SPOILERS FOR JITD EP 30
After two years of waiting for this show to actually release completely, being scared I would never get to see the ending, and then being scared of what the ending would look like, I'm so happy.
I just wanted them to live. I'm tired of queer shows taking that way out and killing them or separating them at the end. So many dramas based on novels I loved so much and was so excited to see on the screen ended this way. I understand censorship causes this but for once there was so much relief in just having them be together and happy. At a personal level seeing queer people beat the odds and thrive in media does more for me than anything else. So worth the wait.
How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.
As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.
The author says Wallner broke her NDA by sharing her story with the media, including with New York Magazine.
He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.
He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.
Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.
Guess who's been playing Hades
Just a reminder, that generative AI has no place in Solarpunk 🥰
None 🥰
I am very bad at photography so excuse the quality but I wanted to post the rebinding i did for my copy of tfc. I'm very proud of how it turned out.
(i used a reference from Pinterest for the art)
What is the meaning of life and why is it watching a show over bad discord connection with one of your best friends, who lives approximately 7,844 kilometres away (or so google tells me) , who you have never seen irl, who you met on a discord server when you were fifteen in the thick of Covid and who despite timezones and schedules and everything over six years has become one of the most important people in your life.
Amazing how life works sometimes.
The answer to aspecs asking you to stop assuming [thing] about all aspecs is not to start assuming [opposite of thing] about all aspecs btw.
"Stop assuming all AlloAros have a lot of sex (or "are sluts")" does not mean "Start assuming no AlloAro has lots of sex" and also not "No AlloAro ever feels comfortable calling themselves a slut (or whore or w/e)" and vice-versa.
"Stop assuming all aros are loveless and non-partnering" does not mean "start assuming all aros do love ("in non-romantic ways") and are always partnering" and vice-versa.
"Stop assuming all aces are sex-repulsed" does not mean "start assuming all aces are sex-favourable", and vice-versa.
"Stop assuming all aplatonic people want to make friends" does not mean "start assuming no aplatonic people want to make friends" and vice-versa.
"Stop assuming all [aros or aces, mostly*] experience no [romantic or sexual, mostly*] attraction" does not mean "start assuming all [aros or aces] experience some form of [romantic or sexual attraction]" and vice-versa.
[Continue ad infinitum; these are just some examples and listing all things like that would be impossible.]
Just stop making assumptions about people based on one part of their identity. If they decide they want you to know, they'll tell you. If you want to know, you can ask, and maybe they'll give an answer (don't act like you're owed one, tho).
Accept that all people are different and even people under the same queer identity are going to have a vastly different experience; especially vast umbrellas like the aspec-identities. Instead of taking what one aspec person says about their identity as true for everyone under that same identity and then taking everything else as a "contradiction" to that label, or as something that needs another or a different label, simply accept that different people are going to have a different experience even if they use the same words to describe them.
It's really not that hard.
[*I think this may also apply to other aspec-identities (aplatonic, afamilial, atertriary, etc), right? I see these takes mostly inside of and directed at aro- and ace-spaces; but it also seems like it just applies across the board, non-aro and non-ace aspec-identities are just lesser known and thus not discussed as often.]
I'm sure someone else noticed this already, but the red letters in the credits in the opening theme spell "Xavier", anyone know what that's all about?
Nothing like a cosplay event to trigger your gay awakening
ARCANE S2 SPOILERS
Somebody probably said this already but do y'all ever wonder if Ekko ever told Vi about that one alternate reality?
Do you ever think about her finding out there's a world out there where almost everyone she loves is alive and happy (her sister, her friends, her dads, etc.) and her city is bright and beautiful and changing, and she's the only one in that version that's gone?
Because I do.
Spoilers for Arcane S2 Act 2
Am I the only one who's a little pissed they didn't really handle the aftermath of Cait hitting Vi (after which Vi had an onscreen breakdown) very well?
Like sure Vi went through the whole brawling, drinking, etc arc, but afterwards when they meet-up they just kinda move on? Like even if violence is very common in their lives, I feel like there should have been more of a resolution.
Maybe it happened offscreen or will happen over the next three episodes but still feels like they left it open ended and just pretended it didn't happen.
i actually never stopped thinking about this
