Hi! I'm Shirel, tiiired coffee addict, lesbian/homosexual/attracted to women and females and vaginas, generally coolish, a fan of the old&janky barbie movies as well as Rocky Horror (you can imagine the kinda fucked I am), and on (rare) occasions I write.

I like women and I like posting about how much I like them.

The used to be a long paragraph here about why I didn't use the term lesbian to describe myself. I have since taken a lot of time off social media, took time to actually socialize with people and I realized I was still dealing with comp-het, as well as the guilt of not being attracted to pre-transition trans women.

To make a long(ish) story short, I can say now that I am a lesbian, that me being attracted to pre-transition trans men doesn't really take away from that, because when they start the transition process I stop being into them, and that the fact that I find male genitalia undesirable doesn't make me transphobic or a bad person, it's super normal and I shouldn't have to apologize for that.

Anyways, sorry for not posting as much. Shits been weird lately

Queerness is a journey

Your identity isn't always a fixed thing, and even when it is it can take so long to figure it out.

Even when you realize your queer, it can take so long to narrow the specifics.

And I don't think you have to, but I know how frustrating it can be when you're blindly guessing but just know you aren't right.

And it's especially hard when you're blinding yourself. When you are subconsciously (or even consciously) stopping yourself from seeing the whole picture because you aren't yet ready to face what it means.

I spent years telling myself I'm bisexual because I wasn't ready to let go of the idea that I could be with a man and live the life my culture wanted of me.

Many of my friends spent years telling themselves they're lesbians because they didn't want to "disappointed the community" or to be something so many say isn't real.

Identity is hard to narrow down, and even harder when there's social stigmas and standers around them. Don't feel bad if you haven't gotten it right yet. Don't feel bad if you figured it out later in life.

It's your journey, and even if you didn't "get it right" yet, you're still a member of this community. You aren't fake or a liar or whatever other intrusive thought comes to your head.

I know that she's scared. She's scared of how she looks at me, how she feels about me, how she wants me.

She's scared that I look and feel and want the same way.

She's scared of what's unknown to her, of what could be if she stepped into the darkness.

So she ran. She ran far away and begged of me not to follow. Told me not to come with her. To stay away from her.

She said it was only for now, until she mustered up the courage to walk in the dark.

I've danced this dance before.

She, like every other girl, won't step foot in the dark.

So I let her go, and I walk deeper into the pits of black. It's lonely, it always is, but it's beautiful.

I wish there was someone by my side to see it, but they're all scared.

Scared of what it'll show them. Scared of the beauty.

And maybe... scared of me.

Also sorry for being gone for so long 😭 I was busy with life and ✨️depression✨️ and stuff but things are better now!

To make a long story short...ish;

I "relapced" and tried calling my abusive ex-friend (luckily she didn't pick up) and I've just been a general state of longing for her that was always suuuper unhealthy but ever since the "breakup" it's been getting worse because next year we'll be studying in the same place, and I've been dreading it.

On top of that, I realised that I'm falling in live with my much healthier friend... who lives in a different country and who I'm pretty sure does not feel the same way.

Anyways I had a panic attack two days ago, then got a part in a community theatre play, and now it's today and I'm kind of a mess but I want to get back into posting :)

So... yee. Life.
