Hiii!! My name is Wendigo, I'm 16, my pronouns are she/her, and this blog is just a dump for all of my interests! I have great friends, but not a lot of them share the same interests as me (if they do, they're not as fanatic as I am, lol) and with this, I hope to achieve an amazing community and make new friends. I'm also new to tumblr and learning as I go, so if you have tips please let me know! ˶‘ ᵕ ‘˶

A little more about me before we get into my fandoms: I live in the U.S. in a small town in Arizona. (I hate it here) and I'm a Junior in HS! My birthday is March 29th! I plan on continuing my education after I graduate and majoring in Journalism and Communication! I love writing and reading and used to write on Wattpad (used to be Gabriellapotter22 but my user is now qrtzv2z2) with my only published and unfinished story being 'The Girl Next Door' a HJP x reader story, which did pretty well until life got in the way.

This account is more for just straight mind dump but I might make more blogs of specific fandoms, but for now, this is a little bit of everything. My main, if you will.

Anyway, I do have a bunch of unfinished stories that I still tend to sometimes and I might post burbs of them here if anyone's interested (previous one being a mike wheeler story). Some stories are my *debatably* original ideas and some are fan-fiction. Please talk to me!! I hope I didn't yap too much.

ᯓ★ Harry Potter:

i first joined this fandom in the beginning of dracotok getting popular and actually started on the third movie for draco in 3rd year and then i saw harry and fell in love. after that, i watched the whole series, started on wattpad, my whole fyp was hp, made edits, fan accounts, even sent me into the 'wanting to be an actor' phase, got all the books and a bunch of merchandise and i still hold if very very dear to me.

ᯓ★ Criminal Minds:

my mom used to watch cm so that's how i knew what it was and then watched the series but i wanna say shortly after hp, i joined the cm fandom and i LOVE hotch. but honestly, i stopped watching maybe after season 8??? or after that when all the maeve, cat adams drama started and then when thomas gibson (hotch) left but i'm trying to watch it all the way through.

ᯓ★ Stranger Things:

i joined this fandom basically right after s1 came out, but i wasn't that active online. mike and jonathan are probably my faves (mike being first oops). that being said, i am a mike wheeler apologist and defender, a byler fan, jancy, and rovickie. i don't hate el or milieven or anything like that, but if you are a mileven fan i just ask that you be nice! this blog will talk about byler so if you don't like that, don't interact! you'll be blocked if so. i had a edit acc on tiktok for a while (@wendigoshfting) but i stopped posting on it and i probably won't again, but you can check it out! i also love finn wolfhard, he's my favorite actor.

ᯓ★ IT:

this was shortly after my strangers things phase and after i began liking finn wolfhard and i made it my mission to watch all of his movies so, here we are. i'll be honest, there's not much to say about this one, only that i love the movies (haven't read the book yet, unfortunately) and my favorite character is bill! sorry richie. (which then fell into my phase for jaeden martell).

ᯓ★ Miraculous Ladybug:

i binge MLB on a daily basis. it's the show i put on when i have nothing else to watch. ill be honest, i stopped watching after they split the episodes weirdly on different streaming apps and after cat blanc because i think they're dragging the series out unnecessarily atp but i still love it vvv!! favorite ship is probably marichat and second ladynoir. 

ᯓ★ Arcane:

i watched arcane a little too late for my likings (oct 2024) but i INSTANTLY fell in love with it. there are three sides to arcane. timebomb, caitvi, and jayvik. i lean more towards timebomb and jayvik. i don't HATE caitvi, but it's not my favorite for some reason. i can't really bring myself to like caitlyn no matter how hard i try IM SORRY. i also stumbled across caitlyn x jinx one time and i didn't hate it..? i think i just really love enemies to lovers dynamics. i love ekko.

ᯓ★ The Rookie:

this one started maybe late 2023? a little late, i know, but i love it very much! i haven't finished s6 or s7 because i used to use my cousins hulu but i got logged out and i'm too lazy to log back in or ask her for the password or the new one or whatever. as expected, i love chenford, but i LOOOOVE wesley and angela. i can't even guess how much i cried for jackson's death.

ᯓ★ Percy Jackson:

i got into percy jackson WAY later than i should've. i did read lightning thief when i was in like 6th grade but i didn't really take to it (rarely paid attention tbh) and i did watch the movies but i regrettably got into it more after the show came out. i do have all the books on my kindle though and reading them is a work in progress. i don't really think i have a favorite character, i really love them all. i did take to the actors. love charlie and i had a whole phase with walker until it came out that he was allegedly MAGA so even if it's mostly skeptics, i choose to just steer away from him. (honestly sad because i finally had a celebrity crush my age but oh well!) i think if i had to choose a favorite character it'd be luke because i think his character is very well written and complex and i love complex characters.

ᯓ★ Hamilton:

again, i got into this way later than everyone else (summer of 2025) but i love it so sososos much i don't know how i didn't like watch it earlier. not much to say on this other than i love it!

ᯓ★ Fantastic Beasts (basically everything before HP timeline):

absolutely love the fantastic beast movies and take a liking to care of magical creatures (would 100% be a magizoologist). it's so cool to see the history that is briefly mentioned in the HP movies and books. i also have a fic of tom riddle x my oc before he turned into voldemort...love the idea but have not finished it nor have i started writing it yet but i just love seeing the universe expand. so i like golden trio era, marauders, and the riddle era.

here are some more shows/movies i like but aren't big on: TUA, TSITP, MLWTWB, maxton hall, culpa mia (my fault) series and the london ver (better than the og tbh), descendants, zombies, I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. it's where i got my real name (mystery for you guys), i love musicals, teen beach movie series, tim burton movies, and tinker bell. so much more but i think i've yapped enough. OH I LOVE GREESE AND HAIRSPRAY

music i like: almost everything. jazz, alt pop, alt rock, indie, rock, some metal, rap, hip-hop, oldies, latin, soul, classical, pop rock, punk, folk, blues, and i dabble in country and rave music sometimes.

artsits i like: tv girl, jeff buckley, arctic monkeys, chase atlantic, ariana grande, bad bunny, the beatles, beabadoobee, pinkpantheress, billie, boa, boygenius, brent faiyaz, childish gambino, kendrick, CLAIRO (i saw her last october (2024) for her charm tour) PTV (saw them this summer 2025) cuco, deftones, doechii, sza, esha tewari, eyedress, faye webster, fall out boy, panic at the disco, lana, some taylor swift, mac demarco, mac miller, malcom todd, marias, old melanie martinez, mitski, mother mother, the nbhd, tears for fears, tyler the creator, suicide boys, lil peep, weezer, and so sososo much more i'll have to make a playlist or smth

i recently got into k-pop and open to more; new jeans, illit, txt, blackpink, bts, le sserafim, twice, aespa.

i cannot stress enough how much i love finn as an actor, musician, director, and artist over all so i love ALL of his music (calpurnia, aubreys, and his newest album; happy birthday)

i also love the book series AGGGTM, girl in pieces, if he had been with me/if only i had told her books, and poetry. i love writing but probably won't be pursuing it as a career (besides being a journalist)

anyways, my general likes: cats, red, kuromi, cantelope, seafood, dying my hair (currently teal/green)

i think that's about it! i love you so much if you read all the way through or so much as SKIMMED that means a lot. i'm new so i don't know if i yapped too much. i don't know how to summarize.

As a byler I can't dispute how will has never given a damn about mike's wellbeing before and i'm tired of pretending otherwise. will would rather play d&d than acknowledge mike getting threatened by a powerful adult in season 3.

He stood with people who invalidated how Mike was feeling in s3 and went for the safe surface level arguement he was posing instead of the hidden emotional one. and evidently will would rather flirt with a boy who is, as far as we know, still his sister's boyfriend, than ask if mike is okay when mike's family is being targeted.

At a deeper level, I don't think Will understands him at least now, and even though seemingly he is better than El in season 4, in season 5, it's fallen off.

the one time will actually protected mike was when will accepted that his whole thing was never ABOUT mike. which makes it feel like a platonic act. it's giving 'romance would ruin their friendship, DO NOT DO THE ROMANCE'. we all saw how that went for mike and el, after all. Idk, I'm still a byler since this would be great with Will's arc but Mike genuinely doesn't need a romance at this point.

It’s fucking ridiculous to claim that Will does not show any concern for Mike or his family, or their well-being. He was literally having panic attacks on screen and crying because he was being forced to watch the attack take place on Mike’s family. He warned them and by extension Nancy since she was in the room as fast as he could manage. Will has grown up with the Wheeler family, he spent his whole childhood in their house and clearly loves them. He even disobeyed Joyce and did what he could to try and help Holly. He even said he refused to sit and do nothing because he knows how Holly would be feeling!!!

Mike being threatened by Hopper? Oh please, give me a break. Will knows Hopper, he saved Hopper’s life and Hopper spent a year accompanying Joyce and Will on their visits to the lab. While he and Hopper might not be especially close, he knows very well that Hopper would never in a billion years harm Mike or any other kid. Will has actually endured physical abuse from Lonnie. These things are simply not the same. Hopper telling Mike to fuck off and stop obsessing over his daughter isn’t to be conflated with Mike being physically harmed. And Hopper was right, Mike and El were spending too much time together and it wasn’t healthy or normal. He shouldn’t have reacted the way he did, but it’s not like he was physically abusing Mike or even threatened to harm him. Mike was being a disrespectful dickhead and laughing at Hopper and mocking him in El’s ear to make himself feel cool. He was being an asshole to everyone in their friend group, he gave zero fucks about where Dustin was and completely neglected the party. That’s canon. Deal with it.

Will was completely justified for snapping at Mike during the rain scene. He was right about everything he said. And Mike knew it, which is why he corrected his behavior after the fact by making Lucas call Dustin after he didn’t answer. It’s why Mike rallied Max and El at the first sign of danger. Will smacked him upside the head with a much needed reality check. And this was after Mike sat there and made fun of Will to his face. I personally would not have taken the disrespect and wouldn’t have been half as nice as Will was to Mike. Will also didn’t ask Mike to follow himself outside. He announced he was done with his bullshit and was going home! Only after Mike followed him and tried to make excuses for his fucked up behavior did Will snap on him.

Also, Will didn’t start the flirting in the field scene, Mike did! And to add onto your other point, Will doesn’t and will NEVER view Mike as his “sister’s boyfriend”. Period. Mike is Will’s best friend of 11, almost 12 fucking YEARS during season 5. PERIOD. Mike initiated flirting by giving this whole speech about how Will has powers and is magical ✨ and all Will did was give him a playful shove in response. He’s responding to “signals” MIKE is sending, not the other way around. Let’s not get it twisted. Will would have no reason to think Mike has interest in him if Mike and El were even together, which we by the way, have no indication they actually are. They broke up in season 4 and their relationship has not been acknowledged since.

Will spent the entirety of season 4 making Mike feel better about himself. He did nothing BUT show concern for Mike. Be so for real. Who made Mike feel less insecure? WILL! Who made Mike feel genuinely loved for the first time? WILL! Who inspired Mike to be the leader they need, the leader he wants to be? WILL FUCKING BYERS!

Will accepting himself wasn’t him accepting that his love for Mike is unrequited. It has nothing to do with mutuality! It has everything to do with him accepting that he DOES love Mike and that that is OKAY! That there is nothing wrong with him for being gay! And Mike? He’s fucking smiling watching it all because he KNEW Will had the ability and he’s finally seeing Will accept and love himself! He’s finally seeing his best friend since he was 5 years old, who has been abused by the whole town and his dad finally fight back! Will HAS to love himself before he can be with Mike. That is integral to a healthy romantic relationship. That was the entire point of the scene. Him saving Mike wasn’t an act of platonic love. He acknowledges how deeply he loves Mike and how important their relationship has always been to his life, and as he said in s4, it gives him the courage to fight on despite it all.

Saying “oh well Will never protects Mike” is such bs. Bro was in another dimension in s1, how the hell could he have helped Mike? Bro was literally possessed by an eldritch horror in s2, once again how the hell could he protect Mike? And despite that, he still was able to warn them before the lab was attacked and found the ability to communicate through the possession to tell them to CLOSE THE GATE knowing it would kill him. He wanted them all to be safe, INCLUDING MIKE, even if he died! He was only 13 and was going to kill himself to make sure they all survived!

people making hundreds of posts explaining byler proof in season 5 is amazing but i also strongly believe this was all the proof we ever needed. s2 was the start of it all. we should've all know from this exact moment they weren't just bestfriends

the lighting is SO dramatic in the shed scene and the framing is focusing on them and only them, even though so many people were in the room it's like they don't care, it's just an intimate and super ass emotional moment between them im going to jump I swear.

the second "you said yes" has a tragic softness in the voice that you only hear from a grandma talking about her middle school lesbian situationship i'm so serious. mike as a character has been bottling up his emotions so much that this is one of the rare scenes in the series where we see him truely cry. LOOK. AT. HIM.

so yeah I just think that this is one of their most romantic scenes ever to this day, nothing does it like s2 byler. and dare i say this is when byler truely started like as a thing in this show.

Thank you to the craziest homophobe I've ever seen who responded to my post after volume 1, now every time I start to internalize what anti-Byler fans have said, I remember you telling me that Will using his acceptance of his queerness to harness his powers is something that did not happen at all and that I made up, and I remember y'all motherfuckers will say ANYTHING to convince yourselves this show is still about you and so not-credible it's actually funny, calling me delusional while denying canon plotlines that were SPOONFED to you.
