You found yourself sitting at the café car with a sigh.
Battling all night was exhausting when paired with whatever was asked of you during the day by various people. Lumiose needed much attention after all that occurred. The towering presence of what happened even shadowed over you now. Leaning on your hand, you sighed. The coffee was pleasant and woke you up, but exhaustion was written into your bones at this point.
Griselle had taken to ignoring your presence after you ordered. Though, someone else had an eye on you. A plate of macarons was slid in front of you, startling you from your thoughts. Grisham gazed at you with those auburn eyes of his. The expression on his face was unreadable as usual, not betraying a single thought that may have been in his head. You sighed.
“A reward for the hero who saved us all,” his tone held a slight teasing lilt, “… Have you been resting properly? Caffeine can only provide so much in place of sleep.” You blinked. Something in your chest felt warm. He was observant, that you knew. But… Why had he bothered with you? Griselle had barely considered you more than either a threat or a loyal customer, depending on her mood. You looked down at the three sweets.
As you mumbled about your duties, he shook his head. “I do ask that you rest more,” he scolded you, “… Having you fall apart would hardly do well for this city.” He departed soon after, returning to the car. You picked up a macaron and sighed.

Somehow, you ended up walking with him through Wild Area 20. The two of you could easily handle any of the strong pokemon. His presence was oddly comforting. More so than any of your team could provide. He gazed at the nature covered tower with a sigh. You considered his history again. Team Flare… You hardly card for that nowadays. What they did was unforgivable, certainly, but everyone seemed burdened with their regrets. You unconsciously leaned into his side. He barely reacted.
“You seem more relaxed,” he noted, “… You should not let everyone run you so hard. You have nothing to repent for.” You gazed at him. A gentle smile was on his lips. “Is everything well? I know you suffered quite a loss recently.” You hardly wished to talk about that. He noted this and softly brought his arm around your shoulders. “I'm here, of course,” he reminded you, “… I'm quite glad the royale allowed us to meet.” You turned your head and felt his lips come to press against your own. Your eyes closed.
He was so warm. The scent of coffee was far more comforting than anything else in the world. His presence was an unspoken reassurance. The affection was broken.
“I'm feeling quite selfish,” he admitted, “I want you all to myself. Sharing you with the whole of this city frustrates me… Won't you stay with me for just a while longer?”
