Mumen Rider accomplished exactly as much against the Sea King as Genos did, and considerably more than all the other A-S class heroes who made the attempt, all without a single super power or even above average strength. He went in with no idea who Saitama was or what he was capable of. He had no expectation of support or rescue. He went in knowing that two of the most powerful people on the planet, not to mention a slew of people stronger than himself, had already failed to do more than delay the monster for a few seconds. Knowing that he would fail, knowing that he wasn’t going to save anybody, knowing that the only difference between him running away or him fighting is that he would die too before every one of the thousands in the shelter. But he also knew that every second that it took for the Sea King to kill him was a second in which nobody else was dying yet. A second in which there was hope for a miracle. And so he throws his goddamned bicycle at the genocidal abomination, grits his teeth, and prepares for the end. And all because of his decision, that impossible miracle does happen and help arrives before a single civilian dies. Mumen Rider saves thousands of lives, not by being fast or clever or strong, but by being a HERO.
