What the hell? How am I just realizing the amount of parallels between Murdoc Niccals and Rick Sanchez. God damn it!
Or maybe itâs just typical bass player behaviorâŚ?
1. Pickles
2. Questionable relationship with a crow (s)
3. Bass players
4. Codependednt relationship with someone they regularly torment, despite needing it far more than the other person does and being fundamentally defined by it
5. Alcoholic
6. Built a cyborg/robot to replace someone
7. Unhealthy (?) skin tone
8. God complex
9. Fucking portals am i right
Fun.

iâm sorry but some of you have genuinely lost the plot when it comes to this discourse đ
and to be clear, i do understand why the discourse exists. there is absolutely valid criticism to be had about one of the only white men in Sinners getting the most fic/art/engagement in a Black film with a predominantly Black cast. there is also a much larger conversation to be had about fandom in general and the way it is often white-washed, white-dominated, and more willing to latch onto white characters while sidelining characters of color
that conversation is real and worth having
but having a hyperfixation on one specific character does not automatically mean somebody hates every other character in the cast, nor does it mean theyâre secretly racist because they happen to post about the character their brain latched onto most
especially when weâre talking about fandom spaces where people naturally gravitate toward individual characters all the time. this happens in literally every fandom to ever exist
and accusing artists/writers of âonly caring about Black characters when they can profit off themâ because they drew fanart that includes the rest of the cast is such an ugly bad faith assumption to make about somebody you do not know personally
like be serious for a second đ somebody can hyperfixate on remmick while still appreciating the film, respecting the themes, and liking the other characters. those things are not mutually exclusive
i also think some people really need to stop acting like fandom engagement has to look exactly the same for everyone or it becomes morally suspicious somehow. not everybody expresses interest in media the same way. some people latch onto dynamics, some latch onto themes, some latch onto one specific character and spiral about them for months. thatâs just how fandom works
and honestly? reducing somebodyâs entire relationship to a film down to âyou only care about the white guyâ because thatâs the character they post most about feels incredibly presumptuous and unfair
you are allowed to dislike remmick content. you are allowed to curate your space. you are allowed to critique broader fandom patterns. but the constant leap from âthis person posts about remmick a lotâ to âthis person is racist and exploitativeâ is exhausting and weird
The reason why so many of y'all's feminism sucks is because you still believe deep down in your hearts that there are only two kinds of people in the world: precious, ethereal, fragile dollthings called "women", and violent, lustful, rage-fueled apes called "men". Until you throw that idea away, 3rd-grade-tier "girls rule boys drool, girls are princesses and boys are stinky :(" is as feminist as we'll ever get-- and I hope it's obvious that that's lightyears away from the bare minimum of where we need to be.

Mini discussion on the DCblackout as a black woman. If you donât want to hear the honest opinion from the POV of a black woman please scroll
Do I wish I was represented in comics more? Yes. Yes I do. Do I know why weâre not mainstream like other heroes like Batman and Wonder Woman? Yes! Yes I do.
Itâs because when we do get comics with Black leads. WE DO NOT READ THEM even in the black community. So why are we still complaining when what do get, we still dismiss? Absolute Green Lantern? Least talked about of the absolute universe, always in stock at comic stores. We have been given these mini series as little taste tests of what COULD be.
But guess what? They do not sell. And why would DC spend the money and resources to lose money on a comic? If we actually wanted to get these black characters back into the mainline comics PLEASE GO BUY BACK ISSUES! TPBâS! ANYTHING. they will see that people want these characters back.
Weâve seen it with the revival of Blade with marvel. He came back. People learned his name through marvel rivals and Deadpool and Wolverine, realized woah this guy is a badass let me go check out his old runs. Now heâs got a dc collab with supergirl, and heâs going to have a comic with moon knight coming out in July.
If you donât get what Iâm saying. People need to be recommending the comic runs with the black characters that we want to see make a comeback.
I really want people to realize these decisions ultimately are decided by the people who comics are catered to. Comics thst get longer series are the ones that we talk about. That sell. The ones that get cancelled and cut short are the ones that are going negative. Ones that readers ignore. So if we want to see more representation we have to make it clear we want it and also SUPPORT WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE.
Because I can guarantee a lot of these people participating in this blackout havenât purchased an issue with a black main character. And havenât even thought about it. They just saw a social justice movement and hopped on the bandwagon. Itâs truly a psychological concept of the bandwagon fallacy which I can see in how people are approaching this topic.
In the end. Yes we should be getting more representation. But also we have to do our part as consumers to make it clear that we are interested in reading these stories by going back and reading what has already been given to us. DC wonât give us a whole new mainline series just because people are talking about wanting one. You need to actually prove it. Go out and read absolute Green Lantern. Go pick up the old Mr. Terrific run. Recommend these to your friends.

Happy birthday, Russel. I hope you get that Dorothy dress as a present!
Some people in my position just go by "Queer" which I think is cool as well. It works great because it's a pretty wide umbrella term. I think I would call myself generally queer as well in terms of who I'm attracted to.
To be clear: I do have a label for my gender- just not for who I'm attracted to.
Also, if an unlabeled person DOESN'T define themselves as queer, that's cool too! It's up to the individual and their comfort.
This is making me emotional
