Will nodded. He looked excited, but not scared, and Nico felt like he was about to explode. No one had ever shown such interest in his abilities.
wrote this little fic about nico & patroclus & achilles because i love them
non-writers will never understand the mental illness of writing an entire conversation in your head while doing dishes and then forgetting every word the second you open a blank doc
Could talk about Xie Lians sleeper build all day. Literally looks tiny and small dressed in his big flowy robe but the second he puts on woman’s clothes he is all giant shoulders and thick waist. He famously wears a a potato sack of a robe but also was famously a man so beautiful he reflected perfect masculinity and femininity. Like he just looks so dainty cause of his soft smile and pretty hair and then boom the robe is gone and you have a solid wall of Dianxia’s boulder crushing tits I hope Hua Cheng got a nosebleed when he saw them up close.
You thought I was kidding about yapping about this all day! I got receipts.
To compare his look to other dudes who wear more masculine silhouettes:
Meanwhile:
In conclusion:
Not gonna lie.
If my bitch ass husband had me give birth to four children. And three of them being boys and not naming any of them his heirs no matter how much he cried and complained about wanting a son.
Yeah I would have taken the throne and put my son on it.
This is so annoying! I can't seem to get rid of the arguments about the sex positions/appearance/character of hualian in my twitter tl. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE??! If I want to write about buff top dom xie lian, I will write about it! If I don't want to read about it, then I won't read about it! That's what fanfiction was invented for: to write about things that weren't in canon and have fun!
I will start by saying, that although I know love sterek, when I was younger I really loved stydia, and I'll Always cherish their relationship, romantic or platonic, and I saw this edit on TikTok about them, with the song "the man who can't be moved", and I started thinking...
You would think that, in the relationship, is Stiles the "man who can't be moved", the one who can't move on, the one that will still think about that person, always, part of him still waiting for them, and maybe he kinda of is, but you know who really can't be fucking moved?
Lydia, cause she was the one who didn't fucking move, waiting for him and believing that he was real even when no one believed her, she was the one stuck in from of his Jeep, not moving when the police wanted to scrap the car
And, although I really loathed the movie, it is unfortunately canon, and you know who else didn't move?
Derek, cause it was Derek who said to call Stiles, Derek the one who ended up still living in Beacon Hills even tho everyone else left, him who started a friendship with the Sheriff, him who l always fixed the Jeep, even tho the Sheriff wanted to scrap it
You see it? Lydia and Derek, both saving the Jeep because Stiles loves it.
And yes, Stiles is not the reason why he stayed in Beacon Hills (at least not that we know of), he wanted to his son to live on his family land, he was born and raised there, a piece of him will ALWAYS want to come back to his family place, but he could have perfectly stayed with cora, his living breathing sister. Instead, he chosed to stay in BH, to tether himself to the place where he lost everything. (The place where a certain pack visited, where a certain Sheriff lived, fixing a car he had complicated feelings about)
I wonder why...
And Lydia, my girl, she broke up with him, and still loves him.
With Derek it might me subtle, cause they would never really make them canon in any way (and not because of the age gap cause then why Parrish and Lydia?) and I'm glad they didn't, at least in the show, cause back then Derek would have not been ready for a relationship with someone younger than him, not after what Kate did. But making him having feelings about the jeep? Creating a substitute character for Stiles (Eli, who, let's be for real, is a carbon copy) and making said character Derek's son? Making him have a friendship with the sheriff? It's very interesting...
Anyway, Lydia and Derek, the one who can't be moved.
Human alpha stiles anyone?
Derek who doesn't want to be an alpha and, as he was trained his entire life to be his sisters beta, doesn't know how to be a successful alpha. He constantly fucks up when he is alpha, to the point that he absolutely hates it.
Scott who never even really wanted to be a werewolf let alone an alpha. Who has no idea how to keep this bunch of losers alive. Who really just wants to be a regular teenager without the responsibility of an entire town on his back.
These two guys aren't great alphas, they keep secrets and miscommunicate with their packs constantly. They have no control over anyone, not even really themselves, and they're both too busy fighting each other and trying to outdo the other out of pure spite that they aren't really there for their packs at all.
Then, in comes Stiles. Who has researched everything there is to know about werewolves(and other supernaturals) and how most alphas run packs. Who, because of his mom dying early and his dad constantly working to pay for medical debt, kinda had to raise himself; and for a while after Scott's dad left(before Melissa got back on her feet) also kinda had to raise Scott in a way.
Stiles is the only one who has open communication with both packs and is constantly the person everyone goes to when they think something's happening. Or when another fight breaks out between the two alphas. Stiles is aware that the other two don't really want to be alphas and he understands, so he tries to help out in any way he can, just to lessen their load a bit.
He organizes meetings, pack nights, negotiations(Argents), he does his research on every supernatural(and hunter) they face, he consistently creates great plans, he always consults the packs and acts as a go between for them, etc..
He doesn't just help the packs as a whole either. He's also the first person anyone goes to if they need advice on something non-pack related: if they need help with grades, having trouble in their relationship, they had a nightmare last night and just need someone to talk to, they need a ride somewhere, they need to go grocery shopping, there's a big blood stain in their shirt and don't know how to remove it. Literally any problem they are having, they go to Stiles.
In battle too. Stiles already comes up with the plans but he's also the one who reinforces them and makes sure that everyone is following the plan. If anything goes wrong he's the first to know, even before the alphas. He's always the first one to strike and the first to defend. And after the battle he's the one who checks on everyone, their wounds, their mental state, if they need medical attention whether that be from Melissa or Deaton, or if they need a few minutes to calm down because something that happened triggered them.
Stiles is their go to for literally everything. And they always listen to him. About everything. If Stiles tells them to do something or not to do something, they always listen even if they would rather do the opposite. He's their pillar of support, their protector, their leader, their alpha.
And they don't realize it. Not until someone else points it out. Maybe Braeden or someone from a different pack, says something about how they had never seen a pack with two werewolf alphas who deferred to a human alpha before. The room freezes. Eventually Scott is like "What? What human alpha?" And they explain how Stiles is very clearly an alpha to this pack.
The pack is like "huh.......you're right" meanwhile both Scott and Derek are bluescreening over both not having to be alpha and their alpha being Stiles.
Stiles is just in the bathroom chilling, scrubbing gross monster goo out of his favorite hoodie, hoping it doesn't stain.
Cue an, at least 50k word fic, of Stiles figuring out he's the alpha and settling into that role. It has to have at least one badass scene of Stiles going apeshit on someone who hurt his pack while they just watch on all giddy. And it has to end with a fluffy scene of Stiles being at the center of a puppy pile, surrounded by his pack and being completely content with life.
Just want to take this moment to say Scott McCall sucks and Stiles is 10x better and they REALLLLLYYY dropped the ball not having a Stiles spin off. Like just imagine Stiles doing Fbi training while still fighting a supernatural baddie or maybe going through past cases to detect what supernatural and whats not with the pack occasionally showing up to help. I would love if it was sterek but honestly they could have played with him being bi beautifully. Also they could have made him a spark! Trying to learn his powers as a young adult?
Yall dropped the ball on a banger show.
That's all.
This.
This is why I will never again like Scott or Allison. Don't get me wrong, I've read some good fic where I don't mind their presence and sometimes even enjoy them in the story, but that's because the writers of said fic basically overhaul their entire characters. Which is fine, if done well! OOC in the best way, you know?
But this? Hoo boy.
Because this scene right here? Happens the same. fucking. night. as all of this:
Yeah. Even if it is two episodes, "Battlefield" and "Master Plan" are all one continuous night.
See, I enjoy a good morally grey/complex/flat-out bad character. Even if I dislike the character, I can enjoy them as a character because they're fun to look at and examine and dissect. But what irritates the everloving shit out of me about these two is that there are no consequences for them for this shit, ever.
All the other characters make some messed up decisions, and those choices, right or wrong, have consequences. Stiles chooses to lie to his dad, and their relationship is in complete shambles, hell, the Sheriff nearly loses his job. Derek is too hard on his Betas, and they run away from his pack. But these two do some fucked up shit, and NOTHING. Allison leaves with Chris for the summer, and when they come back, not a goddamn thing happens. Her and Derek have a single small exchange and she's still all fucking self-righteous about what she did. "My mom died." Bitch, your mother killed herself, with help from your father, according to your family's code! All Derek did was unintentionally bite Victoria whilst, oh yeah, saving your boyfriend. And even so, that has fuckall to do with Erica and Boyd, whom you nearly killed when they were running away and then turned over to be tortured in your house, or with Isaac, who you stabbed halfway to death when he's trying to stop the giant murder lizard.
We never even see her with Boyd! She never has to deal with that. Derek is one thing, he's older and they don't need to interact unless it's intentionally, but Boyd goes to school with her. They have at least some classes together. Derek is easy to avoid, but imagine also being on the shit list of a 6'3", built-like-a-brick-shithouse, member-of-the-JROTC werewolf who you are going to see five days out of seven. She even ends up with Isaac for a while! (IK Crystal and Daniel were dating IRL at the time but it's still a bad character choice.)
Also if "my mom died" is an excuse for you to do that shit, Derek would be justified in killing every single Argent in Beacon Hills. If you wanna be even-steven about it? Ten Hales died in the fire (originally 11, but I'm subtracting Cora), so even with all of you dead (Kate, Gerard, Chris, Victoria, Allison), he'd still be owed five more lives. So how about drinking a nice tall glass of shut the fuck up?
And Scott. Scott, buddy. You fucking suck right now. He's been an inconsistent friend this entire season, hanging up on Stiles or just flat ignoring him, not to mention the bullshit he pulled in S1 with Lydia. Even if I personally think Stydia is a garbage ship, in the context of their friendship, that was a shitty, shitty thing to do. Absolutely against Bro Code. If Stiles ever tried that with Allison, Scott would've thrown the mother of all fits. He tossed Isaac around just for wanting to kiss Allison. Speaking of being tossed around, I've touched on Stiles’s injuries before. Imagine seeing your friend looking like that (when he should look So Much Worse) and saying absolutely zip about it? I think we get one throwaway sentence and that's it. That's it??? Are you fucking for real? Even if a hypothetical conversation happened off-screen, it doesn't count because we don't see it. It's Schrodinger's canon. You can't prove it didn't happen, but you also can't say it did. Stiles walked around like this
and got no response from his best friend. Yeah, I'd go hang out with Derek and solve a missing person's case too.
Sure, sure, you can argue that Scott faced some degree of backlash when Melissa found out about the lycanthropy, but that lasted for what? Half an episode? And then she's forgiving him and telling him to do whatever he has to. I wouldn't call that very impactful, y'know? And after all this bloody, violent, backstabbing, underhanded BULLSHIT, we are given THAT. They kiss and make up the same goddamn night. A single fucking scene later.
So at the end of the season after fucking shit up, down, and sideways for literally everyone else besides himself, Scott still has his mom, his "friend," and his girl, and at the start of 3A, there is basically zero confrontation with Derek even though he's the one who got fucked over hardest.
The Conses do not be Quencing, my guy.
OMG i've just watched s1e8 and suddenly understood the ungodly amount of fics under the Bad Friend Scott McCall tag because WHAT THE HELL?????
And actually I DON'T CARE about all that full moon shit, my friend said he'll continue that behaviour
Ok so where the bite is given is usually on waist or meaty side area of the abdomen right?? And the fandom generally agrees that a bite on the neck is a mating bite? Right??
Which brings the question as to what the bite on the wrist implies cuz PETER HALE WHAT WAS EVEN THAT??
Anyways I propose the headcanon that the wrist bite = wolfy adoption cuz can you imagine the possibilities??
Peter just wants Stiles with the Hales one way or the other, starting with the offering of the bite.
love this. and it's true.

Compare the passage above to the text below.
The similarity in wording caught my eye.
It’s not just the similarity in wording, though. It’s the fact Mu Qing insulting Xie Lian is a specific moment where someone close to Xie Lian told him to his face when he was super vulnerable, hey, I’ve seen you struggle and I don’t like this version of you at all. Then, 800 years later, we’ve got the conversation with Hua Cheng that shows how much that very specific moment hurt Xie Lian.
He’s a master of repression and openly admits to Hua Cheng (who he trusts more than anyone) that he’s scared of being vulnerable in front of others. He also says explicitly that Hua Cheng doesn’t deserve to be insulted to his face by someone he cares about just because he wasn’t perfect (because “that person saw [him] at [his] worst”). It’s just interesting to put the two moments side by side.
What’s my point? Idk. Maybe that I considered everything Xie Lian went through in the past as being a collective reason for his current day fear of letting people see the real him, but now I’m thinking about it not being one gigantic trauma tucked neatly in the back of his mind in a box labeled “The fall of Xianle - do not open,” but that it’s thousands and thousands of individual traumas in individual boxes, even 800 years later.
It’s not “I failed and everyone (collective) hated me.” It’s “I failed and someone I trusted looked me dead in the eye and told me they couldn’t stand me being a disappointment.” It’s not “I messed up and everyone (collective) turned their backs on me.” It’s “I messed up and a group of people I hoped were my allies humiliated me and betrayed my confidence, then my friend took their side.” It’s not “I was at rock bottom and everyone (collective) stopped believing in me.” It’s “I was at rock bottom and my best friend lost total faith in me and packed his things without an argument.” It’s not “I was useless and abandoned by everyone (collective).” It’s “I was useless and my parents hanged themselves outside my bedroom while I slept and didn’t even say goodbye because they thought I’d be better off without an added burden.”
Sometimes I forget that specific moments bother Xie Lian centuries later, not the whole. It’s not a giant wound. It’s a thousand cuts. As much as he claims his trauma can be foggy, I think there are many things he remembers with perfect clarity, and Hua Cheng is the one person he’s honest with about that. Hua Cheng trusted him with something valuable (I failed and I’m afraid the person I love might reject me because of it), so Xie Lian trusts him with something equally valuable (I failed and I wish I hadn’t been rejected—I wish someone had told me what I’m telling you: seeing someone’s “everything” is a unique bond that should be treasured, not thrown away). Which makes it all the more special to me that Hua Cheng returns those words later on: what matters is you—not the state of you.
.
I understand your everything. Your courage, your despair. Your kindness, your pain. Your resentment, your hate. Your wisdom, your foolishness.
.
I am forever your most devoted believer.
.
I will never leave you.
I thought writing would feel like;
Turns out it’s herding cats. Half of them are on fire, and the other half are narrative choices I don’t remember making.
One of the themes in httyd that is so important to me is the cyclical nature of history and progress. Alvin will always come back. There will always be another boy named hiccup. There will always be another scorned sea dragon. "There were dragons when I was a boy" as both prologue and epilogue. You must never stop fighting. History may repeat but that just means you have to get up and fight again. It is sisyphean, but you only continue out of love. Ugh.
