I hope this doesn't sound rude, I don't mean it to be. Do therapists genuinely care? I know it is your job to but do you really really care about your clients?

When I'm too busy and forget to eat lunch
My partner asks what I ate today and I'm just like:

Out of nowhere they're like:

Wait... I had a blog!?
---
We're back in business! After almost a 2 year hiatus (yikes!), WhenInSocialWork has returned.
When I first started this blog, I had about ten followers. I enjoyed it, but due to job changes and general life stuff, this little hobby I started for fun (and self-care) fell to the wayside. When I wanted to return, I may or may not have forgotten both my e-mail and tumblr password... Turns out, almost a year after *that*, I found it and came back to over 4,000 followers! What the hell happened guys!? I'm so glad people enjoyed and related to some of these while I was gone. That being said - I also came back to a box full of messages (including my first hate mail, woo hoo! I feel officially initiated onto Tumblr). While I can't possibly reply to all of them, I will try my best to get back to folks.
Sorry to leave everyone hanging, but enjoy the new posts!

LOVE this blog
No questions, just absolutely hilarious and soooo real. Congrats lov your blog I am doing a post about it so keep posting!! ;)
Love your blog, Heading to college in the fall to major in social work. Any tips?
Thanks! Here's what I can think of:
1. Get comfortable not knowing exactly what to do all the time. No one does.2. Make sure you have a good placement/internship/practicum/whatever they call it in your program.3. Make friends with other people in your program/in social services. They get it. Or at least people who can put up with craziness.4. Get comfortable being out of your comfort zone.5. At the same time, know your limits. Take care of yourself.6. You get what you put into it. 7. Get licensed afterward (if you're getting your MSW that is).8. Enjoy the ride. I love what I do, it's a great field. Congrats!
