Re: ep 8 leaks

I know we’re all freaking out over our good friends the bug cowboys, but I’m also freaking out about this image:

Rand lost his birth mom right away, and then lost his adoptive mom as a little kid. He hasn’t been held by a mom in a really long time. But Moiraine looked at these 20-year-olds and said “you’re all mine now” and now Rand has a mom who is protective and holding him and I just 😭😭😭

Rand being extra defensive about Mat in Episode 7 felt a little ‘too much’…

…until I realized that the whole season Rand has been a black belt ninja master in lying to himself and pretending he wasn’t noticing things he didn’t want to think about. (The Dude felt himself channel in the Ways – you could see it on his face after – but managed to then forget about it for the rest of the day?!?!). 

One big reason he managed to do that so long was because he was able to project all his fears about himself onto Mat (Mat can channel. Mat was supernaturally strong enough to resist the dagger as long as he did). And when Moiraine didn’t go back for Mat and when Egwene scoffed at the idea of Mat being the Dragon? Hoo boy! Without Mat to hide behind, he could feel the tidal wave of impending knowledge barreling down on him from his subconscious. He was like a drowning man desperately grabbing for a life preserver… but but but Mat Mat Mat.

aah, not really, i feel like when i read putting a real person's face to the idea of a character I have in my head almost never works out. it has happened though devon aoki has Become shallan for me but it's like. yes she physically could play shallan but it's about the vibes matching more than anything else
