A CONTROVERSIAL TAKE
my confrontational take is that the most non-confrontational, made up ship within dc is alfred/the waynes. that shit is CANON, and everyone i’ve spoken to about it has been on board, despite the fact that we’ve never truly seen these people interact.
why ???? it’s canon
1. alfred, given all his lore™️, decides to willingly live in GOTHAM, and (wait for it) NEW JERSEY, instead of quite literally anywhere else for these people. i am from the uk and i have been to new jersey ONCE. the defining moment for me was that i had to tip 10% on a SELF-CHECKOUT machine. it broke me. it was a paradox. i haven’t returned since.
2. martha and thomas, rich ass people who probably revise their wills on a weekly basis, literally CONSTITUTE that alfred should be bruce’s legal guardian instead of like, idk… family? (understandable given bruce’s extended family but cmon)
3. alfred spends the rest of his life devoted to bruce, and raises that boy AS HIS OWN, despite the fact he literally has a child lol

the decision to make damian a doctor is genuinely an excellent idea bc at the end of the day a big part of his character is ultimately feeling as if he has to honour his family. I don’t necessarily think that he has to give that up to change and grow as a character- in fact becoming a doctor quite literally is the inverse of his horrible childhood. it literally demonstrates the extent to which he wants to prevent harm to others, when he literally started out as an assassin.

2 hilarious dc moments that need to be discussed more
2. dc being relentlessly attacked by fox news because they changed superman’s ‘fight for the american way’ motto
• in a historical context, like, i can definitely see that he was made to embody that whole american dream thing. but NOW? idk it’s kind of tired
