Imagine if KVX bank turning blue and Oisin being blue is a total coincidence and we're all just being super fantasy racist against dragonborns
another reminder to stop buying/watching/reading anything JK Rowling associated
Live coverage of the 20th of February 2024 is now closed.
Here is a recap of today's major events.
It is 12am in Ireland now so I have to go to bed.
I'll be back to resume live updates on Thursday.
For continuous updates while I'm gone, click the link below:
Palestine’s UN envoy Riyad Mansour said US veto ‘absolutely reckless’, allows Israel to ‘get away with murder’ in Gaza.
Can we boost this one until it reaches the Oklahoma City Tumblrites? This seems like something this website could rally and solve. Help save all this genetic information? I messaged them to offer to consult with the entymology lab near mine to see if they could store the bugs with us, but they are VERY far away and would have to drive long distance to us.
cis ppl can have horns and swirls and spikes n shit surgically implanted under their skin any time they want if theyre rich enough but a trans woman wants boobs she has to wait at least 1-2 years for doctors to be convinced that she REALLY wants them
A cis woman who doesn’t have boobs or wants bigger ones can go and buy them any time if she has the money. A cis man with low testosterone can have T prescribed for him on the first doctor’s visit. Cis women take estrogen and progesterone routinely, for various reasons. A cis man with gynecomastia (breast growth) can have top surgery just because.
What I mean is it’s not just piercings and horns: Cis people can have actual gender-related medical interventions done any time, and they do have them, and it’s perfectly normal. But when trans people want the same interventions, often to literally save our lives, we have to wait years and jump through countless hoops to convince doctors that we really need it. The same things that cis people can have just like that.
this is an older post, but these procedures are excellent examples of gender affirming care for cis people. with the crack down of access to such care for trans people we are going to see the hypocrisy at a much larger scale OR we will see this card stripped from cis people as well and maybe more cishet people will begin to care?
not the coquettes literally reinventing nazi phrenology on tiktok
Yeah just a heads up. If you start judging people by bodyshape in any way I'll kick you right in the teeth. Have fun describing someone's face shape as inferior when your jaw is gone
Hey yeah in the midst of all the hype and the strikes, can we PLEASE fucking talk about this
I can't stop thinking about Gwen in ATSV. She mentioned about how she, in every other universe, died when she was loved by spiderman/Peter Parker. Peter B., Noir, Ham, and Peni didn't talk about it, but I can't help but think about how Gwen is in this organization where literally thousands of people were in love with her and she died. When she walked through Neuva York, every Spiderman was tripping over themselves to call out to her specifically and receive a "hey :)" back. Not Spider Jess or Hobie.
And then there's Pavitr and, love him of course, but I wonder how it felt to see him talk about Gayatri. I know it's a joke but how does it feel to see yourself put on this pedestal. You can't help but compare yourself and wonder "did my Peter see me that way? How would I have acted if he did?" To see her dad in Officer Singh. To see herself trapped in a bus, desperately pounding on the window as she dangled above certain death again.
In the original Spiderman India comic, they skipped over Gwen/Gayatri entirely, and instead had Meera Jain. Which I get why they did from a meta perspective, but in universe, how does it feel to know your replacement is out there. Every Spiderman is happy with their MJ, and they think of Gwen fondly, but like.... Gwen is replaceable. She is the first love, but she doesn't get a future. It's a canon event.
The horror of being a fridged woman.
This image is the perfect representation of the current zeitgeist
“If this hurts my shows I’m gonna riot” “they better not cancel my favorite show” “this is so selfish I NEED this show” “what about my mental health now that they—“
So you agree. Show-writers are important to you and to the industry and should be compensated accordingly for their important work.
i’ve some how managed to turn an old gay man on pinterest into a jerma stan by complete accident what is happening
update, John if you’re seeing this i love you you’re my favorite mutual
I’m literally a trans guy??? who’s gay??? I’m a man who likes other men??
Edit: that person is a terf, just so you all know John says trans rights🫶
BASED JOHN THE JERMA STAN
aren't gorillas gentle giants or something. i stay out of his way, he doesn't maul me, we have a nice time picking out clothes together in opposite sides of the mall
Male gorillas are super aggressive and territorial. Also they interpret nearly every human mannerism as a sign of aggression or a challenge. Smiling and eye contact are both things that zookeepers have to be taught to suppress when they’re in the vicinity of gorillas.
Well unless the mall is his native territory I think I'm fine, I wasn't planning on smiling at him
This is all irrelevant because the obvious answer is five black mambas. I mean, that’s not actually very many snakes, and malls are fucking huge. And unlike a gorilla you can definitely outrun a snake if it does show up. Find an open space in the mall where you can see any snake coming and just hangout out there. Fucking easy.
Misguided! I would much rather have a mallmate I can easily see and hear coming. I'm confident I can stay out of the gorilla's way, but if I step on a snake or one otherwise gets the jump on me, it's all over.
It's not just about the physical danger either, it's about my mental health. One gorilla, unless he's actively mad at me, I just keep a healthy distance between us and make sure I never get trapped. With the snakes, it requires a lot more constant vigilance
They should substitute "chimpanzee" for "gorilla" in this hypothetical.
if it was a chimp i'm taking the fucking snakes
Black mambas have a reputation build on being very venomous and very fast. I'm not sure why you would think you could outrun one (or five) in an enclosed space like a mall.
Malls usually have pretty slick floors, and escalators. I’d choose the gorilla simply because I think that would make an more interesting story (and a better-selling autobiography, I Survived the Mall Gorilla) but I think I’d stand a pretty good chance at avoiding the mamba. They’re fast and aggressive and will chase you but unless we started immediately beside each other I think my sneakers would have the terrain advantage over scutes.
this is too good to leave hidden in the replies
fucking enamored with the implication that this gorilla is fully intelligent but is trying to manufacture plausible deniability like the movie barnyard
Tweet of the year
Does it terrify anyone else that we're seeing wave of 20th century homophobia and transphobia in a world of 21st century technology? Gay nightlife, activism, and pleasure all used to hinge on word of mouth or discrete messaging. Now we're more culturally out of the closet, and that's a wonderful thing, but the very social media that in part gave us this visibility has backfired horribly. Any school teacher with a rainbow flag on their desk, venue that hosts drag events, or therapist who works to keep trans youth alive can be the target of the next violent right wing mob. It's ridiculously easy to find someone's address online, and the platforms we use don't care about our safety and privacy. LGBT bars, nonprofits, and so on are dying, and they need to have a social media presence to survive in this culture and economy. But exposure is simultaneously so necessary and so dangerous.
