Take a bite of salmon, avocado, and cucumber that are wrapped in nori seaweed and sushi rice.
Ingredients: 250g sushi rice. 300ml water. 4 nori seaweed sheets. 200g fresh salmon fillet, thinly sliced. 1 avocado, thinly sliced. 1 cucumber, julienned. 2 tbsp rice vinegar. 2 tbsp sugar. 1 tsp salt. Soy sauce, for serving. Pickled ginger, for serving. Wasabi, for serving.
Instructions: Rinse sushi rice under cold water until water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker. Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions. In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool. Transfer cooked rice to a large bowl. Gradually add the vinegar mixture to the rice, folding gently to combine. Allow rice to cool to room temperature. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a small border at the top edge. Arrange slices of salmon, avocado, and cucumber horizontally across the rice. Using the bamboo mat, tightly roll the sushi away from you, pressing gently to seal. Slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi.
