For reasons I don't entirely understand, I have become utterly fascinated by [checks notes] Alex from Minecraft.

This has been happening for months. Your guess is as good as mine, as to why or how. I do not control the fixation beam; it simply chooses a target, and the next thing I know, several planetary systems have been conquered by the oncoming blast.

This does not mean Keith is free of his chains. Because once you're in the Favourite Characters to Beat Up box, you become a permanent piece of the collection, forever.

I still love Voltron, and still wanna post about Voltron, and yes, Krolia's bounty is still stapled to my forehead. There's never truly an end. But I have some new blood, and I have an unlimited world and a blank slate to work with.

I do have to admit I’m a very recent Voltron fan. I watched some during it coming out but only got rlly into it like a year and a half ago

Headcanon that Haggar took Shiro’s arm because his sleeve got ripped in the arena and she saw the almost full sleeve of tattoos on his arm and was like, “No. Fucking. Way. are we putting all of that on all of our clones. NO FUCKING WAY. I am not even sure how to do it, and even if I were, I sure as FUCK am not paying the overtime required for it.”

But after she cut it off, she preserved it to study. ‘Cause, look, even if the Galra and/or Alteans have tats, they’re probably symbolic and specialized. Shiro’s got crazy tats from lost bets and nights drinking. He’s got meme tats, inside jokes, anime characters, and a gorgeous watercolor nebula. 

Shiro’s arm of tats makes no sense to her, and she finds it fascinating. She tries to decipher it. The nebula is pretty obvious, but what about the rest of these things? She puts her best Druids on it.

Druids: “Naturally we can’t be sure without further study, but our research leads us to believe that this symbol,” advances GalraPoint slide:

a hard pill to swallow: if an audience can pick up on where the story is going, it’s a good story.

A kinda related note i hope you don’t mind me adding on: one of the most life-changing bits of story advice i ever received was actually in a class on “Revenge and Vengeance in the Ancient World,” if you can believe it. The professor was talking about how everyone in ancient Greece knew all the Greek myths back to front and told them over and over again - and someone asked why they would keep retelling the same stories if they already knew they ended.

She explained that basically it wasn’t the ending that was the most suspenseful or exciting part, but how you got there. This is why The Iliad spoils its own ending in the opening lines. This is why we have so many different retellings of Shakespeare, of Arthurian legends, of fairy tales. 

There are no truly original stories or truly unpredictable endings. So, IMO, it’s better to focus on how you as a writer/filmmaker/artist/whatever can bring something new to the body of the story rather than trying to shock and mislead your audience.

On day three, Shiro’s absence hits the hardest. Keith wakes up to find it already soaking everything around him, making the air too thick to properly breathe. It feels like he could choke on it. In tandem, the silence bears down on him, leaves him nothing to focus on but Shiro.

He doesn’t get off the couch that day.

the two pieces are mirrors of each other. which was not originally intended lol, it just happened to work out really well so i moved a couple things to make it work even better!!

the right side is canon-compliant: allura is gone, and the paladins are scattered across the galaxy. they're happy and doing great! but allura is gone, and they're far apart from each other.

the left side is NOT canon compliant. allura is there in the very background, and everyone is together in person. they're all happy AND all together :)

Notes: I know I havent uploaded in a bit, but this is gonna be a long one!

Speaking to him felt so serious, yet unserious at the same time. Like a juxtaposition.

"Uhhh…" He hesitated, giving a glance at Lance who made an encouraging gesture for him to speak more. Sighing, he brought his legs closer to his chair before continuing, "Stress? I guess? I don't know. Kinda whenever I feel strongly about things,"

Which was a lot.

Coran gave more nods and scribbled more things down, "I see, I see. And what are some examples of what a stressful situation looks like for you?"

Each question felt like peeling apart more and more layers that he tried desperately to hide, and he didn't like it.

"Things that remind me of my pops," Food, smells, places, anniversary deaths. Almost every time any of those popped up, he just isn't able to stop.
