I hate feeling trapped especially when you found your way out
daily reminder that there is absolutely nothing normal about being expected to waste a majority of your life at a corporation to survive instead of indulging in better life experiences â¨
In the 1960s it was a common speculation that by 1980 the typical work week would consist of 4 days. And by the year 2000 weâd be working no more than 3 days a week.
Because of computerization, automation, and better efficiencies in workflow.
Guess what happened instead?

THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON (2017)
History isnât something you look back at and say it was inevitable. It happens because people make decisions that are sometimes very impulsive and of the moment, but those moments are cumulative realities. â Marsha P. Johnson
Queens started being filed out and being put into police cars, and guns had been drawn. Molotov cocktails were flying. And Iâm like, âOh my God, the revolution is here. Thank God. Youâve been treating us like shit all these years? Uh uh. Now itâs our turn.â â Sylvia Rivera
THE FIRST PRIDE WAS A RIOT HAPPY PRIDE | BLACK LIVES MATTER
Ha ha seriously tho.
I needed to hear this right now. <3
My new favorite post.
As someone who finished her undergrad at 40, I feel this later update. Take your time. Progress made at any speed is progress.
HEY. HOW DID YOU GET SO BIG.
WHAT KIND OF DOG ARE YOU.
I HAVE QUESTIONS FOR YOU.
here's a carrd to send pre written emails to ask for justice for several of the victims of police brutality and racism
Heads up, everyone should be writing their letters, itâs easy to set up a filter and send pre-written emails directly to the trash bin or a spam folder, and itâs even more likely to happen with a hostile force like the police.
Better worded by twitter user jackcalifano
This is critical!!!
Hello guys, sorry for long time no art but Iâve been busy on my other platforms sharing resources and news for the Black Lives Matter movement, so art is currently on pause.
Either way, this is a guide I illustrated for user chivrik on Instagram on how to properly blur and de-trace protest photos. Many protesters have gone missing or turned up dead because they were traced through images they appeared on. Donât help pigs and protect one another. ACAB and Black lives always matter.
If you need tips on protests, what is acab, defunding/reform of police, how to stay safe and links for charities/petitions, my Instagram is @/paperballz and there are saved highlights with the information. Or you can dm me.

So when people ask me what country music could be without all the âTRUCK BEER AMERICA USA THE TROOPSâ nonsense, I always tell them to listen to this here:
Which is a song about a family surviving poverty by selling moonshine and weed, and also about killing cops:
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad He headed up the holler with everything he had âFore my time but Iâve been told He never come back from Copperhead Road âŚ
And then the last verse is all like:
I volunteered for the Army on my birthday They draft the white trash first âround here anyway I done two tours of duty in Vietnam I came home with a brand new plan I take the seed from Columbia and Mexico I just plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road And now the D.E.A.âs got a chopper in the air I wake up screaming like Iâm back over there I learned a thing or two from Charlie, donâtcha know You better stay away from Copperhead Road âŚ
And I feel like this is something that Tumblr could get excited about.
usually hate posts like these because theyâre usually about legends everyone should know, but Steve Earle has always been with the shit and is very underrated
This is important.
Itâs not a âloopholeâ itâs explicit within the text of the amendment
âLoopholeâ lmfao like itâs a fucking accident, like it wasnât purposefully structured to reclaim and expand a source of free labor
We never outlawed slavery in America. We simply transferred ownership of slaves from individual landowners to the government and large corporations.
Other fun facts about prison labor corporations:
-Federal and state-run prisons usually pay their slaves minimum wage; some states, however, like Colorado, pay $2/hour.
-Private prisons pay $.17-.50/hour. The highest paying private prison is in Tennessee, which pays $.50/hour for âhighly-skilled labor.â
-You think that hasnât affected wages in the US? You think that hasnât removed manufacturing jobs from the economy?
-Companies that contract with private prisons for their slave labor include: IBM, Boeing, Motorola, Microsoft, AT&T, Wireless, Texas Instrument, Dell, Compaq, Honeywell, Hewlett-Packard, Nortel, Lucent Technologies, 3Com, Intel, Northern Telecom, TWA, Nordstromâs, Revlon, Macyâs, Pierre Cardin, Target Stores. Many, many products that say âMade in USAâ were made in prison.
-Private prisons often have quotas with the states, wherein the states contractually guarantee that they will provide a certain number of prisoners to fill the beds of a private prison, and if they donât then they owe the private prison millions of dollars. Iâm not making this up. It happened in Colorado after they legalized weed.
-States have a financial incentive to lock up their citizens.
-All of the above corporations have a financial incentive to see citizens get locked up.
-This is why Jeff Sessions is going after weed. The prison industrial complex needs slaves.
-To the shock of absolutely no one, private prisons have even more disparate racial demographics than federal/state prisons.
-Where do you think they send undocumented immigrants who have been rounded up? Thatâs right, private prisons. Thatâs why so many of them are in the South. So they take immigrants who are earning some kind of comparable wage and paying income tax to the government, and put them in prison where the wages are absurdly depressed and the prison pays virtually nothing in taxes.
-Oh yeah: private prisons pay virtually nothing in taxes. Because they technically manage real estate (prison as housing), they get all sorts of tax breaks and subsidies.
Tl;dr the prison industrial complex removes jobs from the economy, depresses wages, cheats the tax system, and ENSLAVES PEOPLE, usually people of color.
