give all your love to shelby shubble forever and always, btw
i genuinely don't know how to explain to you guys that "if they knew wilbur was shitty because wilbur was shitty to them too and didn't mention it earlier they're complicit" is literally just victim blaming. like. i'm sorry. i don't know what to tell you
i know i said i was stepping back but i'm just repulsed at a lot of shit i've been seeing here. a lot of victim blaming rhetoric and a lot of cryptoterf "assume all men = evil" shit. it's actually fucking repulsive and i've been trying to be civil and not cause fights because i didn't want to distract from shelby but it's getting fucking nasty and i'm real fucking sick of seeing it
you can call out abusers and criticize fandom misogyny without regurgitating radfem talking points and victim blaming rhetoric. it's literally not that fucking hard. i see shit like "question male ccs" specifically, as if women can't be complicit in abuse (even though minx is still running around with no consequences for doing just that). i see shit like "if someone is mistreating you you should be open about it otherwise you're complicit when other people get hurt".
and i'm sick of tolerating this shit, i'm just straight up blocking you if i see it. it's not welcome here.
also
this isn't putting words in shelby's mouth. she doesn't like this shit. knock it off
intentionally mislabelling behaviour and narrowing down the scope of what "counts" as abuse is also an extension of abuse tactics btw.
saying you were "just selfish" or "just slobbish" or "just disrespectful" while the physical harm was allowed to be called out of line, is part of the abuse.
narrowing down the scope of what counts, and what the abuser can be labelled as responsible for, is just another tactic to delegitimise the victims claims and further make them feel like it wasnt "that bad" .
When it comes to content creators, they will portray only an aspect of themselves on camera. They're attempting to show their good sides, their entertaining side, they're making content.
With something like streaming, you tend to get a more in depth look at a creator with this long-form unedited content, but it's still only an image, one they try to cultivate into a likeable, charming persona.
We don't see them when they're not streaming and we definitely don't see their private relationships. When new information comes to light that utterly shifts how you perceive them and their persona, it's really shocking. It's like an illusion has shattered. Perhaps most remarkable is that you'll look at earlier content and seen certain signs that you didn't see before.
That doesn't mean you should've known. Those flags could have just as easily meant nothing, and that's the benefit of hindsight. Just know that you only see a certain side of people and we don't really want to see more than that image we can project on, fans want an idol because that's fun and it's something I like to indulge in too. Just be sure not to put real people on a pedestal. They'll never match your expectations.
And if they reveal themselves to be harmful and dangerous, condemn their actions and stop supporting them. Even though they may break you, don't fear becoming a fan of someone or something again though. Even if it's not forever, it's fun as long as it lasts.
Anytime i see a bunch of pride flags i have to restrain myself from saying "where mexico" bc i doubt anyone will know I'm referencing this
I mean I know a certain level of projection on fictional characters and situations is inevitable and even healthy, but sometimes you got to step back into the real world to remind yourself that Character X is not your shitty parent/abusive ex/asshole boss/bully from high school, and that people who like Character X are not personally victimizing you.
op is getting death threats now probably
tommy don’t doxx yourself. tommy
tommy’s name in wilbur’s phone is Big T. crimeboyers take notes
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM
favorite thing is when wilbur uses pretentious words and tommy stares at him like
they suck so much
they are the same (causing each other anguish)
crimeboys head in hands
Can't get over how, even in 2024, the only person who can get Wilbur and Schlatt to stream in the same week is Tommyinnit.
