Decision-Based Dialogue Prompts
⭒ “You keep saying you’re fine where you are, but you say it like you’re trying to convince yourself.”
⭒ “If this is what you want, then why do you look like you’re suffocating?”
⭒ “At some point, not choosing is still a choice.”
⭒ “You talk about loyalty like it’s an excuse to stay miserable.”
⭒ “You don’t get to resent everyone for a life you keep refusing to leave.”
⭒ “Say it out loud. Say you’re scared. Don’t dress it up as responsibility.”
⭒ “You keep waiting for permission that no one is ever going to give you.”
⭒ “If you stay, stop pretending you’re a victim. If you leave, stop pretending you’re a villain.”
⭒ “You act like wanting more automatically means you’re ungrateful.”
⭒ “You’re not trapped. You’re just afraid of who you’ll be if you walk away.”
⭒ “How long have you been calling this ‘temporary’?”
⭒ “You don’t owe your unhappiness your loyalty.”
⭒ “You keep saying it’s too late, but you never explain for what.”
⭒“You can’t keep blaming circumstances when you’re the one refusing to move.”
⭒ “What are you actually afraid of losing? this place, or the excuse?”
⭒ “You say you’re staying for everyone else, but you’re the one paying for it.”
⭒ “If this is the life you chose, why do you talk about it like it happened to you?”
⭒ “You keep waiting for it to fall apart so you don’t have to be the one who leaves.”
⭒ “You already know what you want. You’re just scared of the cost.”
⭒ “At what point does ‘being patient’ turn into ‘giving up’?”
⭒ “You keep calling it stability, but it looks a lot like fear.”
⭒ “How long are you planning to live a life you secretly hope ends on its own?”
⭒ “You can’t keep asking ‘what if’ while doing absolutely nothing about it.”
⭒ “You’re not scared of failing. You’re scared of finding out you could’ve done better.”
⭒ “Stop acting like leaving means erasing everything that came before it.”
⭒ “Just say it. Say you want something different.”
How to Fix Underwriting
1. Slow down at emotionally important moments.
Big emotions need space to land. If a scene feels rushed, pause the plot briefly to show how the moment affects the character.
2. Add reactions, not explanations.
Instead of explaining what a character feels, show it through physical responses, hesitation, or small actions that reveal emotion naturally.
3. Ground every scene in the senses.
If a scene feels thin, add one or two sensory details—sound, texture, smell, or temperature—to make the moment feel lived-in.
4. Let thoughts interrupt action.
A line of internal thought can deepen a scene without slowing it too much. Thoughts show stakes, fear, longing, or conflict beneath the action.
5. Expand consequences, not events.
You don’t need more things to happen—you need to show what matters. Focus on how events change relationships, decisions, or self-perception.
6. Strengthen setting where emotion peaks.
The environment should echo or contrast the emotion of the scene. Setting is not decoration—it’s emotional reinforcement.
7. Add specific details instead of general ones.
Underwriting often relies on vague language. Swap “they argued” for one sharp line of dialogue or a specific breaking point.
8. Let dialogue breathe.
Short dialogue exchanges without pauses can feel flat. Add beats—silence, gestures, interruptions—to give the conversation weight.
9. Show transitions between scenes.
If scenes jump too quickly, readers feel disoriented. A brief transition helps establish time, mood, and emotional continuity.
10. Clarify stakes early in the scene.
If readers don’t know what can be lost, scenes feel empty. Make sure the character wants something specific and fears losing it.
11. Use the “what are they feeling right now?” check.
After each major beat, ask what emotion is dominant in that moment. If it’s missing on the page, the scene is likely underwritten.
12. Expand scenes that feel “too clean.”
If a scene resolves too neatly or quickly, it probably needs more tension. Messy emotions and unresolved feelings add depth.
now i need how to fix over writing
I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything
Reblog if you will never. Ever. Use AI in your writing.

Is it okay for teens to write smut or limes? Or atleast heavily imply sexual activity?
I was watching porn as a minor. literally do whatever you want, as long as you're not harming anybody, also be careful who you talk to online and stay safe
heavy on be careful who you interact with online, especially if you intend to be creating and interacting with mature content
help why is the button layout marginally different i hate it
Howdy!!! The sprite is saw looked really pretty and im curious about the vn!! Apologies if i missed it in the blog, but what's the plot idea for what youre cooking up 👀
Hi!! Thank you so much!
There are going to be a few different paths, I plan to make at least 5 romanceable characters each with their own individual journeys.
The main overarching plot is going to be primarily a gothic political drama taking place within the royal court of a kingdom called Varnythal, which is under the reign of a religious zealot King. It's going to be mildly fantasy, it's sort of a vampire story! The king believed vampires to be evil and "unpure" and cursed them, one of the stories will very heavily follow this path.
While all of the playable stories fall under the same main plot, they'll each follow their own lines, so there's at least somewhat of an original experience to playing each character. Some will more heavily follow the vampires' curse, some will get more into court drama with the palace, some will follow the king's reign over his people outside of the court's eye. It all depends on what character you choose to play.
A big thing I want to do with this project that I think is pretty unique to visual novels is that I want some of the romanceable characters to also be playable. The sprite i'm currently working on is for one of those characters.
The idea is essentially when you play you can choose either a "your mc" type of play style where you input your name, pronouns, etc for the characters to be interacting with you/your character (standard vn), OR you can choose to play as one of the playable characters, and romance another character like that.
It would still be pretty standard vn gameplay where you get to make the choices and unlock endings and stuff, but the name and pronouns are pre-determined and it would unlock exclusive artworks, endings that are exclusive to those two characters, you would see the sprite of the character you're playing as, etc. if that makes sense.
some of these characters will be unlockable through previous paths: I plan to give the "villain" a playable story, but to unlock that one of the main storylines must first be completed. stuff like that.
It's definitely going to be a big project! My end goal is to develop this into a standalone app, ideally for multiple platforms, but that's a long longgg ways down the line. right now I'm mainly focused on creating the art and storyboarding everything. This is just a pastime project for me, so it's going to be very slow going.
thanks for asking! sorry this is such a long-winded response.
