Whatever worked for him.

But he’d keep a close eye on Nack. Bark had learned, that rain weakened the average person’s immune system. And that meant getting sick more easily. He didn’t want anyone to get sick. He himself happened to be safe, polar bears were built for this kind of weather. But weasels weren’t. Ducks weren’t either, for that matter. He always had one reason or another to worry about the members of his team.

Another shrug. He was more worried about surviving than living luxuriously. Luxuries were nice, but they weren’t necessary the way surviving was. Paying for food, for a place to stay, for electricity so he could cook the food. Maybe he’d invest in a portable gas stove in case they couldn’t afford to keep the lights on at home.

“I’ll be happy. If everyone’s. Safe.”

There were times were Nack pondered on how did Bark find himself in this line of job. he was too kind, too gentle and way too caring of other’s well being for its own safety within a world where trust was rarer than golden dust.

“You’re always asking the right questions, aren’t you ?”Simply answered back the weasel. “As long as we keep working, and as long as we stick together, absolutly nothing will happen to us, alright ?”He added on. “We just have to watch our step and speak to the right people once in a while; and who knows, one day we might just get ourselve that early retirement.”Or an early grave, but Nack promised himself such end would never befall any of them.

Not if he had a say in the matter.

“For now, I say we don’t look too far ahead and enjoy what little break we got.”.

To the question, he shrugs.

He certainly didn’t mind the falling leaves of autumn. That was something you didn’t get in the arctic. There were trees in the tundra, but none of them had leaves. There were edible flowers, as well, but they lacked the intense flavor that a lot of plants down south held. When it came to food in the arctic, fish was the way to go.

He’s just going to continue walking, it wasn’t every day that you had free time. Not when you worked in the mercenary business, there was always a job to do. Someone to find, or someone to rescue. Someone to hurt, or someone to watch. Always something. But that was life. Or, the life he’d made for himself by this point in time.

Too late to get out. To soon to retire.

“You. Want an umbrella. Or something?”

“No, i have made peace with the fact that rain is wet.”Replied a defeated weasel. “i’ll get a towel when we head home.” Getting out. Retiring.

Nack would often think about this, but he knew for a fact that he was born into this life. He simply did not know anything else. A consideration he came to term with as well. “Now , it’d be nice to get a cushy job before the end of the year... What’s with all the expense coming our way. It’d be nice to treat ourselve with something pretty this year, don’t cha think ?”

He’s pretty happy today. It’s cold, it’s gloomy, it’s perfect weather for someone of his species to be in a city.

Water fell from the sky, causing his ears to twitch. People ran for shelter, while he continued to walk as though there was nothing going on. The cold only made him feel better. It was autumn in the southern regions now. Rainy, cold, and winter was just around the corner. Then he could look forward to the best weather of all.

Snow.

It's going to be cold. He'd love to say he hated the coming fall because of this very fact, but honestly, both bark and bean had such a great time during this period that he couldn't help but take part in the festivities as much as he did.
