NOTE:
You can use your favorite sauces for this recipe. However, ketchup is an integral sauce for this recipe, so to get that restaurant style shashlik flavor you will have to use tomato ketchup. To make it spicier, you can use chili garlic ketchup which is popular in India and Pakistan.
Lal Mirch, also known as Kashmiri powder, has a bright red color and a mild, smoky flavor. The seeds are removed before the chili pepper is ground into powder. This results in a pleasantly hot taste. Kashmiri powder retains its red color during cooking and is excellent for curries, sauces, and vegetable dishes. It is an important ingredient in Tandoori chicken and popular in many Indian dishes.
