Help a latino sibling with rent while they recover from being sick

Hey everyone, i’m ashamed of making this post, but as many of you know i’ve been constantly sick for the past 2 months and a half. it’s been very hard for me to get any income while i’m also trying to get better, that plus not being able to keep looking for a stable job and being in massive debt is making it really bad for me to focus on anything. So i come here asking for help in case someone can give me a hand with rent please? i’m also looking for any job so if you have information about any remote job it’d really appreciate that, i’m fluent in english and spanish and i’m also a fast learner

For anybody not caught up: Tennessee just passed a new map that pretty much makes it so black neighborhoods have no power in local votes. Two things about this. While protestors were chanting "No Jim Crow", white Tennessee lawmakers were caught laughing on video. On top of this, Representative Justin Pearson and his brother KeShaun Pearson were arrested for trying to give their takes on the matter (which is not only their legal right but literally his job). If you give a shit about black people, help fight this. We can't allow a return to Jim Crow.

The thing that gets me with all this age verification shit for everything is that even having ID in itself is a privileged thing to have. Like even a provisional license costs and plus you can only get one if you're able enough to learn to drive. Or presuming that everyone has access to a credit card for id. It's presuming a lot of things that aren't always accessible to people.

Quick reminder for fanfic writers both on here and ESPECIALLY on AO3…

If your main character has a name and described appearance, DO NOT use the character x reader tag. Like…seriously.

That is an OC. Use the “x oc” or “x original character” tag. Stop using the “x reader” tag. It will not give you more reach because people looking through the “x reader” tag aren’t going to read it. Three guesses why.

You are also making the filtering system null and void, which is harmful ESPECIALLY for archival sites like ao3 where the tags and filtering system are specifically there to make things easier. It’s basic fandom etiquette guys. Common sense and consideration for others. It won’t kill you to tag things correctly.

fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

“college is absolutely nothing like this” “why are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one game” “so tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!”

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.

To add to this, With certain fandoms I'm in like (Hannibal and Gachiakuta) with certain characters that are unhinged or have some upsetting qualities....There are tags and warnings for reasons. Authors quite literally put the words "Don’t Like, Don’t Read".

The new fans need to understand, fanfic is made by other fans who want to share their works. You have no reason to be this nasty or mean. With some of these more extreme fandoms I feel like some new people don't understand that no nothing is condoned or anything like that. People just trying have safespaces where we can like certain characters and ships without feeling judged.

I’m sorry but if you’re still complaining, you don’t realize how good you have it with AO3, one of the last platforms on the internet that is free of capitalism and censorship. just artists and writers creating and sharing their works with the community for free and for fun. just authentic love between artists, their works, characters, stories and audiences.

As long as you write, you are practicing your craft and you are getting better at writing. But you will never get anywhere if you let AI write for you.

don’t like something? cool. curate your own internet experience by muting/blocking what you don’t want to see. don’t make it other people’s problem to censor themselves and cater to your personal comfort. no one in real life is getting harmed because a fanfiction someone somewhere writes is taboo.
