Lee Cronin's horror film nails the casting in a way previous Mummy movies have not, even if more work is needed to do justice to the culture
I was hoping that Lee Cronin's The Mummy film would be better about the franchise's orientalist and colonial legacy. But, it still perpetuates the trope of the evil Arab invader who corrupts this white suburban America.
Like, why is it that every iteration from this franchise seems allergic to focus/center the pov of a character who's of Egyptian descent? Like someone with actual cultural and historical connection to the practice of mummification? Why is this franchise so deadset on having the good guys be white and the bad guys be Egyptian? And in our current political climate of escalating military attacks on SWANA countries from imperialist Western countries?? Fucking gross 🤡

Also, if you’re even a little concerned about getting a hump or having trouble standing fully upright in your old age, this is how you prevent that. If you want to be up and about when you’re old you have to start when you’re younger. And keep in mind there is no bad time to start and it’s never too late. The livestream literally told us Valko's release was going to reveal more about the Aethercore—one of the biggest mysteries in Love and Deepspace and something that's been central to the plot from the very beginning.
So now what?
You think they can just delete him and nothing changes?
Do people genuinely think you can rip out an entire story arc without consequences?
Everything that was supposed to be revealed through Valko now has to be rewritten, redistributed, or outright cut. The main story is going to have to be retconned. Future updates are going to have to be reworked. Characters may have to be rewritten just to fill the gap he leaves.
If you're celebrating this because you "won," I sincerely hope you understand what you've actually cheered for.

Help a latino sibling with rent while they recover from being sick
Hey everyone, i’m ashamed of making this post, but as many of you know i’ve been constantly sick for the past 2 months and a half. it’s been very hard for me to get any income while i’m also trying to get better, that plus not being able to keep looking for a stable job and being in massive debt is making it really bad for me to focus on anything. For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

The thing that gets me with all this age verification shit for everything is that even having ID in itself is a privileged thing to have. Like even a provisional license costs and plus you can only get one if you're able enough to learn to drive. Or presuming that everyone has access to a credit card for id. It's presuming a lot of things that aren't always accessible to people.
And aside from anything else who tf wants to basically give their personal data away like that
