def miss the era when everyone talked about books and literature and poetry way more on here… i still follow the same people but it seems less front and center now. I know we make fun of like the 2019 richard siken/mary oliver/wendy cope/‘tenderness’/web weaving era but i thought it was fun and good that the general vibe was like a poetry fandom lol! anyway i’m reading trip to echo spring by olivia laing right now which for a large part is about tennessee williams and it made me think of that quote that went ‘I am sitting at my kitchen table waiting for my lover to arrive with lettuce and tomatoes and rum and sherry wine and a big floury loaf of bread in the fading sunlight. Coffee is percolating gently, and my mood is mellow. I have been very happy lately, just wallowing in it selfishly, knowing it will not last very long, which is all the more reason to enjoy it now. I suppose life always ends badly for almost everybody. We must have long fingers and catch at whatever we can while it is passing near us.’ which is so… just reminded me of that era and the whole of my tumblr community being so into love and reading and poetry which i miss!!

more theon specific notes: most greyjoys are also first men, though a different ethnicity than mainland northerners. islander first men have darker complexions, straighter hair, and leaner builds compared to bulkier northerner builds. very few “native” iron islanders exist by nature of their culture—most are mixed or straight up andal but greyjoys have pretty strong first men blood.
