🏳️🌈 Queer writer of asexual romantic prose. Author of historical, homoromantic & androromantic novel "The Valdai Romance". Love burns hotter without sex. 🖤🌚🤍💜
🎨 The Faces of "The Valdai Romance": Official Character Portraits 🎨
Visualizing characters is an essential part of world-building, especially when dealing with unique psychology and xenobiology. Today, I am thrilled to share the official portraits of the protagonists from my alternative 19th-century bilingual novel.
🎩 Virgil Carter - An engineer of an ancient, highly advanced non-human race. His unique xenobiology makes him inherently cold, yet he suffers from this inner frost, secretly searching for a psychological warmth he never truly hopes to find.
🌿 Januar Walday - A lonely romantic from Valdai, dreaming of a supersensual intimacy and tactile saturation - a deep, transcendent connection completely free from mundane physical intercourse.
📖 If you want to dive deeper into their backgrounds and see how their paths cross, check out the detailed character summary I posted previously.

I’m Xeni Davyd, a queer author of "The Valdai Romance" and asexual romantic prose, showing that love can burn hotter without sex. I write primarily in Russian, with bilingual Russian-English expression. My romances focus on touch, closeness, and emotional intensity – hugs, kisses, tender gestures, and the raw heat of connection. Too often, asexual love is dismissed as bland or invisible. I write to prove it is anything but – powerful, passionate, and profoundly alive.
I craft Queer & Literary Fiction, diving deep into the subtle psychology of Slow Burn and Emotional Romance. I am dedicated to exploring the LGBTQIA+ spectrum in both languages, reclaiming the Russian language for queer narratives that are currently suppressed, and bridging them with global queer experiences.
Key Themes & Dynamics:
🏳️🌈 Identity & Attraction: Love between boys, young adults, and men (MLM / Achillean), as well as Non-binary characters and Enby x Man (NBLM) dynamics. My stories explore Toric and Viramoric perspectives with deep empathy.
💜 Asexual Spectrum: Asexual Romance, Homoromantic / Androromantic Ace experiences, Alloromantic Asexual narratives, and the nuances of being a Sensual Ace.
✨ Intimacy Beyond the Sexual: A focus on soft intimacy, skin hunger, tactile joy, heavy cuddling, and the vital importance of physical affection.
⚖️ Love Reimagined: Queerplatonic Relationships (QPR), Relationship Anarchy, Egalitarian Love, and the beauty of Balanced Power.
🕊️ Mission: Reclaiming the Russian language for queer narratives that are currently suppressed.
I believe in Asexual Hedonism and the aesthetics of the moment - from simmering Emotional Tension to the "Finality of a Kiss" (Kissing As Climax). My characters seek Equal Footing and solidarity, transforming Sensual Non-sexual closeness into a supreme form of passion.

✨ A Story of Exile, Identity, and Asexual Rebellion: Why I Write ✨
In my past creative chapters, I published under other pen names. Today, as an independent queer author and activist in exile, I write under my chosen name - Xeni Davyd.
This is the story of my evolution, my survival, and my bilingual alternative 19th-century novel, "The Valdai Romance".
For years, I lived under the suffocating weight of state-enforced censorship and societal pressure in the Russian Federation, forced into a mold that was never mine. Moving away was only the first step. In fact, it took me more than 7 years of living outside of Russia, slowly healing and deprogramming from that environment, to finally clear the fog and fully discover my true identity. Free from the endless noise and social brainwashing of what I "owed" to a traditionalist state, I was finally able to embrace who I truly am:
🔗 I am a masculine non-binary individual. I am a man, not the woman they desperately tried to force me to be.
Stepping into my true identity went hand in hand with embracing my reality as a queer asexual person. In a world obsessed with hyper-sexuality, being an asexual man is often met with dismissal or erasure. But I refuse to be invisible. My writing is my ultimate form of rebellion and survival.
Right now, my situation is incredibly fragile. I am displaced, financially vulnerable, and living in deep isolation. Yet, through this frost, I chose to create warmth.
My novel, "The Valdai Romance", explores the profound, electric intensity of asexual romantic love - proving that passion can burn significantly hotter without sex. It follows the slow-burn psychological connection between Virgil Carter, an alien engineer trapped in his own biological coldness, and Januar Walday, a lonely romantic dreaming of supersensual closeness.
Through this bilingual (Russian/English) canon, my mission is to reclaim the Russian language for queer narratives that are currently being brutally suppressed, bridging them with global queer experiences.
