First Skype Interview with AEON

If you do not live in Japan and stay nowhere close to the recruiting offices overseas - ie, Australia, U.S, U.K,, you could get a chance to skype with the recruiting team instead. That is, if you pass the application screening. This was my experience:

They would have already added you on Skype prior to the interview. The interview was expected to be 10-15 minutes and I was told to review their website as homework. Here are the questions I remembered being asked:

So, why Japan?

Out of all the Eikaiwas (English conversation schools), why do you want to work for AEON?

What do you think you can bring to the company?

What are you currently doing?

Did you have a chance to look at our website?

Do you remember how many working hours are there in a week? Are you aware of the schedule? Are you ok with it?

What are the responsibilities of a teacher at AEON?

Are you okay to teach both adults and children?

What do you remember about the information on training and workshop listed on the website?

Do you remember how much is the salary? Would that work for you?

Do you know about the single occupancy apartment which comes with the contract?

Do you have a preference of where you would want to be based at?

When would you like to start?

How long are you willing to wait for a position from AEON?

Personal information questions such as passport information (as I listed it as “other” on the application).

There you have it. 15-20 minutes of the nerve-racking first interview. Congratulations on being well-prepared if you are reading and good luck.

Signs he ain't worth it.

I’d like to give you my insight on this matter. It might not be accurate to your guy/situation but it is in my experienced opinion, these are the kind of red flags you need to keep your eyes open to.

1. No cuddles I mean, sure science explains that men are incapable of cuddles after sex for whatever fucked up hormonal reasons so girls need to tolerate that shit. (For more information on this, you could visit: http://www.marsvenus.com/blog/john-gray/better-sex-for-women)

No. Just no. Don’t even consider the possibility to be true. Science is science but i have met tonnes of men who absolutely LOVE cuddling. If he doesn’t cuddle you, why are you even interested? Girl, you deserve to be cuddled whenever you want, however you want it.

2. He postpones dates There are no specific reasons why men lie. They just do. Even when they aren’t interested in you as much as you’d like them to be. He’d make plans with you but at the last minute either reschedules to another day or make excuses about being incredibly late and making you wait. Unless someone was injured or passed away, there is no legit reason why he had to make you wait instead of keeping his word. He could have just not made plans if he knew he’s busy for whatever reason but he tells you he’ll do whatever you want (but not do it) just to have you wrapped around his finger a little longer. This works because you'll still keep hoping even if he keeps disappointing. Don't fall for this trick! Your time is worth a lot. Don't waste it on people who won't appreciate it. This is a red flag!!

3. He interferes your personal matters Or at least tries. Cause he “cares”. Caring for you is a good thing. But! If he makes your problems worse than it originally was, this is not going to work. He doesn’t give jack about the consequences because you would have to bear responsibility for the shitty and intrusive decisions he made on behalf of you without your permission. This is immaturity. Why are you with an immature kid? WHY?!

4. He tells you he loves you way too soon This is similar to the article this post was inspired from, in which says he over-compliments you. If he’s giving you way too much credit for what you know yourself to be; i.e. “You are the most incredible girl I’ve ever met.” Whilst you probably are super awesome, he is also probably saying the same things to other girls you do not even know about. Other instances such as “I loves you” or “I can see myself marrying you” on your first or second or even third date. No, girl you might not freak out with the L word being said too soon, but it is not normal behavior. Guys who confess their feelings so easily are people who probably do not understand the real meaning behind the words love and commitment. You better be cautious around him instead of whatever benefit of the doubts you try to give him. For your heart’s sake.

5. He isn’t like any other guy, says him Every hopeful girl wants to believe someone good will come their way and it could be this guy. He treats you amazingly “because he isn’t like any other guy you have met or been with.” They tell you they are different from the douches you’ve met so you should give them a chance. Whilst you should give people a chance to show who they really are, but if he tries hard to convince you by words that he isn’t a jerk ever in his life, you need to do a double take at him. Don’t be a fool and fully believe it. He has got to prove it for you to believe it. Not by how he makes you feel that he is different. No. You need him to prove it with actions. Don’t be blinded by your feelings. You can misjudge due to douchey charming words or physical appearances.

6. He describes you as crazy A healthy woman isn’t crazy. Not being treated right makes her act crazy. And you shouldn’t be acting this way if he actually places you in his heart. You have legit reasons to feel angry or nervous or worried or upset. If all he does is saying you are crazy over nothing, he is a fucking douche bag you need to stop having in your life. Seriously.
