I've literally seen footage
i watched a really insane guilty gear combo video with cadence the other day. it was titled like “10x sidewinder dustloops” which clickbaited me because i know that’s almost completely impossible. it was way stranger than i thought it would be, firstly because it was narrated entirely through segments of lyrics video style text. there are several mechanics in that game that make it nearly impossible to do that combo. in guilty gear accent core +r when a player is knocked into the air a timer begins for when they regain control of their character, which gets reset but shortened every time you get hit. certain moves (sidewinder) have a property that can effectively extend this, but it has to be a “clean hit.” the hitbox for sidewinder has to touch a very small section of the other player’s hurtbox or it will not count as a “clean hit” and the combo fails. the problem is this section shrinks every time you hit it during the same combo, all the way down to a single pixel. so, to do this combo you must hit at least nine clean hit sidewinders, seven of which must literally be pixel perfect. then, the tenth sidewinder has to be roman cancelled into. the video ended with footage of the single time he was able to do 9 in a row, then another screen of windows movie maker lyric video text describing himself as an average guy talented at nothing. saying he wasn’t even good at guilty gear. that he just wanted to see if he could do it, so he practiced for like 1300 hours and is still going at the time of that video, still trying to hit nine in a row again so he can try the tenth one. that if someone with no talent like him can do this, you could do anything. it ended with a frame saying “light your hearts on fire”

I would have a great deal more respect for fans of "1ch1h1m3" if it was an actual ship and not just Orihime listening to Lovefool on repeat alone in her bedroom. girl pick yourself up.
actually, every song in First Band on the Moon fits her - its kind of impressive. what the FUCK was Kubo cooking????

The Temporal Extra of IchiRuki
Let me explain to you how extra Ichigo and Rukia are through the phenomenon of time:
They meet on either May 11th or 18th of 2001. Rukia is taken on July 19th. That’s either 63 or 70 days, and really subtract 1 because she showed up very late at night. So 62 or 69 days. Mind you, we do not see a whole half of this time period, from June 18th to July 17th.
They are briefly reunited for about 5 minutes on the Senzaikyuu on August 5th, and for like maybe 5 minutes on August 6th at the Soukyoku.
They have a week together from August 7th to August 13th in Soul Society. That’s 7 days.
They have a day together from September 7th to September 8th in Karakura. That’s 1 day.
They’re reunited briefly during the fight with Grimmjow on October 29th. Ichigo is injured. Let’s call it maybe 10 minutes.
They meet up again when Ukitake and Yamamoto are dishing out orders for perhaps 5 minutes on October 31st.
They once more run into each other for at most a few hours in Hueco Mundo before splitting up on November 1st. Everything happened on that one day, so let’s call it 90 minutes.
They’re reunited for all of a few seconds before Ichigo heads up to the Dome of Las Noches. Let’s call it 15 seconds.
After his return to save her from Yammy, they’re together for a few minutes. Let’s call it 5 minutes.
Later, Rukia will see Ichigo for perhaps a minute or so before he collapses from losing his powers.
When Ichigo wakes up on December 2nd, they have perhaps 10 minutes together before he loses his ability to see her.
In other words, out of between 198 and 205 days from the start of this sequence of events, they were together for between 70 and 77 days, plus about 120 minutes. And then for the last almost three months, they were together for about 110 of those minutes in total. In other words, they were only together about 1/3 of the time, and it was overwhelmingly front-loaded.
AND THEY STILL LOOKED AT EACH OTHER LIKE THIS:

GHOST IN THE SHELL: STAND ALONE COMPLEX - Episode 24, "BARRAGE"
Barrage is a great episode. something that always stands out to me about SAC is simply how much they manage to fit into a twenty minute episode. this particular episode operates as an anticlimax of sorts, in essence a second half of episode 24.
It's quite funny to me how effortlessly Saito is apprehended - i'm sure this says something about his position relative to the Ideal Soldier of the Future. he's neither super cybered up, nor super jacked in to the internet. he and Paz are very similar in that regard.
Barrage is probably the most overtly romantic Ghost in the Shell episode, at least in the first season. You see, it's MISSION CRITICAL that Batou disobeys orders to find the Major's sole sentimental keepsake. normal coworker behavior. this is to say nothing about the intimate hiding-from-police-helicopter scene in the Major's OTHER safehouse, or how he cries out her given name(!!!) in anguish when the sniper shoots her head off.
the bit with the Tachikomas coming to his rescue of their own free will is cute too. something that I find fascinating about ghost in the shell is the contrast between Batou and Togusa as "human" characters. for the most part, the Major is entirely inhuman and operates on a cool, calculated logic and finesse that's very blatantly the product of her distance from 'humanity.' Togusa is directly meant to contrast the typical "section 9 attitude" by being a much more vulnerable character, both physically and emotionally. he's the most human character in the show. except, not really. Togusa demonstrates all of the weaknesses of 'humanity'; he is a weaker and frailer than his colleagues, he's pretty naive at times, and is a lot more easily rattled. I think the character that most represents the strengths of humanity and connect is actually Batou. both season finales regard Batou's ability to connect with other people (his ability to be human) as the thing that ultimately succeeds in saving the day. in Barrage, it's his dedication to the Tachikomas that drives them to return the favor and save him (and the Major's watch, the thing the finale is REALLY about) and later intercept the nuclear missile fired at dejima. Batou's empathy is also responsible for saving everyone on the tactical team from the sec4 ranger squad.
this is not to say the Major isn't a human character - in fact she goes to great lengths to assert her humanity, and in regards to being a human organism, she handily proves her own existence a thousand times over. her personal sense of freedom and choice are irrepressible, and that's fucking awesome. but 'being' isn't necessarily the same thing as 'doing.' Batou 'does' humanity the best out of the whole cast. And he thinks the Major's the best thing since sliced bread, and trusts her with his life. Batou is less concerned about personal freedom, but perhaps more concerned with personal responsibility. the Major says she's willing to change her entire persona at the drop of a hat if need be in episode 24, which we come to learn is partially bullshit - the persona she maintains is very much intentional and something that has great sentimental value to her. but it's not entirely bullshit. the Major is someone willing to unreservedly adapt herself to new circumstances. Her sense of self is strong enough that she doesn't fear change changing her. Batou is perhaps more reliant on structure. Jungle Cruise shows us how surprisingly regulated he is as a person. he's committed to his role in society, and considers his past selves discreet categories separate from who he is in the now. a lawman doesn't kill without orders to do so, and he's a lawman at that moment. when he's no longer a lawman in Barrage, he doesn't have any qualms with mulching the tactical team sent to intercept him at the Major's villa - something he DOES have qualms with in This Side of Justice when facing off against the sec4 rangers, as he is again a lawman. Batou is a man that, in order to remain human, needs to understand and acknowledge his limits - this is why his hobby is weightlifting.
anyways can we talk about how Togusa is the "Potential Man" of SAC? the guy's a fraud and powerscales below ever other member of Section 9.
they call him 007:
0 masterminds apprehended
0 witnesses saved from death
7 missed anniversaries
WHAT DOES HE EVEN DO????
"Just wait until Batou's .45 jams!" "He's just too nice!" "He has a wife and kid to take care of back home!" "he's held back by his minimal cyberization!" (ignores Saito and Paz)
If Togusa was with the Major in germany i GUARANTEE he would've somehow killed that blind girl. Goatoko Kusanagi would never...
