why #dontjudgeabookbyitscover is bullshit

Recently my twitter feed has been filled with teens, using sharpies to draw zits and eyeliner to draw unibrows to purposely try to look ugly. Then, with a wave of their hand in front of the camera they remove all the drawn-on facial imperfections and become “hot”. I use quotations around hot because that’s what these self-absorbed children would describe themselves as, although I would tend to disagree. 

The part I find most laughable about all this is the hashtag, #dontjudgeabookbyitscover. The entire purpose of the saying is ignore outward appearances, for what matters is not what you look like on your exterior, but rather what you hold inside yourself. And so I can’t help but laugh as these arrogant pricks think they’re doing anything to help self-esteem, while all that they’re really proving is that attractive people like mocking those who are not attractive. 

It’s just another way for these “attractive” teens to stroke their already massive egos, and I for one don’t think it’s healthy or helpful. It serves no purpose in aiding the detrimental effects of bullying and judgment based on ones physical appearance, and it perpetuates the idea that one must be attractive in order to have worth.

I've tried changing themes about five times and even put in a code for a new scroll bar and it still won't work. it appears for like two seconds when I load the page and then disappears and I can't load any more photos. someone please help I'm so frustrated :(
