Help me get the writing juice flowing! Send in prompts that include the type of whump or hurt/comfort you'd like to see and the relationship dynamics between the main characters. Be as vague or specific as you please and I'll write a short (or not) one-shot.

This is hopefully gonna get me back in the game after long months of inactivity. I promised myself I'd give time to my favourite hobbies during this year. With that being said, I can't promise to deliver every prompt sent in, either because I really don't have the time to work on everything or the specific prompt just doesn't click.

Here's some examples of relationship dynamics I mentioned above:

Sidekick or team member whumpee with Leader or team caretaker.

Whumpee and caretaker who are, or used to be, on opposite sides. The severity of whumpee's injuries force both of them to lay past grievances aside.

Leader whumpee with team caretaker. Leader is an awful patient and team is wearing themselves out trying to just get Leader to rest.

Villain sidekick whumpee with Villain whumper. Our whumpee hasn't been very dutiful with his assignments lately.

Type of whump: physical or emotional and again, as specific or vague you want. Add in any of your favourite tropes, genres, whether you'd like me to name the characters, etc...

I've seen multiple awesome writers worried that people aren't going to like one of their series because it's "not real whump" or some similar sentiment, so I feel compelled to say this.

Some people prefer physical whump

Some people prefer emotional whump

Some people prefer psychological/mental whump

Some people like recovery arcs

Some people like fluff and comfort after the whump

Some people like whump that focuses more on angst

Some people like plot-heavy whump

Some people like worldbuilding-heavy whump

Also, the more niche a piece of writing is, the more happy the people who enjoy that niche will be to find something that fits it

Basically you can write whatever you want and there will be an audience somewhere who loves it.

Underrated Hostage Tropes

1) The “You’ll do” hostage Whumper has come to target one of Caretaker’s loved ones, but finds Whumpee instead. “Not who I was looking for, but you’ll do.”

2) The ‘grabbed in the heat of battle’ hostage When Whumper grabs Whumpee and holds them at weapon-point, a furious battle slams to a halt.

3) The unaware hostage Whumpee trying desperately to act normal and not give the game away, knowing that Whumper can hurt an unsuspecting Caretaker any time they choose.

4) The ‘maybe I don’t hate you’ hostage Whumpee and Caretaker have been at each other’s throats from the second they met, only for Caretaker to be unexpectedly panicked when Whumpee is threatened.

5) The self-sacrificial hostage Whumpee holds themself hostage, knowing they have information that Whumper can’t afford to lose.

Another favorite trope? Caretaker asking for proof of life and whumper making whumpee scream in response.

Wow, Wattpad really has gotten worse. I quit when they got rid of the forums, and now it's either paid stories or being bombarded with ads when you read free ones.

Also I feel like the community has died off lol. The top stories were pretty much the same from over three years ago.

Love me a whumpee who is absolutely unhinged towards whumper.

Whumpee who grins and laughs maniacally. Who moves in sudden bursts of energy, lunging at whumper out of the blue. A whumpee who will start throwing themself against the wall or floor just to spite whumper. Who will mess with other whumpees’ minds just to piss whumper off. Just zero sense of self-preservation, whumpee is ready to burn the place down with themself inside it if it means they can ruin Whumper’s day.

You create a magic system to exercise your creativity and build intricate worlds. I create a magic system to devise new ways to hurt my favourite character. We are not the same.

Character A, a misguided villain sidekick, realizes they are on the wrong side when character B, someone on the hero's team, is captured and tortured by Villain. A tries to aid B in any way possible, from alleviating pain to an unsuccessful escape attempt, resulting in turn in his own punishment and captivity.

All hope seems lost for B, until the hero's team finally shows up with a swift and methodical rescue plan. B's pleads to wait, go back, A tried to help, A is also suffering are shut down with a firm "there's no time", leaving A sole prisoner in the hands of a furious Villain.

I don’t see a lot of sibling whump. Or family whump in general. A lot of my whump daydreams revolve around a father/son or brothers.

Yes watching your whimper’s team/best friend/lover get hurt is beautiful.

But just imagine whumpee watching their child, someone who was just a baby that they held in their arms once. Whom they raised to be the best as possible, getting tortured in front of them because of what THEY did. The parent is forced to watch their child being burned and beaten. Whipped and sliced up while all they can do is beg and plead for it to stop.

OR IMAGINE

two siblings: the older one is the tougher, more outgoing and has more fight in them. The older sibling is snarky and hard to break. So the whumper finds their younger sibling. Younger by multiple years. And the whumper puts all their frustrations and anger out on younger whumpee, who doesn’t know what’s going on or why they’re going through this torture. But younger whumpee love their older sibling, and they look up to them. And older whumpee’a heart breaks as they watch their younger sibling slowly break apart. Slowly seeing the tears spring to their eyes as they try to stay strong. And older whumpee knows that their younger sibling is trying to stay strong and looks up to them. But older whumpee also knows they can’t do anything, and can only cry and beg for whumper to stop.

No matter the family dynamic, whumper knows the weakest point of their whumpee is to bring the family in. Because that’s what will fully break them.
