Let’s all live!
im not phrasing this well but i think a lot of positivity for people with personality disorders is unconsciously or not more concerned with making the point that you can love someone with a personality disorder DESPITE said personality disorder, and fails to consider that actually its also possible to actively like the stigmatised traits associated with personality disorders and enjoy the company of people with said traits and personality disorders ......the same way its entirely normal and unremarkable to like unstigmatised personality traits in people.
youre allowed to say that you like people who are funny, or intelligent, or this or that; and its generally accepted amongst autistic people to say that you specifically like the company of autistic people, but when i say that I specifically often like people who have npd then people balk.
its all "people with personality disorders arent inherent evil" until you say that you enjoy the company of people with personality disorders, and then everyone suddenly rushes to tell you how thats a bad idea actually because they might be evil. hmmmmmmm

top 3 hobbies for young adults:
1. borrowing misery from future
2. carrying grief of the past
3. agonizing over the present
Growing up is actually all about realizing people don’t inherently dislike you and it’s a bit odd to assume they do

fucking SLAY
this isnt even the full thread, there are even MORE tweets to this thread that i think are really necessary to read if you do what op is talking about! it is not enough to know that feeling this way hurts the people you love, we already know that.
this rest of the thread continues after the third tweet from the reblog.
like THE FULL THREAD is genuinely so reassuring.
sometimes, it is not enough to just know, sometimes you might need that reassurance of "do you really think of me when i'm away?" and someone reassuring you that yeah, they do. and evaluate that! trust that! just like op did.
and then learning that ykw, it's NOT any of my business really. and finding comfort in that trust that like. whether they are or aren't thinking of me, they really do love me.
this full thread changed my life and i am ALWAYS going to give the full thread because the parts people cut out aren't enough for the people experiencing these things, speaking as someone who does. it, really it just makes us, made me, feel bad about my own capabilities when i saw the unfinished thread.

The most basic, intractable fact about mental illnesses is that you simply cannot willpower your way out of them. The only exceptions to this rule are the ones I have, which continue to disable me due to lack of determination and other grave personal flaws
