Hereâs this entire video for you just in case you wanted to be reminded. Zero ounce of hesitation btw. âWhen did the shift happenâ RIGHT THERE right fucking there
I'm at work but here are my quick thoughts
Athletes are workers and they deserve a cut of the profits they generate for the organization.
If the money is not going to the players, it is going into the pockets of billionaire franchise owners.
Hockey is having a moment, the NHL is more profitable than ever, and Macklin Celebrini is the face of the next generation of players. I promise you he is generating far more revenue than he is being paid.
Not only is the cap going up, but players taking large contracts actually incentivizes the league to increase the cap more. The cap would not go up as much if everyone consistently took less than what they were worth.
Yes, we should want the cap to be going up. See point #2.
Yes, he is worth 18.8M AAV. Frankly, anything less than 20.8M (the max possible this year) should be considered team-friendly, because he could have asked for that and gotten it.
Crosby and McDavid both took first contracts that were a comparable percentage of the cap and then went on to take more team-friendly contracts when their teams actually entered cup contention.
The Sharks cap situation will be kind of dicey in 2-3 years but only in the sense that it'll be hard to build around our young core, not that we won't be able to retain our young core.
This is a league where players literally destroy their bodies and risk shortening their lifespans for the chance to play a few years. I don't know what price tag to even put on that.
will having a photo of them cellying saved in his camera roll for occasions such as this. how many has he got in there. just pics of him and mack. a mixture of official game photos and stupid ones of mack trying to fit a straw up his nose. selfie of them grinning up at the camera pressed shoulder to shoulder with vancouverâs most beautiful natural swimming hole behind them
will's response to mack's contract extension
that much money and will isn't playing in the same team as his bc guys, what a day for macklin celebrini
who wants to read into it with me :)
you sign a contact extension that makes you the highest paid player (by aav) in nhl HISTORY and and secures your place for the next 5 years on the team everyone knows you plan to lead to a cup (as the captain, mind you, thatâs coming next) but instead of staying home in vancouver with your family to celebrate or maybe even ruminate on how all of your hard work has gotten you to this place where everytime you move you push the needle for the league you decide to fly back to boston with your best friend who notably hasnât signed his contact extension yet but who you clearly want by your side through all of it. and you want everyone else to know that you want that. because isnât the point of all of this to win it all together :)
Sharks sign forward Macklin Celebrini to a five-year contract extension
San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has signed forward Macklin Celebrini to a five-year contract extension worth $18.8 million AAV.Â
im genuinely shook from that matty berniers interview. what do you. what do you mean. "he's got his stuff figured out"? we're talking about will smith hockey here?? mr. is never around women that aren't his mum, sister, or kk harvey??? who gets seen by fans every single day and is never around a girl? and to the insinuation of romance, matty says "he's got his stuff figured out"????
insinuation of relationship + never being around women + unnecessary vagueness on the topic + will smith hockey = homosexual
glad we can agree
i do find it funny when people characterize will as an angel who is nice to everyone when the best part of his character is that heâs extremely cliquey and kind of has a mean streak and can be very snippy and impatient and rude with a smile if he doesnât like you, making sure you know he doesnât like you, but always has that plausible deniability to say he wasnât being a dick even though everyone knows he was. thatâs what makes him interesting. the smoothing out of his edges just to make him the ultimate Nice, Patient, Popular Guy in rpf is one thing, but real will being more regina george is the best part. leno is karen
thinking always of will and zeev silently, joyfully meangirling out together after misa explains that the lining of his draft jacket is decorated with pictures of himself

biz: like i bet will's like fucking every blonde in sj right like is he fucking them tell me how many female women in your co-ed softball team has will smith fucked hundreds right
matty b: [war flashbacks to arriving in vancouver and will and mack running across the airport into each other's arms in slow motion]
matty b: nahh he's got that stuff figured out hahah
like realistically i dont think mack has it in him to be gay but i do think if there was a gay competition to be super gay he would put his heart body mind and soul into winning
will is gay for nothing
