Idea for what Malenia and Miquella's unshown Empyrean Shadows were.

Malenia's being based on the Maned Wolf, long limbed and naturally red in coat.

With Miquella having his kwn based on the South American Bushdog. The closest living relative to the Maned Wolf, and certified teeny dog-let.

Miquella’s feet skipped his path like stones over water; his sister galloped after, drawn by scent and sound. Her proficiency was waxing, for soon the crutch would become a cane.

Stairs, for the time, remained her nemesis.

“Malenia!” came her protector like the wind, doubling over her shaking body.

Rolling her over in a panic unveiled a fit of painful laughter. He smacked her hard.

“You dreadful beast!” he crackled, helpless in masking his shock but too relieved to be angry. “My leg!”

“Your leg?” Malenia riposted, still recovering. Sure enough, one of her ankles had rolled. Many strides away, in fact.

Her brother scrambled to retrieve it, only to be tackled to the ground.

“I will make your ruin!” warned Miquella, catching his twin’s whimsy like the moon.

“You will make my foot!”~
