This is a little snippet from a figure Skating AU I've been thinking about for a while! The Winter Olympics pushed it to the forefront and got me to actually start writing it! It's Coach!Alfred and Figure Skater!Reader!

Alfred glides across the ice like it’s the most natural thing for him to be doing. There’s an easy grace to his movements, a confidence that’s deeply appealing. It stops you in your tracks and pulls you closer at the same time. You listen to the latter instinct, crossing to lean against the short wall separating the ice from the rest of the building. He doesn’t do anything beyond skating, nothing flashy, but you can see his skill in his every movement. His footwork is impeccable, steady and smooth, as he changes edges and goes through turns. There’s a beauty in the simplicity. Alfred turns, and meets your gaze. He slides to a stop in the middle of the ice, not looking away. Heavy silence settles between you, something heady in the air. “I,” You stop and clear your throat, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude.” He shakes his head, “You’re not. I’ll clear out so you can warm up.” “Oh, sure, no rush. I’m going to go,” You gesture vaguely, and he nods. You’re not fleeing, you tell yourself, you’re just…letting him have a moment. You go to the locker room, dumping your stuff into one of the lockers before pressing your forehead against the cool metal of the door. Only a few words exchanged and only a few minutes of time, but it’s the longest you and Alfred have interacted without a buffer and it’s left you feeling off balance.

From my Logan Practical Magic AU 🔮:

You walk around the charred outline, until you stand at the cliff again, you face tilting up to the sun. You take a deep breath of the briny sea air, letting yourself settle. “Graydon Creed is dead.” You let the words lie for a moment, “It all started with a phone call.”

From my Crime Boss!Maul fic 🌸:

Black blooms, just opening, in a black crystal vase sit on the table in your foyer. You pause just inside the door, looking at them with surprise. There’s no note, no card, but you still know who sent them. He’s been in your thoughts since that night, his burning gaze and sharp smile plaguing you.

You trace a gentle finger over one of the blooms, thinking about it. How the fear seemed to disappear as soon as you’d run into him. How it had been replaced with curiosity. You shiver as you think about the feeling of his hands on you.

“Maul,” You whisper.

(didn’t think I’d write more but working on a little part 2 (and 3) of my dunk fic, just to finish out some ideas for the tourney (canon-divergent) - I’ve been enjoying it! there’s gotta be something about the clark to dunk pipeline)

He’d been every inch a knight on the field. Blow after blow on Ser Swann’s shield. A boot planted on his chest when he went down.

Merciful, when it mattered.

And now, he sits in front of you. A battered victor, all hunched shoulders and soft eyes and you can’t help the flip in your heart or the way your head tips to rest against his thigh - cheek pressed against the back of your palm.
