Hero and Villain Prompt “Kneel”
The Hero, beaten and bruised after fighting the Villain’s henchmen, had finally reached the Villain. They are panting, accidentally swallowing blood from their lips and mouth, but they look at the Villain with no spared amount of hate.
“Let them go,” the Hero says, gritting their teeth. Behind the Villain are the Hero’s two teammates. They each have their share of bruises but light up when they see that their leader has come to save them.
The Villain smirks. Three large henchmen stand tall next to the Villain and the Villain cockily chuckles. “I have no intention of hurting them anymore than I already have. Of course I could let them go but I want you to show everyone just how much you have left. I’ve destroyed you, made you into a person no mirror could ever make you recognise. Show me how much I have bested you”
The hero’s anger faulting slightly as they looked to meet the Villain’s eyes. “What?”
A moment of agonising silence had filled the room and so the Villain, their smirk growing ever so slightly, continued.
“You heard me, Hero. You want to see them walk out of here alive?” The Villain almost whispered, walking closer toward the Hero as a show of intimidation. “Kneel.”
The Hero choked. They couldn’t tell if it was on their own blood, saliva or on their tears. The Villain wanted to crush them. Had they won? Was there any dignity left for the Hero after all they’d done?
The Hero, who was ever so proud.
The teammates who always looked up to them.
The Henchmen, who were ready for a fight because there was no way the Hero would ever kneel for the Villain.
Because Hero would rather go out swinging. They hated the person in front of them. To give them such power well... the Hero would rather die. But the Hero took one glance at their friends. The looks in their eyes, the fear on their faces. How would the Hero save them otherwise?
