Me @ 6 weeks pregnant : I’m going to be so healthy!
Me @ 37 weeks pregnant: * finishes a king size Reese’s and downs a Cherry Coke *
I know it’s hard mama. I know it can be hard to get up every day and have these little people rely on you. I know it’s hard to sometimes feel like your world is so small. I want to remind you, you are the world. You are the world that those little ones revolve around. You are their nurture, their home, and their comfort. You are everything to them and I hope even on your worst days you know how special you are, especially to your little people.

39 days until due date! It’s likely my care team won’t let me go past that date due to my platelets being on the low side. I’m hoping he will come naturally so we can avoid induction.
That being said, this feels like the longest month in history. In the hopes of keeping myself busy, I’ve been experimenting with the Instant Pot I got a month ago, and I’m completely obsessed with it. Enjoying making things I wouldn’t necessarily feel confident doing on the stove, although I love traditional cooking. Last night’s dinner was a chicken stirfry with fresh ginger, garlic hoisin teriyaki, peppers, onions and broccoli over rice. Great success!
Got a huge Amazon order today with the accessories I need to get more adventurous with it, plus a desserts cookbook.
Tomorrow I should be getting several diamond paintings - if you aren’t familiar with what a diamond painting is, it’s basically paint-by-numbers with little gems you glue in corresponding numbered slots. It’s tedious, relaxing, and super addictive.

34 weeks/rambling
34 weeks today. Had a brief routine appointment, looks like we are officially going to have one appointment a week until baby is born, to check my platelets and make sure I don’t need an infusion before birth. It’s my one and only true complaint from this entire pregnancy. Gestational thrombocytopenia. It sounds scarier than it is, and hasn’t affected me at all yet. It’s a condition somewhere between 8-10% of pregnant women develop for no apparent reason. Otherwise I feel fantastic.
Made a Target run, found nothing we went for but tons of things we needed. (Of course, it’s Target!) Two Instant Pot cookbooks - I’m obsessed with my kitchen robot - and two mini bathroom organizational carts for $3.75 each. Neither will be used in the bathroom, one is for diaper change supplies and one is for my side of the bed for nursing supplies/snacks/whatever else.
I’m definitely in that stage of pregnancy where although overall I’m doing fabulous, the smallest things exhaust me. One hour in Target almost did me in. Came home, made some deviled eggs because why not, read my cookbooks, and managed not to fall asleep. Now it’s 1AM and I am wide awake! Oof.
From the 4D scan at 31 weeks, looking like daddy’s twin already.
Works in Progress
Hello! This is a work in progress, for my biggest work in progress yet. I have a lot of hopes and dreams for this baby. This blog will eventually cover the overall experience of growing a baby during COVID-19, my birth experience, product reviews, parenting, babyhood and beyond.
