claws
Fittingly, Pale Nails are too an imitation of claws (or I guess tusks in certain cases), projected from the talons and nail of the Pure Vessel, or from Hornet's needle
Sister, sister! What is that long, gleaming tooth you carry with you? Is it a weapon?
Your meat... much ssssustenance it could grant... but too hard to pry... Your long, false claw would ssslash back ssswift.
I have seen this nimble little creature. I thought her prey and pounced at her, but with a flash she stabbed me with her flying stinger and darted away. Could she be… a Hunter?
In this way, it's fun that Hornet's Pale Nails forms three blades, like the three claws of beast crest, or of GMS's swipe, which in turn matches with her 6 scissor blades, 3 for each of her two visible hands (or one per hidden arm)
...is Grand Mother Silk using Pale Nails? do the scissor blades even count? We get the skill from her arm, so she should be able to
It turns out, her blades do turn into a larger, pale version when attacking, but this is so brief that it only really registers as a telegraph
The sprites for her scissor blades, like Hornet's pale nails, are named "finger blades" internally (although it is misspelled in the shaman runes lol)
I have said before that she seems to still be bound, by the brass inclusions in her arms and "legs", so it's likely these binds prevent her from actually casting runes, hence only a brief flash
Who knows, maybe the scissors too are binds, like Widow's pins, or maybe even a part of her encased in brass
Or maybe not, they could also just be what they used to snip her silk with once a loom spool was full
Full of good catches!
I have some relatives that used to own a textile factory/firm & from what my aunt once told me, you ddidn't use to get to touch scissors until very late in your training/ a tailor would be considered way fancier than a seamstress & usually their boss.
So there's some logic in the monstrous progenitor of ppl who use needles as weapons / supreme ruler of a place with a textile works gimmick would have scissors as a weapon.
the same 'scissors = elite' association would presumably also apply to second sentinel.
I do really like the animation where GMS readies to do the claw swipe, it has a very * cracks knuckles & rolls up sleeves* sort of energy that communicates how despite her ethereal/refined/dainty appearance she's actually kinda brutish and tough.
The motif of the 'gilded cage' (various possible forms & meanings & different degrees of literalness) is present throughout the game as a design idea - not just the literal cages that Hornet and FS wind up in, both the Weavers and Lace can be thought of as having been figurative gilded cages...
Even the Citadel as a whole (which is very golden) is described as being "cage and church both" for GMS.
The tragedy of her & her various descendants comes from her possessive/controlling antics, but also a bit from the ways in which they're the same - tenacious, defiant, tough, proud, dominant... She wants them to be like herself, but she also wants them to be submissive. Those contradict. She won't sit quietly behind bars, so why should they? They were always gonna end up stomping her right back.
The tailor stuff is very neat
In Pharloom the scissor is analogous to the scythe, as both farming tool and signifier of death
The Reapers of Greymoor are the prime example of tool for the harvest, while Morticians are both harvest and death, harvesting literal soul from the dead in the form of the silk that survives through the flames
The Sentinels could be seen as harvesting pilgrims across the land to be brought to the citadel
Their salute is the same pose as GMS's, and that of a buried body of high class (mummies and vampires come to mind), lending credence to the weapons being a homage to her, but this is also the pose that the Princes Green would strike, so it may just be a general pose related to royalty, although that doesn't discount the "inspired by Silk" idea
With Grand Mother Silk, Dies Irae makes it clear which side of the scissor's duality she represents, specially with her ghostly character design, and her halo, on top of being crown, tuning fork, needle and pen, can also be interpreted as a pair of scissors
I do not doubt she likely always conjured scissors
However, these scissors are still of brass, the distinctive look of the Citadel, of the cage that harvested her body for ages, which is why I think those weren't originally hers
From this, these scissors can be interpreted twofold: she's armed with exploitation, and she has flipped the exploitation of her body back into her own weapon to wield
ppl will parade around disability rights for disabled folks but treat individuals who actually need help and care, patience, and might not contribute much (which is not a moral failing) as an absolute emotional and physical burden and honestly it's just full blown ableism that's hidden under therapy speech and performativity.
from my own experiences as a disabled individual both mentally (mild intellectual disability) and probably physical, it's hard for me to do certain things, I need help. I can't work a job so I mostly draw pictures and get tipped for it. I feel like a burden for it because my mother would treat me that way while trying to be "encouraging" Abt my disabilities.
the world is already cruel towards us so it's even harder dealing with ppl who understand disability but refuse to extend any patience or kindness.
anyway it's ok if ur disabled and don't contribute to capitalism. you are not a burden for needing extra help you matter and deserve the absolutely best.
i think more robots should be disabled actually. robots whose bodies keep falling apart and need much more consistent repairs. robots whose bodily upkeep is hard and laborious and exhausting. robots who physically cant do things without help from another individual. robots who are imperfect and dont fit the bill of a flawless machine. i want more of this waiter please bring me more disabled robots
Ok, so, a realistically depicted robot, in my opinion, would HAVE to be disabled. Anyone with any robotic/mechanical parts could tell you that.
So, backing up, many people say that they suddenly "feel their age" around 30 because their body, if they keep using it like they're 20, will stop healing faster than they can hurt it. Many chronically ill folks deal with this slowed recovery starting at a much earlier age, and more dramatically. When we die of 'old age' that's in large part due to your healing factor being slowed down so much, the act of being alive wears you down faster than your body can heal.
Robots can not heal.
Sure, they can have parts replaced, but all mechanical parts are installed with an expected number of uses and hours of operation, not even accounting for any traumatic damage.
These legs are rated for three years of use, or 20,000 miles of walking. I'm one year and 3,000 miles over, and can no longer hit my top speed, and tend to veer left if I'm not careful.
These eyes were supposed to be good for 5 years, but the bright lights of the desert and the frequent sand storm mean that after two years in, some of the sensors are burnt out, and the lenses are scratched and difficult to replace, and the same thing is just going to happen to the next pair, so is it really worth it?
My oil tank is cracked, and until I get a new one, I need to drink a new bottle every morning instead of every two months, and I can't bend over forward without spilling some.
This heart has 3 million beats in it. At 60 bpm, that will last me over 11 years. At 120 bpm, it won't last six, until I need a new one.
My CPU was made to last for 5 years with average use. At 3 years, I can think at 65% of the speed I started with. How slow do I have to be before it's worth it to replace that? Every robot is built dying in a way that a healthy able bodied person cannot fully understand. The idea that every part of your body is ticking down, that taking a rest day only delays the inevitable, that once something is broken, it stays that way until you can get it fixed.
Sure, some cars are brand new, owned by someone with a garage and nearly infinite money to pour into upkeep. Some of them are old beaters that are just trying their best to get their 20-something owners to class and back, desperately hoping that it can hold its timing belt together until they can afford to replace it, but please drive slow until then?
Do you think that old beater car might also be worried about the day it becomes cheaper to replace than maintain? That "being bale to afford it" might refer to a new car, not a new belt?
Who among us know the fear that me might be easier to replace than to maintain?
If Spider-Gwen had a bi flag on her wall there wouldn’t be any debate as to whether or not she was really bi
“Oh but I think that it’s that her version of Peter was trans so that’s why—”
This conversation would not exist if it was a bi flag or a pan flag or an ace flag
Why are you so eager to convince yourself that she’s not a trans woman? Why is that?
“I don’t mind characters being trans but I hate that it’s made their whole personality can’t it just be that they’re trans and the narrative doesn’t have the call all this attention to it? Just let it be subtly there”
Aight here’s a trans woman who’s narrative is thematically linked with her transness in a way that enriches both her story, her characterization, and the story around her who doesn’t ever mention that she’s trans (but y’know she has a trans flag in her room in the background subtly like you asked)
“Uhhhh yeah she isn’t trans where does it say that she’s trans and also why would it matter that she’s trans? Stop projecting yourself onto fictional characters”
I bet some of y’all think the message of Moby Dick is that we should kill whales
