A better look at our cave home and our connection to poli. This takes place before mc gets kidnapped, since he has the dream and then goes out.
Merry Christmas yall, updating this cuz my favorite story was updated! This was originally 1 chapter, but got too long and beefy so I had to split it. Hope you don't mind the extra words, it has lore trust.

Oh, how wonderful it is to be able to rest peacefully, surrounded by his fluffy friends with full bellies and secure safety. One can't help but doze off, no? Grow complacent. Sluggish. Slow. Believe in safety. And it is safe, for there are many whose domains protect the vulnerable! But not to outsiders.
As the giant caretaker goes to rest, the littler one sets up a gift for the other. Not in the physical senses, but more of a dream come true kind, albeit temporarily. As you wait for the other to enter the realm of slumber, you quickly snatch them before they enter a dreamless sleep, instead, offering a much brighter one.
He opens his one eye to see that, firstly, he could see again. Turning his head to look around, he can see the roof of the cave, turns his head to the side and sees the flock he so cherished, they seem fairly far away, at least the entrance is blocked. He can hear them happily playing or snoozing about all over near the entrance. Another cursory glance and he can see a small hole in the cave's wall that doesn't lead to the outside, but to a smaller cave. He can sense you sleeping in your own little abode high up in the wall, peeking through the doorway of it to see a sleeping bundle wrapped in a cloth.Taking his sights off you, he goes back to homeseeing. He can see unimpeded here, so he must be dreaming again, just as he did when he fell asleep after the night of the sheep returning home.Home... looks so different now. Originally, he believed home to be with his brothers and sisters in the encampment, huddled around a lit fire as they told stories of the gods and there strengths as he listened in awe of their stories. Or perhaps waiting by the seashore for his father to visit. Slowly, however, as the hope of getting his attention grew dim, his eagerness to be worthy of attention grew. Desperate for some kind of attention. Shaking his head he loses those thoughts quickly. But now his home is here. In his homey little cave, far from the others, far from the shore, but full of those that walk on all fours. His home… is with his sheepfold, which he wholeheartedly adores.My, a poem fit for the muses wouldn't you agree! The rear end of a flute and lyre tune echoes in the winds of the cave as they mutter praises of a very well-received thought poem, the muses giggle at the feeling.The wording is simple, they all agree but the feelings attempting to be portrayed are pure and full, for someone deeply treasured, a familial muse. It has been quite a while since someone has submitted a thought to them, always, a mere human now is dubbed “a muse”, how laughable. The Muses cut off their connection before their malice seeps through, no point scaring off someone who still believes in them.Caught in his musings, he focuses his sight and mind back on what is happening around him. He spent many suns feeling every nook and cranny in the cave that you insisted they move to, trying to picture it in his mind so that he could still picture it despite his loss of sight. But the new additions you added still appear blank to him, despite how many times he gently feels them to try and grasp their looks. What in the seven seas is a slide? Or a New York apar-te-ment? He turns his eye to his surroundings. The cave is much larger than he thought it would be; the ceilings are so high! His attention shifts to a commotion to his right, and he can see the sheep in their grassy paddock near the cave entrance, currently blocked by a large stone. The sheep are so fat and noisy, and his heart blooms with joy; it seems they have no fear thanks to being so sheltered, he cannot believe he was fortunate enough to have such a strong, wonderful flock.He shifts his weight and almost falls off the rock he was perched on (scratch that, he did fall, jack and jill style). Now even farther from the ceiling but closer to his sheep, he rights himself and approaches them. But is surprised to see that they are the same size as him, with him being only a head taller, his whole hand so small. He checks his hands, now small and stubby, he pats himself down to check out more. His head is a delicate color of white due to his fluffy wool, his feet turned hooves are black and stubby, confusingly, he has something almost akin to thumbs too. The realm of hypnos is fascinatingly peculiar, too bad he cannot enter it often. Finished with his check down his mind nearly slips away, shifting to another scene, another dreamscape, before a distraction pierces through with an emotion stronger than anything before it, excitement and yearning love.
Hold on- if he’s tiny and in a dream, then he can finally do this!
Launching himself into a pile that was previously a group of slumbering sheep, he can now cuddle them without fear of crushing them, just hearing exasperated baaah’s and not the crunch of bones. He’s so small! He childishly laughs into the fluff of a nearby sheep, not bothered by his added weight, since he’s so very, very small now! Maybe he’s You size? He’d love to be able to hug you fully without the risk of crushing you; he’ll definitely do that if you appear. He thinks as he tries to remember how large you were compared to the sheep. Last time he carried you, you took up half of his palm, so how big were the sheep compared to that, uhhhhh-
He tries to recall but a displeased baahh bleats right into his ear and he recoils enough that the complaining lamb manages to escape under him. Nuzzling deeper into the pile of softness and wool despite more disgruntled babies attempting to squirm away to find a new napping spot, the few under him he clings onto tightly as they try to flee.
After a while, he gets up from the pile of fluff and sets his eye on another new addition he hasn’t been able to perceive properly, but is very eager to know more about, the place where you gather the food! He has no idea what an “aggressive culture” is, doesn’t know what one looks like, but knows it's somehow related to the food your growing and that he's saying it wrong. Well, sorry he isn't the most educated cyclops, Lamby! But father thought that all his siblings and he needed to learn were hunting and fighting skills. All this knowledge he has besides that came from you. As he never left his island since his birth, even when he still had his sight. Lastly, after his injury, the trouble hasn't been worth the contest to try to leave, especially with the added patrols father insisted.
He follows along a path, guided by prickly bushes to keep anyone from entering except from the entrance at the end of it. Smells a multitude of scents ranging from sweet berries and fruits to herbs he knows are good for healing and should be kept in stock, but he still dislikes them because of their tastes. That one leaf smelled sweet but burned his tongue! He goes past another entrance to a different plot, knowing that the leaves from the ground are for the flock and follows the path down further, passing a sign he doesn't notice nor read that states where he is heading to.

On a sign, staked through the ground, is a board that keeps track of all the farm's business, expected harvest time to what other packs are included and also this neat thing about aftereffects- and he’s gone right past it. Probably not important anyway.

He pushes past a large leaf curtain, dropping down from intertwined tree branches used as an arch, as small bells meant to deter wandering sheep, tangle around him. Detangling himself from the strings is easier due to his height, but his arms are much shorter now. As he finally stumbles into the farm grounds, he is amazed at the sight before him, letting out a gasp of awe.
A vast multitude of colors tower above him. Colors he didn’t even know existed, ranging from the normal colors of the earth to as blue as the sky! He’s standing underneath trees as wind and leaves tickle him, gazing at your work as the midday rays of apollo shine through the hole in the cave’s ceiling, allowing the sun's rays to color the crops as golden as his chariot.The crops you dutifully tended and proudly chatter to him about, large, golden and shiny, at his current height they reach up to his armpits that it tickles him. He goes further in, past the plants in full sun, and moves under the shady tree branches.
He’s tried to imagine your “or-herd” before, you said they were like a small forest of trees, but specifically only fruit-bearing ones. He tried to imagine it using the descriptor you gave him and his older memories of being under forest trees when he still played under them as a youngling, before he outgrew the trees and its gentle cover.
He reaches up to grab a nearby fruit from the branches that barely fits in his hands due to its massive size. How does a puny shrub and branch produce something this large? If this is your doing, you're a wonderful tender to both the sheep and crops. He applies gentle pressure to the fruit in his hand as a small dribble of juice breaks out from its skin.
The smell is familiar and he can immediately recognize it. It's your favorite fruit, and the pride and joy of your crops. A sweet-smelling fruit that he can now see is as yellow as the sun, a “Man” or something. He can see the resemblance; it's so soft and squishy. He remembers what the taste is like as he takes a bite of the fruit. The sweetness hits him as he remembers when you first fed this to him, baahhing on and on about how great it was to be able to grow tropical fruit in such a musty cave. “No offence Poli! But no matter what we do, it somehow always ends up back to musty! That's the real magic.” you huffed as you tossed a mix of fruits into his larger bowl after properly tending to the sheep’s meal, fruit snacks for the both of you.
Reminiscing of you, he hears another commotion and senses your approach, a familiar bell chime getting closer. You are coming from the direction he just left, most likely waking from the noise and you popped out of your cave in the wall to check on them, you always did that and always climbed up to him to ask what was wrong. He expected his mind to imagine you just as he left you, before your neck was bleeding out in front of him.
He can still vividly picture it. Your bright, dazzling wool with a light golden sheen, was dirtied with blood and rocks as you lay on the ground unmoving. The white spot on your muzzle shaped in a heart, covered by an arrowhead being yanked out roughly.
What pops out from the trees instead was a peculiar sight, a shape that was undoubtedly sheep-like, but it stands on two legs, it has white wool and black hooves, sure, but… The rest of its upper body is unseen, covered in a bright cloak, leaving only the fluffy head peeking out.
Lamby? It smells like them, but they look so odd... Perhaps that is standard for ghost sheep? But you truly look so different, your birthmark of a white heart on your black muzzle is gone now. He always loved to bop it every mealtime, now replaced by a black mark coloring your wool on your forehead, in the shape of a crown.You're wearing the cloak especially for you, with that soft chiming bell, so it must be you, weird dream or not.
You smile at him, something he hasn't ever imagined to be filled with teeth like that, and eyes wider than normal, filled with a glint of mischief he is sure he only recognizes due to himself gazing at his own as he got scolded for trouble. You speak something to him, but he can't hear, as if his ears are filled with wool. Odd, his dream must be breaking or something, can they do that? But he thought that all things crafted by the divine were impossible to break.
‧₊˚✧[But perhaps those beings weren't all that great, and Man-made domains falter eventually. ]✧˚₊‧
He swats away at something buzzing in his ear.
Confused but eager, he approaches your figure, but you seem to evade him, appearing behind another set of trees. He can hear you giggling every time you change positions, in tune with the rustling of leaves and the kicking up of dirt. Perhaps this is a game? Oh, he loves games!He chases you around the forest, legs stubbier than he would like, but enjoying the game even more, he feels like a youngling again!
Both of you are giggling, although yours sounds weirder than normal, like a rustle of metal is blocking your voice. Something is wrong with Lamby’s eyes too; they seem glazed over, almost hazy. They didn't always look like that, right? So dead? You're slowing down your running, he hasn't been able to tag you just yet, but he's gotten so close. Maybe you're just getting tired? But you're playing so energetically, so you can't be sleepy.
He trips on a root and rolls on the ground. He hears you stop running, soft padded footsteps approaching him as he stands up again. Ruffling dirt and stones out from his newly wool-covered body. Standing up and chasing playfully again.
He has never dreamt so happily, seeing you and the other sheep, even in a dream, you couldn't have made him happier, so what if you walked on legs and looked peculiar? It doesn't seem to stop your fun or cause you pain; you must have picked it up from him! Walking on two legs is way better anyway! You can reach stuff much more easily.
He lunges at you once more after his brief respite of watching the sunset color your wool. Have they truly played all day? Poli eventually catches up to you, he can't seem to get tired or get enough of this fun. You're slowing down too, but you don't rest to catch your breath. How unfair, he's incredibly tired! Who knew dreams could be so exhausting? You suddenly stand as still as a rock, he smiles and grabs your arm, thinking your making it easier for him. He huffs a victorious baaah (it's incredibly fun to do that!), As he tugs you on the limb but quickly let's go as you scream. He suddenly feels incredibly afraid, not of you of course, your his Lamb!
But because that painful sound you just let out was so horrifically afraid, a sound of both a dying sheep bleating out and an agonizing human begging for air.As you stop with a panting breath, your eyes never move even as he approaches your side. He goes to reach for you again, gentler this time as if afraid to spook you out of whatever has caused you to cease screaming. He doesn't wish to hear that sound again.
"Lamby?"

You are in charge of watching over the flock when the cyclops is away, and the easiest method of watching over them is by putting them to sleep so they don’t wander. You might've been a bit loud, though. Why is there a god asleep on the ground?!

Poli went out for… something, you weren't listening very much since you were busy with your own issues. So now you're stuck with watching the sheep again, which normally would be okay, but right now you are trying to figure out what went wrong with the system that caused the sudden World shift, and they keep wandering about!
Neru said this wasn't supposed to happen since they had fail safes, but not impossible to encounter, since previous users experienced it as well, despite it all.
Neru panicked when they couldn't find a way to solve the problem at first, nearly flying through the screen with how fast they were going. You told them to keep calm and that you have faith in their abilities; they saved you before.
Just avoid interacting with anything powerful, and you should stabilize enough to find the problem. Just ignore the numerous powerful entities in this world while being deep in one of their territories, and we should be fine!
Let’s be optimistic, since this Poseidon appears neglectful enough to avoid coming to the island before you can sense him and hide, you should probably be fine.

You are currently wrangling back Parton, Dolly’s twin, back to the flock since that lamb, mischievous and energetic, got startled by a butterfly and ran off.
You can hear the sheep baa-ing and running further in, you calmly follow after the panicky sheep, slowly scaring the sheep towards one of your traps built for runaway sheep and later hear the trap click into action and a confused baa follows. You climb out of the shrubbery and into a clearing where you spot Parton, pinned down by a net, finally calming down since the butterfly flew away.
“Cheeky Parton, you fought a weird hog beast but are afraid of a butterfly?” you shake your head as you approach the calm animal and unhook him from the trap and tie a lead to his homemade collar, you cut from the cyclop’s spare clothes. He has luxurious, high quality cloth but still chooses the toga you made for him.
Which, sweet of him to cherish it, but c'mon dude! This was perfectly good too. Not that the clothes you made him were bad or anything, you tried to copy the style of the traditional robes of Greece, but the clothes you made were just slightly off, given they were made with modern techniques.
Which looked out of place before, but not anymore since apparently? The gods here have instagram and social media, at least their own version anyway.
This place almost reminds you of home, the technology, the memes, the pollution is better here, oh and one major difference, everyone is Just. Built. Different. Like supermodel hot in some cases and hob goblin in others, with historically inaccurate clothing choices sometimes. Like the poseidon here, why is his chest just Out? You felt scandalized at first when you saw him but got over it since he was ruder than he was hot.
Epic Poseidon was beautiful and regal and he was- semi modest? You don't remember. At least he wasn't flashing the world, he had some shame. No shaming this poseidon here, maybe for also being neglectful and a rude jerk, but dress how you want king, just give me a warning next time. Some of us are still going to react like Victorian ladies ok?
As you slowly approach your little campsite full of fat, round, fluffy and well-cared-for sheep flock, you begin singing a tune. A familiar tune that the sheep remember belong to you alone. Safety. Rest. Peace.
They clump together in groups and begin snoozing as your song becomes nothing more than a mellow hum in their cottony ears. The lamb you're leading begins trotting sluggishly, letting out sleepy baaa’s until he trips over his twin and the trio of Dolly, Parton and Lil Bean begin snoozing comfortably on the ground.
You carefully untie the lead from the Parton’s collar and make your way to the center and make yourself comfy on a flat rock and bob your head to the melody with a small chiming of your bell collar.
Ching. Ching. Ching.
You continue humming and keep your voice steady as you receive a System notification.

You almost choke on your voice and nearly startle the others awake, which wouldn’t be good, cause apparently another god is here?! What are they doing here? Aren't gods supposed to be territorial or something? That was the whole premise of Epic: don’t cross the gods and their domains!
And god of mischief? Isn’t that from a completely different religion? Why is there a god from a different region in Greece? Are you even in Greece anymore? Stupid world shift. Ok, let's locate the god and hide far away, the sheep should be fine, if not, you’ll fight for them, godly being be damned.
You can blow some Forgetful Mist into their face (Wait. Would that even work on them?), and if things go south, you can teleport the sheep to the cave and abandon this world. That is, if Neru has fixed the problem with the System yet, they said as long as the world isn't a Corrupted World, your leave should be easy.
You can't deal with a corrupted world right now!
Your inner panic is interrupted as some of the sheep begin stirring, and you quickly continue your song. You're looking for anything out of the ordinary. OK, so this god is the god of mischief? From the Norse religion. So the guy must be Loki. ok what do you know about him? You think as you move around clumps of sleeping sheep, looking here and there for anything humanoid.
Marvel made him dark-haired, dressed in green, and pale like a fairy, right? Wait, did they? Or was that one of the worlds you visited? You put in a System Search request and make your voice louder so that things stay asleep.
Is he gonna appear like that or maybe something traditional like Epic Poseidon, dressed in a chiton from Greece? Will he be dressed up as a Viking in cold-weather clothes? Hmmm. You think as you slowly make rounds around the edge of your campsite, singing ever melodic and prominent.
Can this god shapeshift? Myths said he did so, is he disguised as one of your sheep? You begin taking extra careful glances of your sheep as your System finally grants you access to the Research menu.
Why would he, though? gods only ever hid if they were in... trouble! Oh gosh, did this guy make someone mad and was hiding here?! Will they follow him here?!
You stumble on a root, causing you to click something on your System screen, eating dirt, and momentarily ceasing your singing. You quickly get back to it, but that small slip-up and noise woke up something previously happily sleeping, now rudely awoken. Now searching for who interrupted their actual real sleep in a millennium.
Ah biscuits.
“Hmmm, now who would dare interrupt a god's sleep? Come out, whoever you are, and I just might be merciful... Or not~ that was a pretty good sleep after all..” a male voice speaks, and you immediately freeze. Oh snap, Time to flee- Hey! What are you doing to my sheep!
Suddenly, he grabs one of the now awake, confused and bleary-eyed sheep and shakes them around causing it to cry out. “What a funny looking sheep you are. Did you interrupt my sleep?” The poor lamb, Junior officer Woolly, the young calf to Lieutenant Chops, cries out for its parents, who cry out but to him also, but keep a distance from the stranger.
Why is this guy’s hair green?! And he’s in modern clothing too. What is up with these guys and shirt cutouts in their clothes! Don’t they get cold- oh wait yea, they don’t care. Still, this guy is a jerk! Why is he shaking a poor baby? Godly be darned, you are gonna kill him…
“Hmm and where did that lovely music go too, I wasn’t aware that one of apollo’s nymphs was here” he puts down the now shaken lamb as it scurries away on shaky legs and you watch with an aching heart as it stumbles and cries towards the pile of scared sheep now in the middle of the clearing bleating out for their currently missing protector, You.
“No wait, this is Poseidon's territory... so they must be hiding. Oh, how fun! A game of hide and seek, and my prize could be some nice sleep, heehee~” He snaps towards your campsite and vanishes with smoke, now on the rock platform you were perched on before. The sheep became terrified again and began to move towards the edge of the clearing, some making their way near you seeking comfort.
"Woolly! poor baby, cmon over here, I got you now, I'll get rid of the bad man for you like how Antonius planned for Telebob. I'll make him into fertilizer for my gardenias." You mutter to the sheep currently shaking in your arms.
“I swear I heard the singing come from here.” He approaches the path you took to get Parton back to the flock. “Hmm no footprints, only dumb sheep prints- hang on.” He crouches down to the ground.
“A second set of footprints, how small they are. Huff, and here I thought I had a pretty nymph singing me to sleep, at least the child could still be a musician in my court.” Say what now? During your panic of whatever the heck the man meant, he turns into a snake and begins sniffing around on the ground where you previously were.
Oh, okay, so this world has shapeshifters who kidnap people just minding their own business? That is completely Greek mythos, please stop.
The sheep are getting noisy, calling out and crying. It is not safe here. I have to get him away from the sheep. You have finally decided on how you are going to kill this man; screw divine idiots, he crossed a line by harming the lambs. If you do manage to kill him, Neru can probably type it off as self-defense (probably).
"Wait, can gods die here? Neru, can we try that out?"

Mheee- Dude. Let go of me! You are snatched out of your hiding spot by your sheep ankles and then proceed to be held by your cloak. It would have choked you if not for the fact that you have enough fluff there. Your not-a-beard, beard saved the day! (You're just floofy :) )
"Huff, all that work for a weird-looking sheep with a cloak... how disappointing. Is it the caretaker for the flock? Where is the owner?" He glances around, noting the lack of anything with cognitive thought, especially the sheep he is holding; its head is just empty.
This is getting tiring. Next world, you're choosing a tall character to step on people. All right,(non-existent) Mods, let's ban this guy.
As you begin charging your equipped ‧₊˚✧[Mini Banhammer]✧˚₊ from your Inventory and plan to smack this guy dead, the roar of waves distracts both of you.
"What do you think you are doing in my territory and touching what's mine." Ruh roh raggy. I'm going to be made into lamb chops at this rate.
A man emerges from the nearby river, riding against the current, and jumps down from the wave he used as his ride. He stands tall and poised, with a golden trident glimmering in his hands.
"Ah, poseidon! Nothing to concern you, just grabbing something that wandered into your territory. I'll be quick and remove it soon," he turns around to face the newly arrived Jerk. This nymph is starting to not be worth the effort, now that poseidon has found me in his territory, I'll get an earful from Father, maybe I can pin this on Thor..
Water Jerk? What are you doing here? Did something happen to Poli? You worry as your struggling loses focus as the god no longer shakes and inspects you.
"You are in my territory. The sheep you have been disturbing are my son's. So that ugly Lamb in your grasp is mine. Now get out before I flush you out." he glares at the man currently holding you and reaches out a hand-

To keep your big and small friends fed, a farm for growing giant crops was set up after grabbing some seeds from your inventory to grow. It's tucked away deeper inside the mountain you call home but the roof of the makeshift room caved in years ago and now has access to the sun up above. At night you all crawl into the cave home and he places a large boulder to block the entrance, he gets a soft bedding stolen from another giant's home, the sheep surround him to sleep and you get a cool loft on a shelf of the cave. No windows, and a major safety hazard since it's so high up, but it's free, so it's better than most New York apartments. Besides, half of those problems you can easily combat. You can fly and have access to the System for furniture, so your living life, scary dog privilege, and a hole in the wall home, what more could a little lamb ask for?
He's been really diligent in caring for you and the flock ever since you found all the scattered sheep, that it has started to become overbearing; this man really needs more hobbies. So, you
taught him how to use a pan flute to give him something else to do besides bother you. You carved it from some giant bamboo you magically found somewhere on the island, thank goodness for System, you would've been a goner with all this island living if you didn't have a tutorial option.
One day, while you were installing a stairway to your shelf loft home, a massive storm rocks the island, you fall off your little ledge and can hear worried baaah’s coming from your fluffy friends as your vision goes black, a death screen pops up.

You shouldn't have taught System sass and passive aggressiveness, you are good friends, but that isn't very comforting, if you were on your first life you would've broken down. At least you put away your items for this world in a barrel somewhere in your loft home. You click 'Continue' and respawn back in the cave where you fell off, and look around. You notice a texture change; why does this look so funny, with so many lines and shadows? The heck happened when you fell? Did you accidentally change the settings or something? You can't seem to find what went wrong in the settings so you go to check on your friends.
Everything looks different, but hey at least your buddies are ok. They seem pretty content with your work on the stairway, it was for them after all, so you wouldn't have to keep lifting them up and down when they wanted to rest with you. It also has a slide when going down!
You and the sheep still look chubby and cute so that's good, but now your cyclops friend looks funny, what in the thirst trap?! He got pecs and muscles now, which is odd since he definitely isn't working out; he just looms over the sheep while you go either hunting or off-world to your normal life outside of System, at least you wrangled him into a makeshift shirt cover cause you ain't chilling around a half-naked man, especially now that he's buff. You might've even hissed at him at one point to get the idea across. Life continues as it did before with slight differences, but nothing substantial in your regard.
Until your friend gets a visit from daddy dearest do you realize what happened. Which leads you to your current predicament. A stare off with a random hottie who can't stop staring at you, or better wording would be glaring at you.
He approaches you and grabs you by your fluffy scruff and dangles you around, your bell tingling as you move, causing you to drop the wood you were lugging on your back.
Screw you dude, you just came out of the water and started having beef with a random sheep. What's your problem!?
“You walked on two-legs, and I'm sure you talked. What are you..”

You let out a bleating cry as you struggle being held in the air. Stupid jerk! Just let go of me! I'm just a weird support animal for a blind cyclops, nothing… You swing to the left, no dice.
Of interest here.. You veer to the right, DUDE JUST LET GO! You swing your body trying to get free, the final swing earns you getting snatched by a giant hand.
“Sorry for the rudeness Father, but Lamby was in distress, and they are more fragile compared to us.” He pets you as you fix your cloak wrapped around your shoulders, it got ruffled in the struggle and wha- a tear! That jerk ripped your cloak! Your grumbles come out as an annoyed mhee causing the cyclops to pet your head more.
The god of the sea looks at you in the hands of his son, what an odd creature. As a being of higher status he can usually read lesser creatures' minds if they are under his domain, and normal animals have instincts that usually occupy their small brains, but this creature has no thoughts inside its head that he can read but still functions somehow. Did Zeus get bored again and make another messed up creature that escaped? as if humans weren't enough of an abomination.
“Whatever that thing is, it isn't a Lamb. I will get rid of it for you-”
“No! Apologies for interrupting again Father, but Lamby is Lamby, even if they are a bit odd they are very precious to me I wouldn't dare get rid of them.”

Listening to the world, you realize musicals affect the world differently. Everything has a tune, the waves have a steady rhythm, the birds sing like a choir, communicating food, danger and directions. The ground has a slight hum, everything is singing in place of talking normally, you can't imagine what singing sounds like if the default is breaking out in song cause you stubbed your toe.
Following the loudest and most charming rhythm, it ends up being a fleet of boats. You realize that this is the one written by mister jalapeño, no wonder why the boat was so loud, the rest are background noise compared to the main symphony of the odyssey, Odysseus’ crew!
Ooohhh guess you'll stick around for the wonderful music, maybe you can try some holy moly, drug dealer grandpa, where are youuu??
You follow Odysseus on his journey back home, finishing your works in this world due to its inspiring atmosphere, must be because of the music intertwined into its very being. You float about the crew and even meet some gods, but they don't notice you since you're on a higher level as an Outsider. Shame you haven't been able to snatch some holy moly, Hermes only had enough for one great, great, smth, grandchild, and the gramps had favorites apparently >:( almost got noticed checking the man for more, so no magical drugs for you.

You followed the crew throughout their journey, dipping occasionally not wanting to see particular scenes. You grew to adore some of the characters, but had to keep an emotional distance, nothing good comes from becoming too attached in a foreign world, especially if you know that some of these characters are only heard from once then dip into oblivion, and that all of them die except one. It felt like watching an animal grow and die, and not being able to do anything because it was for an experiment. At least you know where some of them are, the underworld, Olympus, and for the few stragglers, with your trusty system map, it can locate anyone!
See Odysseus? No need to tell me your name, address and social security number, I knew them already ;) maybe that could've helped you get home before you pissed off the fish man.
You were so close too, just a simple whisper in his ear, mimicking the voice of his beloved Penelope telling him to shut up and board the boat, no time to attempt to be edgy just go! But then you remembered, No major canon divergence, if interference is not permitted at the start of the save, you can't do anything or it would be against the rules and could earn you a strike.
Ughhhh why did you forget to set that as a default? How many more times will you have to abandon a save cause you can't interfere before you stop procrastinating and get it over with! It's just two minutes of reading a waiver and a flick of a switch!
Well you didn't, now, not bothering with two minutes of reading has costed you several saves and hours of crying over not being able to save your pookie the first time. So you stand back and watch Odysseus start his long Odyssey by leaking his personal info. You dumb blorbo >:(

You had no impact throughout the odyssey and felt kinda guilty, but not enough to make a new save and help, you are here to relax from the world, not feel terrible about being less helpful than a sneeze. (Even that had a purpose! Expelling a foreign body while making others nearby feel gross and sick)
You depart from Ithaca and fly about the world for perhaps the last time, the plot has finished so interference is now enabled but you feel no need to stay. So you fly and fly, zipping through the clouds, smacking some unsuspecting creature and stealing their stuff while they turned to see what had accosted them.

You are still in the musical after all, so it must be the home of the Cyclops species! One of them appeared in Act 1 you believe. Huh, what did they look like again? You were too busy bemoaning your past laziness and mutely yelling at the stupid edgy attempting captain to get a good look at the one eyed creature he injured, er- I guess now a no eyed creature?
Poor thing, you kinda wonder how it's doing, you too would've thrown hands if someone harmed your beloved animal companion, perhaps not murder an army, but that's only because you can't hide a body convincingly.
You contemplate whether you should satiate your curiosity now that your going to leave the world. Your choice is answered when you hear a sobbing wail
and witness a blind cyclops weeping next to a crudely made grave and feel a bit of pity. He looks worse for wear, you recall that back then people would abandon weaklings to fend for themselves, and given how this guy has been permanently blinded, no wonder he looks so thin and raggedy. You wonder how he managed to survive for so long, even his poor sheep are all gone. How unfortunate..
“Who goes there?” The giant changes from crying to defensive as he reaches for his club. Uh oh how did he sense you? You look around and see a winion scurrying away. Oh so that must've been the one to alert him, welp might as well indulge a savior complex.
“It's me! Your beloved sheep friend, don't you recognize me?” You call out with a sweet voice at a distance you deemed out of his reach.
“Lamby? Are you a ghost? Why only now do you appear to me.”
He reaches forward and snatches you out of the bushes before you realize you're doomed.
“No no, I'm not a ghost, you're holding me now aren't you?” Even though I wish you weren't, now I'm covered in dirt. Does bro even wash his hands?
“You feel different Lamby, less round, less fluffy too and your limbs are weird now.” ok so Lamby is your name now. Well Cerberus is supposed to mean spot right?
He grasps your new form, a sheep on two legs with chubby fingers. Fluffy tufts of wool on your head for hair and a round, Fluffy body composed of softness with a wool texture akin to clouds.
Huh, that's how he survived, he has good hearing and he's quick. OK, we can totally do this. Just help this guy not die for a bit and then slip away when he doesn't notice. What's the worst that could happen?
“Where are the others? Did they leave you?” You fidget restlessly hoping to wiggle out of his hold.
“No, the others took them from me because I couldn't care for them properly. I only have my club and the grave I made for you.” He mourns as he pats your fluffy body after placing you on the ground since you kept struggling.

You scroll through the other obtainable items and quickly accept the quest. That's it you're gonna get them back. You have to do at least something or this save was even more of a waste.
“Don't worry friend, I'll get them back! To repay you for always caring for us, I will now care for you with my little hands- I mean hooves” You go to walk away but the giant blocks your path with his hand.
“Please do not leave, there is no point in getting them back, they are with Malcolm now. So they are better off elsewhere. If you do manage to get them back, who will care for them?”
“ I will! I'll be your eyes! To repay you for caring for us, it's now my turn”
So against better judgment (was it really tho? You've loved worse people.) You decide to befriend the blind outcast and transform into a fluffy sheep friend to comfort him and maybe eventually fake your death and leave permanently.
But uh, he didn't let you. He always followed you around, worrying every time he couldn't find you near him. You quickly worked on getting the other sheep back to get his attention off you, but that majorly backfired since you were stuck as the main caregiver!

The list goes on and on! You were so close to just giving up if it weren't for the ridiculously cute sheep following you around, even when it was annoying, but one look into their eyes and you folded.
You guard the sheep from predators as a small little shepherd when they wander into a crowded underbrush where the giant can't reach. It's very simple really, you baaa and the sheep listen, they understand you and you sometimes understand them.
The giant has other means of helping you, you regularly guide him to do tasks too big for you, and the giant kinda grew on you, he does his best given his circumstances, he had heightened senses so he was the first one notifying you when a sheep got too far for him to reach. The other inhabitants may have thrown him away like trash, but you collected like the trash goblin you are, recycling people!
This proves you can totally chill as a sheep companion, you placed a bell on all the sheep so the giant can hear them and won't accidentally make one go squish and you even got yourself a cloak thanks to the System to differentiate yourself texture wise from the other sheep. Besides your ridiculously soft wool and the fact you stand on two legs with very cute eyes, you look just like the rest of the sheep.
You've taken to a habit of announcing where you're going so the flock doesn't follow you or panic, they seem to understand you and it's worked out well. The giant almost stomped on you once when he was rushing to your location. Apparently, another giant was bragging that he found a wonderful sheep with the softest wool. He couldn't see what the sheep looked like and couldn't seem to find you so he panicked. He wouldn't let go of you for a few days after that, being carried was nice but nevertheless annoying in that situation, so you save yourself the trouble and tell them where you're heading.
You convinced him to move to a more secluded cave far from others to mainly keep yourself hidden, you don't have any more plans for people to shake the ground frantically looking for you whenever you go off to do something simple. One giant cyclops following you around is already difficult as is. Archons forbid the rest of the island finds out about you. Euuuggh

They too have no business in an abandoned building, but the pretty maid sketching on expensive paper has less so. “Might I ask why a maid like you is doing up here, this place is restricted from the lower class.” You don't turn around, too busy bopping your head and murmuring parts of the song with Systems's built in music player, the current playlist that got you jamming is a recommended one from their personal playlist, who would've thunk that System(that robotic system) would listen to such good, normal music, maybe you might try the elvish music they recommend next- “you know it's quite rude to ignore someone of higher standing-” “Huh?” The shoulder he just grabbed isn't in his grasp anymore, neither is the person, infact, it appears as if no one was here at all!
The wasted paper on the ground is gone, the high quality tea set is no longer precariously propped on the opposite side of the window ledge, and the girl is gone. Not a hair or shadow left, was it all an illusion? But that face, he hasn't been able to see people's faces and the girls face was so striking, he's certain he has never seen one like it to even consider he imagined it. “Could it be a ghost?” He actually considers it before laughing it off. “How silly, perhaps I need proper rest this time.” He takes his lantern and walks back down the stairs and out of the building, glancing back as if expecting something to appear, nothing of the like happens. He gazes at the window he first saw the girl from, he can clearly picture a faint silhouette, he swore he didn't imagine was there. But all that he gazes upon is the moon in all its beauty. He treks back to his quarters, which are quite a distance away, and can't help unknowingly humming a faint tune, was it the same one you were singing? Perhaps, but he doesn't know that yet, maybe when you meet again?
Onto you, you have no idea why you suddenly disconnected from your World, even your music crashed, and that's part of the System itself! You go to initiate a System Diagnostic, but get distracted with the sudden memory. “My sketch! Please oh please tell me it saved, Systemmm!” You whine as you move the diagnostics check down the line and instead push a prompt to recover your last save on your sketchpad. You are unaware of what really happened there, and are more worried about your work, you gotta submit that tomorrow!
He finds you again and again, always late at night, always sketching away the prettiest landscape you can find, but every time he tries to approach you, to catch you in his hands, you always disappear before his eyes. He would think he's dreaming if it weren't for the warmth under his hand and the fact that he. Can. See. Your. Face. He knows your real, others may not be able to perceive you and you somehow always manage to get away when he gets too close to you, but he will find a way to talk to his pretty moon fairy who disapears at the slightest breath. He will find a way to get to you.
Imagine his surprised delight when he sees you in the daylight, dressed up as a maid and hauling laundry for another lady in waiting. He must grasp this chance, those sleepless nights where he walks and walks until he finds you, fruitlessly attempt to trap you, fail and then have the best sleep of his life feeling absolutely rejuvenated the next day sparked with incredibly inspiration. He learned to memorize the beautiful face of the woman only who he can see. So when he feels warmth, and you don't disappear this time, that he even hears a small yelp from you and frightened shrieks from the other maids, he isn't dreaming. You are real, as the other maids are looking at him and their friend he has in his grasp. As you stare at him confused but no less pale and frightened. Do you not recognize him? Ah, after all the encounters of him staring at you, you never once looked up from your book to deign him a glance, every time he brings attention to himself you disappear like a shadow. But he feels the pulse and the slight bruise forming under his grip, because you’re real and he can touch you, feel you and you can't dissapear into thin air now that he holds you. His moon fairy that he's sure rivals the one proclaimed by the late Emperor himself (a 7 at best in his calculations)
This time he won't let you get away again. “What's a perfect number like you doing here serving in the inner palace? although that does make it easier for me to whisk you away if no one realizes your beauty” He murmurs under his breath and even though you are right beside him, so very very close, your head is too noisy panicking that you about to be persephone 2.0, Asia edition.

You look nothing like jinshi so how in the heck?!?! wait- System, check: Disguise! Who in the duck is that pretty lady in the mirror? Actually there won't be any need, how about you just follow me and we can discuss properly somewhere more private.” Never ever go to a secondary location with a person you don't know, and here in ancient times? There are worse fates for a lady like you. “Uh unfortunately I cannot tend to you as of right now since I am currently running an errand for Lady-” “For the head lady in waiting for concubine Loulan, yes, I am aware.” He huffs taking in a certain smell he has come to associate with you. You smell like cooked sugar, something a maid of your status would have no access to, you are unfavored by no concubines to treat you to such things, so just where could you have gotten them? He has searched the kitchens before to check for missing luxuries, but all he really found was a small cat and two servants doing something unsavory behind closed doors. So that leads him to the conclusion that you carry those items yourself, a secret lady of high standing perhaps? He couldn't find anything without a name, but now… “but I have already requested your presence so ensure that you return here after that task is done, I wouldn't want to have to search for you again now would you?” his smile is boyish and charming, but it's incredibly menacing for a girl who fears almost mimicking a Greek tragedy.
With that he steps away from your personal space but doesn't leave, while your maid friends help you gather your things and speedily exit. Nuh uh. I don't wanna go with you glasses weirdo, I'll just avoid him, I can do that right? Whats he gonna do? Snatch me away? I'll just stay in a crowd.
He stands there staring from behind his sleeves. I'll just follow them at a distance, can't lose the fairy now that I've finally found them.
As one can guess. Things go horribly wrong and you do get eventually snatched and taken as you believed you were perfectly safe with System watching your back. But you forget one important thing, your chronic Lag which seems to always flare at the worst times. You would've escaped sooner but it seems your horrible lag infected System too, as they can't seem to retrieve you at the moment and I have no idea how to bridge this so uh-

“Take one more step or else I will spontaneously combust into glitter- don't- DON'T TEST ME NOW, I WILL” You yell as you take a step closer to the lakes edge. You scream louder as guards attempt to approach but he waves a hand to stand outside still. This is between him and his beloved. “Oh come now dear, no need for the dramatics-” he attempts to approach you and grab your arm “I ain't dramatic, I'm problematic!” with that System finally finishes loading and you dissapear from sight, leaving your outfit you didn't even like and don't want in your inventory, to be left behind, but not before the glitter you wanted to throw into Lahan's eyes blow out of your hands, adding extra effect to your emotional exit. “huh, she actually did turn into moon dust..” Lahan states as he stares at an empty evening gown floating down into the lake water, an empty sky without its moon to shine above him leaving the sky blank ,the only light being the sparkles that came from you body. His moon is gone and now the sky is just empty.
That leaves our poor player very confused and disoriented and scared of her world, will she return or will Lahan find her? Idk I have no ideas anymore on how to continue this so I release this into the world like that Eminem meme.

Idk what I'm doing gng. I wrote this during my parents meeting at church and RIGHT next to my aunt so um. Thought I should make it clearer that, no the system did not change your body to be a pale beauty, you are just as pretty as you are! What I meant to convey is that your current beauty, no matter its flaws, was considered beautiful to those in the world (if you triggered system romance flags). For instance, if the world firstly considered blonde hair and blue eyes, when you indulge in the world, they make it so that your current look is what is now the new one! (lets go pink hair with white streaks ombre/ref)
Originally I wanted to make this as a purposeful mary sue!reader, where everything goes their way with help from system, something happens where the system beauty effects that made them attractive disappeared and was now a nobody. Without that, no one recognized them and they became a background character, except for lahan who still saw them beautiful since they still saw their original beauty despite the filters anyway (hes built different said my notes idk why anymore)

The person you came here for finishes gathering his things, and finally spots you standing in front of the teacher.

I'm getting bored.” The girl leaves, and people seem to regain function again, as if a spotlight shone and people let her have the stage.* People begin filing out, once again getting over the sudden starstruckness that the girl gave them. Some even gather the courage to try to talk to her. She seems willing to engage for a while.
A girl asks her about her plans for the summer, a boy tries to flirt but sputters when she turns to him and gives a raised brow daring him to finish his cheesy pun…
Students whisper outside as you have taken a seat at a nearby bench and are happily chatting with girls about the latest Media star*. However, you get a phone call and go away to take it in the corner. She's arguing with someone before she ends the call; her mood has gone down.
“- and I got the two thousand dollars and all I need is the final A. Your B-minus. Poof. Dream gone. Kaput.” He emphasizes by hitting his hands against the table.
“Sam? I'll be back for the items later since I just got an important call, you wouldn't mind if I come by the house to pick it up would you?” A head peeks by the doorway that gathers the attention of the teacher but not the student, wholly intent on bumping his grade up. He just casually waves her off with a “Yeah yeah go ahead” before going back to arguing.
The girl leaves as her phone rings again and she leaves in an annoyed huff, leaving a trail of hanging people.
“Who's that hottie?” the jocks question. “Wait! I recognize the name.” A cheerleader buts in. “She’s that young graduate who teachers keep bragging about.” “The one who earned that high paying internship at the Gould's company?” “yeah! Heard she caused a fight in the sports club with both teams and won in a group match solo!” “Did you see her clothes and hair, ugh how nice she was too! I heard she has muscles because she does rock climbing and skating.” A girl almost drools.
A boy rushes out of the building, bypassing the cluster of students who watched you leave not so long ago, as he flails around a paper shouting joyfully “Yes! Yes, yes.”
Eyes can't help but glance back at the boy they were all laughing at earlier, how does the school legend, the one who put their school on the map for extracurricular clubs (and got in trouble for a 9-person brawl, which you totally won btw!), associate with him of all people?

An assembled group of people chatter amongst themselves while waiting for a briefing.
A man enters the room and people quickly focus. That man is John Keller! Secretary of Defense, this doesn't look good.
Keller addresses the room, “Please be seated. I'm John Keller. Obviously, you're wondering why you're here, so, these are the facts.”
He points at the information coming up on screen, “At 1900 local time yesterday, the SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar was attacked. So far as we know, there were no survivors. The objective of the attack was to hack our military network. We're not sure exactly what they're after, but we do know that they were cut off during the assault, which would lead us to assume that they're going to try it again. Now, no one's taken responsibility for the attack. And the only real lead we have, so far, is this sound.”
The recording plays an indecipherable electronic sound that grates on some ears. Wait- is that someone wearing an RGB flashing headset? How is no one noticing this?!
The man continues talking, “That's the signal that hacked our network. NSA's working at full capacity to analyze it and intercept further communications but we need your help to find out who did this.”
He gestures to the people gathered in the room, “Now, you've all shown considerable ability in the area of signal analysis. We're on a hair-trigger here, people. The President has dispatched battle groups to the Persian Gulf and the Yellow Sea. This is as real as it's ever gonna get.”
Addressing the staff and waving in his own assistants, he dismisses the group, “Now I'm gonna leave you to your officer-in-charge. You'll break up into teams, and you'll start your work. Good luck. To us all.” He dismisses them and leaves with his assistants.
“Agent Eve, you're with me.” “Yes, sir.” a muffled voice responds, discreetly taking off their headset and following after him. Some agents watch them move, dressed in clothes not belonging in such a setting for being far too casual, with shades and a weird bird (?) mask.
Wait. Agent Eve? This. is their top information agent?

A group of analysts discuss the breach and who could have done it, names get tossed around, accusations and arguments being said. Across the base, a staff member gets tasked with fetching a snack for the president of the US. She enters storage to encounter a weird amalgamation of metal that is unfamiliar and frightening and calls out for help.
Someone rushes in to aid the panicked person and attacks the robot machine, disconnecting it from the servers momentarily. Annoyed the creature turns its attention to its attacker. It begins biting and clawing at its victim. The human barely manages to dodge before it misteps and gets their helmet glass cracked,
The Decepticon gazes into a pair of unrelenting eyes that burn into him with recognition, that have been studying him since they faced off and don't seem to mind the broken glass panel in their helmet. Other military forces are beginning to surround the fight with things that could restrain normal animals, but this is a metal robot from space, hardened with years of war.
How stubborn these fleshbags are, you think a mere box can imprison a Decepticon? How stupid. It then proceeds to launch off them with a powerful kick, sending the human flying out the door and into other staff rushing into the room. The bot disconnects from the server after having accomplished its task and takes a look at the chaos it started and notes the figure they attacked, still alive and attempting to stand. Hmph, pathetic flesh bag.
It begins growling out in its own language “Found a clue to the All Spark.” it chitters “Witwicky man - he has seen our language. Witwicky, Witwicky" it begins searching on the internet for anything related to Witwicky, it comes upon an ebay page selling a pair of antiques glasses that hold more value than just being silly old antiques “We must find LadiesMan217. Go, go, go.” it slithers away and presumably, off the ship.

Damn it, I didn’t get to stop the decepticons from hacking into the web, now they’ll be heading to the Witwicky’s house, I need a chance to slip away so I can be there. You barely manage to stand up and clutch your head.
I also now have a killer headache too, dang headbutt quest… You begin walking towards the control room, arm still bleeding, people begin noticing the group of military doctors trailing after you trying to get you to stop, and you absentmindedly note the bloody trail underneath the group.
You barge into the command room and head to your superior only in name, “ I need some rest commander, can I ask for temporary leave?” You stare at John Keller and he stares at your bloodied arm and asks “what happened agent? Your arm is...”
“Damaged, but not impossible to fix. The reason right now is that I request temporary leave. I sustained an injury attacking the intruder in the server room and obtained this as a consequence. So, I request temporary leave.” Bro, just release me from my service for now, I can’t teleport out if you don’t, so just give me some confirmation and I’ll be on my way. I’ll come back. I still have quests to fulfill here, and a government binding contract but who cares.
“The intruder did all that? Must have been a bad fight.” “no sir I unfortunately lost quickly, the creature smashed my helmet, broke my arm and threw me through the door, apologies, I can also type up a full report about the metallic creature before I leave-” A medic butts in, citing the severe injures you sustained and asks the Secretary to get them to lie down since they refuse too without consulting him first. “O-oh, agent you are temporarily dismissed effective immediately after medical attention, you may resume duty at a later date.’ he commands
Bowing respectfully you accept the outcome, “ I will ensure to send in a full report about what I know about the creature before I leave, and send forth a temporary replacement for me. thank you sir for- wha, hey!” you get whisked away quickly by medical officers who drag you to the med bay. Apologizing to the cleaners about the bloody mess you left as you pass them. You ponder about your next move, get the glasses, get the Witwicky’s out of the home temporarily to avoid Sector Seven….. Oh and the decepticons too, hmm Sam should have met Blackout and Frenzy after discovering Bumblebee right? Or was that after something else… you can’t seem to remember anymore, must be the head trauma then. Hmmm so sleepy…

Mafioso was busy with his work and you were busy with yours. yet, even despite your busy schedule, you still made time for him. he never did such with you.
that was the cause of your fight just now.
Mafioso struggled to catch a debtor that day, and you nagging him to spare more time? it caused him to reach a boiling point.
all you asked for was some more time or anything, yet it seemed to stress him out more. this domino chain effect eventually lead to your break up.
you didn't feel like dwelling on it further but you still remembered how he told you how he was tired of you nagging him all the time and asking for things he just cant give you.

your thoughts were interrupted by your alarm as you checked the time.
7:25 am.
you could make it to work on time if you get ready before the bus arrives. you had to commute now because you couldn't bother driving the car Mafioso had given you.
you didn't want to associate yourself with him anymore.
but Mafioso couldn't bear the thought of losing you over something so petty. he made his men watch your every move, planning.
one day, his men came back with news.
you were dead.
you were caught in the crossfire between them and a sour debtor's family. you weren't supposed to know them at all. if his men hadn't followed you, you wouldn't have gotten hurt.
"explain to me how she died. i need to know ." Mafioso commanded his men, listening to every detail of your death with full attention.
"we were following her, as you ordered, and then one of your debtors came out of nowhere and held her hostage." Caporegime started, then going into full detail on how they tried to get you out of the situation but couldn't.
it ended with Caporegime saying they couldn't save you.
now here you were in the present, fighting for your life against ruthless killers every round for the rest of eternity. you hadn't known how long you were trapped here, or why even, you just know you have to survive.
after that round finished, you heard some of the other survivors say something about a new killer going by the name of Mafioso.
weird, you seemed to remember that name somehow.
when the round started, you felt like you were being watched but nobody was found. maybe the killer was keeping you in sight for his next kill.
well that wasn't the case.
he kept you in his sight, but never killed you, even during last man standing, he just stood and stared at you.
when the timer hit 0:00, you spawned back in the survivors’ cabin. the other survivors asked if you knew Mafioso, which you rejected.
“I never met him before, although he seems familiar.” you replied to their questions, only to be met with more by the rest.
for Mafioso, it was an entirely different story. he seemed to have kept his memories of your past life together, how you loved each other until it started coming apart.
he spared you because he couldn’t lay a finger on you. not after what he did to you. not after he neglected your love. not after he neglected your relationship with him. not after he neglected you.
when it was his turn to be killer again, he went to you first. not to kill you, but to talk to you.
“love, what are you doing here? I thought you died a long time ago." Mafioso asked, trying to hold your face but you moved away.
"I-I'm sorry, b-but I d-don't know you" you stammered, trying to slowly back away, only to be met with his men behind you.
now the both of you were trapped in this hell, and only one of you remembered how
now Mafioso was trapped in this hell with you, and you don't even remember him.
it's going to eat him alive slowly, watching you slip away from him.
