Please Help Me With Andy’s Medications
Hey everyone, my cat, Andy, the sweetest cat alive, underwent a procedure yesterday (12/19/17) to have two of his teeth extracted. They found a massive infection in his jaw and cleared it as best they could, administering an antibiotic for him afterwards. Today we noticed a really significant swelling in his throat, his head was shaking when he tried to move it, and his eyes were darting from side to side. He couldn’t walk straight and was really lethargic and not moving around a lot, nor was he eating, drinking, or taking his pain medication.
It got worse and we ended up taking him to the emergency vet’s tonight (12/20/17). They diagnosed him with Horner’s and Vestibular disease, links to which have been provided if you want to get some more information. The vet said that this was extremely uncommon after these procedures, and now Andy is on 5 medications. This cost, plus the cost of the procedure yesterday, has cost us $800.
We paid it, however, now we’re in a pretty tight money situation and since I barely get to work, my mother had to cover the cost. My goal is to pay her back AT LEAST $300 considering the holiday season and this unexpected cost has really impacted our family.

Please reblog this as much as you’re willing to, I really need to get the word out to as many people as I can because no one warned me that this was a possibility when I brought him in to get his teeth taken care of and the effects could possibly be permanent.
