“Right?” He groaned and ran a hand over his face. “I swear my fiance does the thing where she’ll say ‘oh you don’t have to get me anything special’ but if I get her something little she’ll pout and I don’t want or need that”

“Trust me I’m going to be no help man. I have no clue what to get my girlfriend and at this rate she is going to be getting nothing for Christmas.” He sighed softly looking at the screen as the different things scrolled by.
"I wish i could be help to you. But im failing miserably at thinking of something for my fiance and ive been with her 4 years now"

"Well obviously i do" he grumbled. "I just want it to be a good gift. Something special and all that. They deserve it"

"I'm trying!" He groaned and rubbed his jaw before scooting over and motioning to the laptop. "I just want it to be something good.. special. You know?"

“Yes, Wes, vampires.” Jenna couldn’t help but laugh, too. It WAS insane, even for Jenna who used to crash Wes and Laurel’s date nights to talk about conspiracy theories. “But don’t laugh. We’re humans, dude, we don’t stand a chance if a vampire gets hungry.”
“You’re sounding like a crazy person right about now Jen,” He snorted again. “I can’t help but laugh at the idea of all this.

“Wes, stop.” Laurel halted, reaching out to take his hand. “I love my ring. There’s no reason to run yourself dry trying to buy something bigger.” She declared, shaking her head. “I love this one, okay? It’s perfect.”
“But you deserve it.” He sighed and leaned down to rest his forehead against hers. “One day...that’s a promise.” He kissed her quickly.

“I didn’t know you had the ring for.. that long.” She stated. The two had been together for a while, sure, but Laurel had simply imagined that Wes had bought a ring only a decent amount of time before asking.
“I sort of had it since our first anniversary” He shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. “But I wanted to get you something bigger, nicer, I just couldn’t afford it...and I’m still working on that.”

Listening intently, she thought back then how things were and how they are now, and placed herself and Brooke in the situation he had provided. Brooke was important to Alexis, so much so that she understood what he was implying even in that brief explanation and she would be lying if she didn’t say it TERRIFIED her. “Is it really that easy?” She inquired further, digging in for her own curiosity sake. “Did you weigh in the odds? Were you not scared?”
“It’s not all easy. But in the end it’s worth it. Or at least to me it was.” Wes ran his hand along his jaw. “Nope, I just took a leap of faith and thankfully it panned out for me.” He laughed with a nod. “Fucking terrified. But you’ve gotta do things that scare you sometimes”
With everything happening around them, one would think that Jenna would be more EXCITED, and she was, but she was also a little scared. She was just a plain old human with a bizarre range of interests, and in no way could the occult studies professor hold her own against anything other than human — and even then, she’d probably struggle. “Anyway,” Jenna started as she turned to the person beside her. “It’s not like this year could get any weirder, right? Last I heard… there was a fucking vampire in the staff kitchen. Like, what’s next?" Naturally, she was just making a joke. In reality, Jenna wanted to get more information on the gossip that soared all around her, and what better way?
“Vamipires now Jen?” Wes smirked and looked over his shoulder at her. “It has been a weird year I will give you that much”
“I’m more of a visual artist, but I think I kind of get what you mean. I’ve also never been the best at sports I’ve always been a little on the small and weak side. But everyone’s good at something”
“So what is your specialty then?” He cocked his head to the side. “I’m just really lanky and awkward. I may be tall but don’t let that fool you, I’m not good at basketball or volleyball.” He chuckled
“Art. Like, canvas stuff. Traditional, I guess?” he never really knew how to describe what he did, art wise. “Really?” He paused to observe Wes a little closer. “You seem like you’d be really good at sports and stuff. Maybe baseball.”
"I tried to play once. Then I got hit in the eye and had a black eye for a week and never played again" Wes laughed and shrugged a little.
